Happy anniversary to the day Bill Cipher was defeated!!!
Ask Game: Soos
How I feel about this character: Soos is hilarious and brings a certain life to the show. Even though he’s not one of the most important characters in terms of plot, I don’t think the show would be as good without him.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: I think the Melody x Soos romance was really cute and done well.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Dipper and Soos, the Pterodactyl Bros! Dipper is super stressed throughout pretty much the entire summer, and I love that Dipper and Soos seem to be able to get together and just goof off, giving Dipper a much needed break.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I really can’t think of one. I guess I don’t really see any Soos-related discourse.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: In Weirdmageddon, Soos mentions that the townfolk have written some folk songs about him. I would kill to hear one of the folk songs they wrote about Soos.
Thanks for the ask! Soos is awesome and I don't talk about him enough.
It really does warm my heart that Grunkle Stan withheld himself from swearing around other people. I don't know if he trained himself not to swear just for Mabel and Dipper when he knew that they were coming to town or if he always monitors his language for Soos and Wendy’s sake, but the idea that this grumpy old man took so much care to watch his language in order to not corrupt the innocent youngsters just makes me love Stan all the more.
Alex Hirsch using the voter fraud line to call in as Gravity Falls characters might just be the funniest 💀💀
We do not deserve Alex Hirsch.
Sooooooos
Sexuality Headcanon: Straight.
Gender Headcanon: Cis man.
Ship: Soos x Melody, it’s a very wholesome ship and I think they are perfect for one another.
BROTP: Soos and Dipper. Pterodactyl Bros to the rescue!
NOTP: Soos x Giffany. Giffany, please leave and don’t come back. You make me uncomfortable.
Random Headcanon: Even if Soos now has his dream job, he’s still trying to pick up DJing on the side.
General Opinion: Even if Soos isn’t my favorite character, I really love what he brings to the show. He has some of the very best lines in the series, he’s lovable and funny, he always adds something to the scenes that he’s in. Gravity Falls wouldn’t be Gravity Falls without Soos.
Thanks for the ask!
giffany x rumble
Sometimes, I can’t tell if y’all are sending me crack ships or if you want serious answers. Usually, I think I can tell, but one day I’m gonna get hooty x edric or something and I’ll give a joke answer and the person who asked will say “actually I was serious...”
I’m assuming this is a crack ship, and I’m giving it a 8/10. According to Journal 3, Giffany has her sights set on Rumble, and from what we know of Giffany, she won’t rest until she gets him. Rumble would be flattered by the attention, but I don’t think he has the time to give Giffany the level of attention she wants. This upsets Giffany, who wants to be with Rumble 24/7. Plus, she’s annoyed that he keeps asking her who killed her father. She killed her own father, but she doesn't want him to know that. Knowing that she was a murderer seemed to scare off her last boyfriend, Soos. They want to be together, but they just don’t seem to want the same things out of a relationship. It’s a tragedy, really.
Okay, okay. Hear me out.
In season 1 episode 17 of Gravity Falls, “Boyz Crazy,” Gompers (the goat) bites off the license plate of Mr. Bratsman’s car. After Mr. Bratsman drives away, Soos says “good boy” to Gompers. This implies that Gompers is male.
What’s that you say? Soos could’ve gotten Gomper’s gender wrong? Well, I suppose you’re right. Soos probably isn’t an expert on goats. So let’s look a little more into how you can tell if a goat is male or female.
As you can see from this diagram, you can look at a goat’s horns to make the distinction, and Gompers seems to fit all the criteria for being a male goat. He has horns with large bases and gradual curves, and there appears to be very little space between his horns. In addition, he has a large beard, another characteristic of male goats. With this evidence, combined with Soos’s “good boy,” it’s reasonable to claim that Gompers is a male goat.
But why is this important, you ask? What does it matter that Gompers is male? Well, I’ll tell you: if Gompers is male, and Waddles, who is consistently referred to with he/him pronouns, is also male, then that means Gravity Falls featured a gay wedding onscreen in the year 2014.
I rest my fucking case.
