Godzilla and various Ultraman characters beating up the Wonder 3, drawn by Osamu Tezuka. He drew it because his own children preferred to watch these shows over his own cartoons, poor guy. (1966)

Tezuka's 'Wonder 3' (aka 'The Amazing Three')

Going back to my original inspirations in drawing has led me to the great Osamu Tezuka. My favorite anime of his was Wonder 3 (Amazing 3 in English). I never ever want to see this except in glorious black and white.

Stylish, funny, original storylines (the heroes actually become antagonists for the two part climatic finale) and a story arc with a bittersweet ending (ALL of Tezuka's anime series from Astro Boy to Princess Knight had actual series endings!), I loved this series to bits.
