Saw this comment on the Disney Wiki and thought it would be worth sharing here. I like this idea a lot. It would be lovely to get a full epilogue for Amphibia, where we really get to spend some time watching what happens when the trio returns to Earth. I’m thinking that the “hardest thing” might be saying goodbye and having to move on.
How many more episodes do you think it will take unlit Anne and Sasha find out about Darcy?
Gosh, I don't know. The writers have certainly proven that they’re willing to go long stretches of time without mentioning or showing Marcy/Darcy. Looking at the list of upcoming episodes and their descriptions, my guess would be not until one of the final three episodes (The Beginning of the End, All In, and The Hardest Thing). It’ll probably be in The Beginning of the End, since it will be difficult to progress into a finale without Sasha and Anne discovering Darcy. This isn’t what I want to happen, but I unfortunately think it is likely.
Do you like how fast Anne forgave Sasha in Commander Anne for everything that went down in True Colors? What were your thoughts on the episode?
I do think it went a little fast. For me, it’s less about the forgiveness aspect and more about how quickly she began to trust Sasha again. It’s difficult to be mad at someone when you haven’t seen them in a long time, and it’s ESPECIALLY difficult to be mad at someone when you haven’t seen them in a long time AND you’re worried about whether or not they’re alive. So although I don’t think that I would’ve been able to forgive Sasha that fast had I been in Anne’s shoes (or should I say shoe), I don’t necessarily think that it was unrealistic or wrong.
However, I do take a bit of an issue with how quickly Anne was willing to follow Sasha, obey her commands, believe everything she said, and overall put a lot of trust in her. Sasha's line "my days of toxic manipulation are over" is more or less what she said in season 2 when she claimed she had changed and then later proved that she definitely had not. Shouldn’t Anne have learned by this point not to believe that? Sure, Sasha went through a lot of character development in Turning Point, but Anne wasn’t there to see any of that. It felt much too quick for Anne to immediately follow Sasha into a basement and then on a mission without question. I do think the episode would have been improved if Anne had a least been skeptical of Sasha at the beginning.
Overall, I have some mixed feeling about the episode, but I didn’t dislike it. It was rushed for sure, but we had a good look into Sasha’s character and it felt nice to be in Amphibia again. Hopefully, Anne’s comment to Sasha “we’ll work out our own baggage later” wasn’t just a throwaway line, and we do get the chance to watch them really tackle their emotions. If that happens, I’ll be satisfied.
Do you think that Anne and Sasha reconciled in True Colors?
I don't. I think that Anne and Sasha fought side by side in True Colors because they recognized that it was necessary to defeat Andrias. I don't think that Anne has forgiven Sasha yet, and that's okay - Sasha and Anne haven't gotten a chance to talk since they fought Andrias. I am confident that things will be worked out between them, but I would have to guess that Anne is still mad and they have yet to reconcile. Here's hoping that we get to see more of Sasha soon and we can be brought closer to that reconciliation. She was criminally absent in season 3a.
Do you think that Sasha and Grime will become Amphibia’s leaders after Andrias is overthrown?
I don't, although I honestly kinda wish this would happen. Regardless of what happens during the rest of season 3, there is little doubt in my mind that the series will end with all three girls back on Earth. I feel like one of the themes that Amphibia is trying to reinforce is “don’t run away from your problems,” and Sasha deciding to stay and rule over Amphibia could be seen as her not fixing her problem of being controlling and having a constant need to be in power. I think having Sasha rule over Amphibia would be cool, but at the same time, I do understand that she needs to work on being less controlling before something like that can happen. It’d be great if she could come back in a few years and start ruling then, but again, I think that the series will end with all 3 girls on Earth, not Amphibia. Grime ruling alone is a possibility, I suppose, but that frankly scares me. We saw how it went last time he was in charge of a bunch of toads.
so sasha’s parents are separated... interesting.
It’s fascinating to me that Marcy’s fear sequence takes place at school as opposed to Annes’s house, the park where they met Sasha, or any other place you think would be more significant to their friendship. And Marcy instantly knew what the projection was before she even saw Anne and Sasha - she says “oh no, oh no oh no oh no” when she’s just looking at a hallway with lockers in it. Her fear has something to do with the school specifically. I think that this is evidence that Marcy experiences problems at school, likely with bullying, and Anne and Sasha help her get through the tough times. Marcy could be bullied, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what anyone says or does to her because she has two friends who care about her. But if she loses those friends, then every single person in school will be against her, and school will turn into a living hell.
at first i didn’t think the prom poster was important, because that’s a very normal thing to see in a school hallway, but then i noticed that the rest of the hallway is completely barren, so now i think the prom poster might be REALLY IMPORTANT to marcy’s nightmare. i can’t say for certain what ship it references or even if it references a ship at all, but it must be significant in some way.
THAT’S NOT THE NORMAL SCHOOL LOGO
turning point was really well done, and hop ‘til you drop wasn’t half bad either. the flashback scene to when marcy was stabbed was amazing, I'm so glad they decided to show that. i’m getting high hopes for this season, although it is disappointing that none of the episodes we have descriptions for are about marcy or sasha.
“of cOURse this is my natural hair color” i'm losing it that voice crack made it so funny
Amphibia Season 3a Episodes Predictions/Hopes
Some titles for episodes of season 3 of Amphibia were unofficially released a couple of days ago. While these titles have yet to be officially confirmed, I’m going to assume for a moment that they are correct and share my predictions and hopes for what each title could mean.
The New Normal: This episode is full-length instead of being divided into two segments like most Amphibia episodes. My hope is that this one has three segments of about equal length that show the “new normal” for Anne, Sasha, and Marcy. I would be disappointed if we had to wait until the next episode to find out what’s going on with any of the three girls.
Hop ‘Til You Drop: This is the first time we really get to see the Plantars exploring the human world. We get a relatively upbeat episode full of Hop Pop, Sprig, and Polly trying to pass as humans and being amazed at everything they see. Maybe we meet some new human characters.
Turning Point: Really hoping this is about Sasha. Specifically, I think it’ll be about Sasha realizing she has her priorities wrong, and ruling a kingdom is not the most important thing right now. I think this episode will mostly be just Sasha and Grime, where Sasha is pouring her heart out to Grime and reflecting on herself and Grime is being entirely unhelpful.
Thai Feud: There’s a few shots from the trailer that show Anne and Sprig in a Thai food truck that must come from this episode. They definitely seem to be running from something or someone - could this be someone Andrias sent, or a human who wants to know more about the Plantars?
Adventures in Catsitting: The Plantars are tasked with watching Domino while Anne and her parents go off to do something nice together. Things go horribly wrong, as the Plantars have no idea how cats work. Overall light-hearted episode.
Fight at the Museum: I’m going to say that the person at the center of this pic from the season 3 opening works at a museum, and maybe the blue-haired person behind them too. Anne and the Plantars go to meet these people for some reason when something, likely Andrias’s robots, attacks, and the museum workers end up helping Anne in the fight. New friends are made.
Temple Frogs: I have two potential ideas for this one. One is that Sasha, along with frogs from Wartwood, visit the temples and look for clues on what Andrias is doing and/or potential ways to get home. The other idea, and this is the one I like better, is that we get a flashback episode that tells us what’s up with these two frogs pictured next to Andrias. Others have theorized that these three previously matched up with the three gems on the box, and the title of this episode makes me think that theory might be right.
Fixing Frobo: The two people on the left side of the picture from the opening appear to be holding a robot, so this episode will be about them, well, fixing Frobo. It surprises me, though, that there’s a whole episode dedicated to this. Maybe they repeatedly try and fail to restore Frobo to his original condition, and Polly struggles to accept that they can’t?
Anne-Sterminator: Man, I... do not know with this one. I’ve seen other people guess that this episode has something to do with Anne learning how to use her calamity powers, which makes logical sense, but I still don’t know how the exterminator pun fits in. I guess maybe if Andrias sends robots that resemble bugs? Get back to me on this one.
That's actually a really cool post but I was definitely talking about how Sasha's Gem Theme was Strength and what kind of situation she'd be in that leads to her glowing pink. Like your previous post about this subject where you talked about Anne seeing something that lacked in Heart. My previous ask was talking about a situation where Sasha sees something that lacked in Strength.
Ah, yup, okay. I was a little confused on what your ask meant, but in retrospect this definitely makes a lot more sense than how I interpreted it. Sorry for the mishap.
Here's the original ask:
That’s actually a really good prediction! The Toad Army has show in the past that they aren’t always the strongest, whether it be physically or mentally. At the very least, Sasha has expressed dissatisfaction at their performance. I can absolutely see her transforming after the rest of her allies have been beaten down.
I’m picturing an episode that opens on Sasha talking with someone, probably Grime, about what Anne did, and her wondering aloud how/if she could do it too. For a good part of the episode, Sasha tries various methods to transform, because her army has a big battle that day, and she can’t stop thinking about how much help it would be if she could be as powerful as Anne was. All her attempts to transform fail, and she has to go into battle as her normal self. But when all the toads are defeated, then and only then can Sasha (unintentionally) finally tap into her power and win the fight.
Ooh, what if the big battle is a mission to rescue Marcy? That would definitely be a time when it would be critically important to win the fight. Regardless of the circumstances, though, I really like your idea for when Sasha will transform, and I can absolutely see it happening in the show.
Regarding Sasha in Season 3, I don't think the opening shows her fighting the Wartwood peeps. Grime looks to be facing the same direction as the rest of the Wartwood characters, And Sasha's doing the "Cool character confidently looks over their shoulder" thing.
It's so hard to tell, because Sasha is onscreen for literally about 1 second. It’s possible that Grime and the Wartwoodians (is that a word?) are all facing an offscreen enemy, but it looks to me like Sasha and Grime are surrounded by angry frogs. Look at the two weapons at the bottom of the image that are partially offscreen; they certainly seem to be pointed at Sasha.
Maybe Sasha and the Wartwood peeps will only be enemies for a single episode, but my prediction based off of this screenshot is that they will at least start out season 3 fighting each other.
P.S. I gotta say though, you’re absolutely right; Sasha’s pose is pretty sick.
Maybe Sasha will be on the losing side of a battle. And despite their best efforts, the people she’s fighting alongside just can’t muster up the strength to win. So she’ll have to.
I've been thinking a lot about what will happen to Sasha. Anne and Marcy both have pretty clear paths laid out for where they'll go next, but Sasha doesn't. All the indication we really have is shot of Sasha from the season 3 intro.
At first, I thought Sasha would be a prisoner of King Andrias, but she clearly isn't. Then I thought she might fight against King Andrias after watching what he did to Marcy, but she doesn’t seem to be doing that either. Instead, she seems to be doing exactly what she was doing before True Colors: fighting frogs with Grime in the name of the toads. While it’s possible that Sasha and Grime are in Wartwood to recruit frogs to help them defeat Andrias, the stances of the frogs and the drawn weapons certainly don't make it seem like that’s the case. Could Sasha and Grime continue their quest for power, even after everything that’s happened?
It’s unfortunate, but also not that surprising. Sasha does not seem to have a good grasp on how her actions can negatively affect other people. Her season 1 altercation with Anne did not seem to sway her on her decision to fight with the toads, and she seemed genuinely surprised that Anne wasn’t okay with the toad invasion. Sasha may believe that continuing to fight with the toad army is the best thing to do right now, especially if she thinks Marcy is dead and there is no point in attempting a rescue.
I don’t think Sasha is evil. I DO think she has an overwhelming and unhealthy desire to be powerful, and she does what it takes to get said power without considering the greater consequences it might cause, especially to other people. So, I think Sasha will begin season 3 still struggling for power along with Grime, all while holding the belief that it's a good thing, if not the best thing, for her to do. I’m not sure what will cause her to stop her quest for sovereignty (maybe finding out that Marcy is still alive?), but I have to believe that at some point, she will come around and fight for a better cause.
so anne’s theme with the gem and all is heart, which makes sense when you think about the moment when she transformed into her magical state; it was in a moment where she witnessed something that was most definitely lacking in heart and she transformed to hopefully fix it. but wouldn’t to be hilarious if all of the girls’ powers worked this way, each one being connected to the attribute they proved to have in the temples? like what if sasha sees someone struggling to lift weights at a gym and just starts unintentionally glowing pink
I remember seeing a theory awhile back of the Amphibia gals being able to transform into Magical Girls, which I'm all in for. How do you think they'd react? I feel like Marcy would be like "THIS IS SO AWESOME WOOO" while Sasha is like "This is so embarrassing" and Anne is a mix between the two.
Ha, I love this idea. Yeah, you've pretty much got their reactions nailed down.
Marcy: guys guys guys guys GUYS! DID YOU SEE WHAT JUST HAPPENED? THIS IS SO COOL!
Anne: Wow! This is so weird... but kinda awesome.
Sasha (covering face): Oh god. No one look at me.
