Heyy!! i really like your posts and im really sorry for all the hate youve been getting. I wanted to ask a random (but still encanto related) question because i was curious lol. If you were a madrigal, where on the family tree would you like to be? Sorry if i worded this confusingly

Heyy thank you so much!

Pepa’s side is my favourite and also I’m half black so probably Pepa and Félix’s child but also I ship Bruno and Señora Pezmuerto (the fish lady) please do not ask me why I just feel like it jajajajaja so if they were canon I would probably choose the part of the family tree as their child

what about you?

I love learning about little details in films and one thing I'm curious about is that Mirabel used her lips to point to her gift to the kid (can't remember his name) and I was wondering as to why its a thing.

I don’t know why we do this we just do jajajajaja (his name is Antonio!)

we just use our lips, hands etc to express feelings and emotions in general the body language plays important role in the way we communicate

for example Camilo slapping his fingers when he is excited (it’s basically just slapping your index finger with the rest of your fingers) we do it when we are excited or in general when there is a lot of emotions (my brother does it every time he starts eating jajajaja he loves eating)

or Abuela Alma doing this gesture with her fingers - you know it’s serious when somebody does it

or Pepa just throwing her hands around also when she has a lot of emotions inside or her, when she explains something etc

I really don’t know why we are doing this we just do jajajaja so I’m sorry I can’t explain it better

Dolores Madrigal is many things. Overlooked. Lonely. Astute and intelligent. She loves the sound of raindrops falling onto the windows and dripping on the rooftops - it brings her peace when she feels like she can’t do it anymore.

But if you asked her family they would say she is terrible at keeping a secret.

Secrets don’t exist for Dolores - she knows everything no matter if she likes it or no.

She is a wallflower - quiet and observant. But when you know everything about everyone it becomes difficult to keep all of it bottled away. It tends to spill out uncontrollably, randomly in sporadic bursts - words just form themselves on Dolores’ mouth at the dinner table and she can’t do anything about it.

Señora Natália was arguing with her husband earlier today. She said she wanted a divorce. Oh and Juana is pregnant. She is only 15. Her mamá went crazy

Dolores doesn’t know why she does it. A pathetic effort to be seen, perhaps. Pepa gasps and leaning towards her hija she asks her to tell more. To her disappointment Abuela cuts it off

I was speaking to Señora Guzman today. Isabela do you know she has a son your age?

Dolores can feel her heart starting to beat faster. Mariano Guzmán. The boy she thinks of at nights, before falling asleep, the boy she -

Yes I think I’ve met him before in the town. He seemed adorable Isabela’s sweet voice snaps Dolores out of her thoughts

Isabela Madrigal. Her older prima and the oldest Madrigal grandchild. Perfection in every sense of this word. At least this is what the family and Encanto thinks. Dolores feels washed up and dull living in her shadow. Her whole life she has been trying to be useful somehow - like Luisa or Julieta. Even Camilo’s gift is more impressive than hers. She doesn’t understand the point of it. What good hearing the whole town does? For the understanding of our Encanto and its people Abuela says. But Dolores hates her gift. Not only because of the constant and unstoppable noise - she got used to that but because of the fact that people don’t trust her. They are scared she will tell everyone about their deepest secrets. She knows it because she hears them saying it. She sees how they react when she enters a room or when she walks down the streets of Encanto. She somehow finds it funny because no matter how quiet their voices are she still hears them. She hears everything. And she just wishes people knew she doesn’t spill everything

Abuela Alma crying in her room at nights

Isabela’s preference for girls and her affection to Dina - the lovely girl from town, daughter of the Encanto carpenter

And her tío Bruno never leaving the Encanto and finding his hideout in the walls of Casita

Dolores takes solace in the fact that they’re wrong about her. It always could be worse she thinks. She could have no gift at all like poor Mirabel

Note: I was thinking about Dolores and I thought maybe I could write it down so I did. This is the first time I’ve ever done something like that. English is not my first language and I apologise for any mistakes

theory about the gifts in Encanto

I was thinking and I thought about what the gifts really are so I will share

I think that the gifts are reflection of who each Madrigal really is. It just sharpens their true self and it’s based on the qualities they already had

For example Bruno was always very intuitive, Pepa was always wearing her heart on her sleeve and Antonio has always loved animals

Maybe Dolores always has been oversensitive to sounds (but there is one thing that doesn’t work with that theory because why Casita would make her life harder?) and Julieta always has loved cooking. Isabela was always a fan of flowers, Luisa loved exercising and Camilo always has had hard time with accepting himself and always waned to look different so this is why Casita gave him an opportunity to? (And this is when I would like to mention Camilo’s room headcanon - he has mirrors in there. And it those mirrors he can only see how he really looks like so maybe this was Casita’s way to help him love himself?)

And this is why Mirabel didn’t get a gift - her biggest desire was to bring the family together and she didn’t need a gift to do that

I’m pretty sure it can actually be canon - the way how Abuela Alma talks how you get a gift which is as special as you are

yeah so that’s it I hope it isn’t to messy

have a nice day <3

When it comes to ”what power would I have” I feel like I would have a power that is tied to my mood, like pepa’s but beyond that I don’t have any specifics

I read somewhere that all of the Madrigals’ powers are tied to their mood for example when Camilo is stressed he can’t shapeshift. When Luisa was worried about the magic she also had some difficulties with using her gift (or was it because the magic was fading away? I don’t know)

But it wouldn’t work for Dolores because the volume of things she heard was all the time the same and this was confirmed by Jared Bush I believe

But Pepa’s gift was like the reflection of her mood and I think that’s what you actually meant I’m sorry I misunderstood this but yeah jajajaj

I love the idea of Catholic Madrigals

I mean it’s obvious they are Catholics but we’ve never really seen them “being” religious (and it’s alright obviously + I don’t know how to word it I’m sorry) but my personal headcanon is that they pray together like before meals etc and also that each Madrigal has their own relationship with God

here are some of my favourite ones:

Alma - she prays a lot, she trusts in God deeply, she has never doubted Him and I also think she wears a rosary

Pepa - as a child she didn’t like to pray, it was a little bit like a duty for her but eventually she find her own way

Bruno - well he’s extremely Catholic, just like Alma he prays a lot and whenever something bad or stressful happens he murmurs to himself Padre nuestro, que estás en el cielo santificado sea tu nombre venga tu reino… he finds peace in prayers, it makes him feel safe. Bruno also wears a rosary (although it’s just a headcanon I read somewhere that early concept Bruno was actually wearing one). When he was still in the walls and his family prayed together he was always praying with them - it made him feel like he was still the part of the family even though only Dolores could hear him

Dolores - when she was 11 and her tío started living in the walls she could hear him praying every morning, every evening and she was just doing it with him. When he came back she didn’t stop doing it and now they often pray together. I think she’s that type of person who wants to do everything in the harmony with God in her faith - she waits until marriage etc. She doesn’t wear a rosary daily but she has a one. Sometimes she just hold it because it gives her strength and makes her feel safe

Isabela - well her relationship with God is a little bit chaotic. She wouldn’t describe herself as a religious person but she actually loves to pray and talk with Him because it just makes her feel better

Luisa - she spends a lot of time at the church sitting alone and just thinking, sometimes she prays

yeah so that’s it if you don’t like it or something like that please just skip the post

have a nice day <3

this is how I think how Encanto characters would react to asking about their pronouns

Mirabel: she/her and you?

Isabela: she/her.

Luisa: I don’t have time for this

Dolores: she/her *squeaks*

Camilo: he/him *shrugs* whatever

Agustín: my name’s Agustín

Félix: whatever you want them to be (if Pepa asks) what’s that (if anyone different asks)

Pepa: depending on her mood it would be: woman ones :) or leave me alone or I will start raining

Julieta: she/her *gives the asker something to eat*

Bruno: I’m Colombian if that’s what you mean

Alma: female ones or I don’t have time for this

Mariano: I don’t know but if you really want to know you should ask Dolores - she knows everything about me

okay I’ve never thought I would actually do something like this but I’m currently kinda struggling with my own pronouns and I started thinking about Encanto characters’ pronouns and yeah
