Title: Formula Won Author: @cardinalwrites Artist: @dreymart Rating: Teen Length: 123,778 words Pairings: Dean/Castiel, Sam/Jess Warnings: No archive warnings apply
Summary: Of all the places Castiel Novak thought he would take in his career, an internship as a Formula One Paddock Correspondent (or journalist, for short) was most definitely not one of them for a few reasons. One: He had no clue what the hell Formula One was. Two: He knew nothing about sports in general. And Three: He should not fall in love with the people he’s supposed to be asking hard-hitting questions to, least of all the head driver of one of the oldest and most well-renowned teams in the sport’s history. This is a love story told around the world through the eyes of the person that knows the least about where he has found himself in. Come follow a 20-race season finding love in the lost, learning the truth, and figuring out what the hell Formula One is along the way.

“Ready?” Castiel asks, extending his hands to either side of Dean’s head. “You’re sure about this?”
Dean dips his chin. When Castiel yet hesitates, he curls both hands around Castiel’s wrists and tugs him gently into place. “You’re fine. Do what you need to do.”

Happy happy happy happy birthday to @whelvenwings!!!! You’re the best, dude. Thanks for bringing some color into my life :)
Summary:
Castiel lives in a world of colour and sound, endlessly intertwined like two parts of a whole. As a radio broadcasting student, he runs a small segment on their campus radio program in the evening - and with help from his synaesthesia - tries to make the program more interesting by bringing in a little bit of colour. Castiel views his synaesthesia as both a gift and a curse, but after a chance encounter with a mysterious, stunning, golden-green voice, he’s starting to think that it’s more of the former.

Castiel’s world was currently a deep violet with shimmering silver overlaying in time to violins fading in and out of the composition that flooded his headphones. He closed his eyes, letting the colour wash over him until the music eventually ran its course.
“And that was Rather Be by Clean Bandit to bring a conclusion to our night and our new segment that we’re trying out.” Castiel smiled as he spoke, noting the timer on his right that said he had just thirty more seconds to sign off. “Thanks so much for all of the support for Hue Burn . In case you missed it, today’s theme was ‘Purple’.
Castiel glanced over at Anna, who was on the other side of the glass, motioning for him to wrap it up.
He tapped on the timer, showing her the fifteen seconds of airtime he was still allowed.
“As always, this is Castiel and thank you for listening to Campus Radio XM . Have a good night, and don’t be afraid to let some colour into your life.”
Castiel muted the microphone and took off his headset as they let the music playlist finish out the night.
“Sorry, I was worried you’d go over schedule again,” Anna said with an apologetic shrug as he left the recording booth.
Yellow painted itself across his train of thought as she spoke, and he couldn’t help but smile.
That was one of the reasons he liked working with Anna so much.
Of course, she was a great coworker, and always pulled her weight in the studio, and had a charming personality, but her voice was a pleasant shade of pale yellow - like freshly carved butter.
Hers was one of the more beautiful voices that he’d ever seen. Definitely in the top ten.
“What did you think of the colour today?” he asked, packing up his things.
“Super interesting. I guess I thought that purple would be more like - like jazz songs, for some reason? You chose mostly pop music.”
Castiel shrugged as he picked up his bag.
“Some jazz is purple. It depends on the song. But to me, jazz is mostly blue with some copper tones in the mix.”
Anna cocked her head to the side.
“So, what colour is Blues?”
Castiel ducked his head and chuckled, not blaming her for the confusion; it wasn’t like there was a reasonable formula to it.
“Again, it depends on the song, but Blues songs tend to be white with kind of a cloudy texture. Odd, I know.”
“No, it’s super cool!” She locked the door behind them. “I wish I had - uh - what’s it called again?”
“Synaesthesia,” Castiel supplied, and stifled a yawn.
It was always later than he wanted it to be when he finished his shift.
“Yeah, that. I wish I had that.”
“It’s both a gift and a curse.” Castiel adjusted the strap on his shoulder bag and let out a breath. “See you in class, Anna.”
He waved and headed down the hallway of the radio station.
Hi there! I’m so fucking excited about formula won (I would have put it in caps but it would feel like I’m aggressive or something) I really really hope you are still up to writing formula won. I think I have reread formula one three times. If you are going to write it, do you have any idea when it would be out? I love your writing
Hi! Thank you so much
This is honestly an extremely sweet message, thank you so much
FW was in development for about two years before it published, ever since I had finished Please Subscribe in 2015, but it was signing up for the DCBB that pushed me to finish it. I think I’ll sign up again for DCBB next year and get my ass in gear. Having deadlines help :) And having messages like this help remind me that people enjoy it enough that they’re eager for a sequel
I can’t promise it’ll be soon, but I very much am interested in continuing the series, especially because I purposely ended it the way it ends :)
tl;dr: Dean and Cas are not done racing yet!
Summary: When Castiel Novak’s sister, Kelly Kline, dies in a plane accident with her husband, getting custody of his nephew Jack should be relatively easy.
There’s just one problem. Her husband was the president of the United States. Instead of returning to his quiet life with a twelve-year-old in tow, Cas has to navigate the complications of DC life–from his brother Michael’s attempts to adopt Jack and use him as a pawn in his bid for senator-ship, to the Metro.
And of course, who could forget Jack’s head of security, Dean Winchester?
Featuring Destiel, Saileen, and Jack as the sweetest twelve-year-old on the planet.
Posting Fridays beginning June 29!

It’s finally here! This was my first year participating in the @deancasreversebang and what a time! A million thanks to my author @jupiterjames for the absolutely amazing fic they wrote. I fell in love with it within the first sentence! JJ, you are a gem <3
The thing is that everyone has a huge fucking crush on Mr. Winchester. And who could blame them? He’s gorgeous, and smart, and cool, and just an all-around great teacher. Claire has literally seen people auction off slots in his classes.
The thing is that Band needs a fuckload of money. And sure, there’s not way Mr. Winchester will ever actually be allowed to kiss minors in the name of fundraising, but having him supervise a kissing booth is the next best thing. And since the guy has a soft spot for Band because of something called American Pie, Claire manages to rope him into it.
And because her classmates are desperate fucks, and any project manned by Winchester automatically has the popular kid seal of approval, the thing is a huge goddamn success.
Which is when things get weird.
Mr. Winchester is doing a great job supervising when he suddenly decides he’s gonna man the kissing booth. Which, hey, statutory rape laws in Kansas have him legally allowed to kiss a fourteen year-old, but Claire… didn’t really think he was into that. The crowd goes wild though, which is great for business.
This is when things take a turn for the even weirder.
Because instead of some pubescent, pimply kid, a dark-haired, scruffy-looking, blue-eyed geeky professor-type walks up to the booth and slowly hands over a five dollar bill, smirking all the while. “What exactly does this get me?”
“A kiss. Just one.”
Professor-dude bites his lip, carefully dropping the money into the cash bucket and leaning forward, elbows on the table. “Am I allowed to touch?”
“Mm, I think that depends on how good a kisser you are.”
They kiss like they’ve done it thousands of times before, clerly meaning to be soft and chaste but quickly turning kinda… intense, in a way that probably isn’t super appropriate for a school carnival. When they pull away, Mr. Winchester is blushing up to his hairline, and the Professor-Man has taken to playing with his fingers. They’re murmuring low to one another, and then Mr. Winchester pushes off the booth and wraps an arm around the other guy’s waist.
Everyone is staring.
“Uh… heh, sorry, guys. Thought it’d be fun to kiss my husband at the booth. Say hi, Cas.”
“Hello.”
Claire makes a metric fuckton of money that day.
Here, have some Cas'n'Dean. It’s what’s for dinner!
It’s safe to say it was a weird day.
Well to be fair, “weird” was a relative term to begin with when it came to Dean and the world he lived in, but hey, getting a chance to live and be with the very people that made him think being in a world with monsters could be fun? That’s awesome, even if, you know, he was two-dimensional.
“Yeah, that was the weird part,” he relayed while he sat staring at the now empty area where his coveted television screen once sat.
“Dean, you have a strange taste in the odd,” Castiel merely replied, picking up the last of the fruits from the tree of life that had dropped when he had been sucked into the world.
“Dude, have you met me? Actually, no, have you met you?” Dean took the bag Cas offered him.
“That is beside the point.” Castiel moved to sit down to join Dean at staring at a blank wall. “Actually, why would I have a strange taste in the odd?”
“Because you’re odd, dumbass.”
“I’m a celestial being that saved your favorite mascot tonight and his best friend tonight. I suggest you think very clearly about the next words that are going to come out of your mouth,” Even as he spoke, there was no bite to Castiel’s words. There was only exasperation.
“Right, I guess you did, didn’t you,” Dean noted, a smile playing on his face.
Cas shrugged then like it wasn’t as big a deal as it actually was. “I was closest to the window, and cartoon physics dictated my clothing would help channel the brunt of the fall.”
“Cas, you know jack squat about cartoons.”
“I know about them. I just haven’t put the time in physically watching all of them in this life. There is a difference.”
Dean only looked at him. “Oh yeah, I guess I do have a strange taste in the odd. You’re all kinds of weird.” He knew there was no malicious intent in his words either. “We need to educate you on Scooby Doo.”
Cas only offered a small smile before he motioned to the blank wall. “You no longer have a television. We can’t watch movies in your coveted Dean-Cave.”
“No, but I got an ideal date with my laptop and bed. All I’m missing is the date part.” Dean smirked. Castiel tried his best not to roll his eyes.
“You are the weird one in this relationship.” Castiel moved to get up from the semi-uncomfortable chair. “You acted like a dog in the middle of the street.”
“Shut up.” Dean moved quickly to follow behind. “It’s what he does man. We’ll start from the greatest hits since you’ve physically met the dog. You’ll see.”
“I’m sure I will, seeing as to how I doubt I have a choice in the matter.”
“Damn straight.”
They’re voices faded into the background as they neared Dean’s room, the door closing behind them followed by the telltale sign of muffled 90s cartoons.
It’s safe to say it was a weird day, but it ended out all right in the end, thanks to those meddling kids.
HELLO YES FRIENDLY REMINDER THAT FORMULA ONE IS BACK TODAY ON YOUR TV SCREENS AND I AM FOREVER OPEN TO TALKING ABOUT IT (especially if it inspires timestamps for Formula Won depending on how the season goes 😄)

Epilogue:
.
.
Based off of this ask I sent snowprincecas:
I just want a de-aged fic where Cas and Dean are reverted back into toddlers via ~magic~ and Cas is still the same age mentally because his angelic awareness isn’t connected to his vessel’s brain, but Dean has the mind of his 3-year-old self and Sam has to tote them everywhere like an awkward single dad and Cas keeps weirding out strangers because he has the vocabulary of a grown man instead of a child and Dean has a little kid-crush on Cas and brings him gifts, like cool rocks he found… ;___;

I'm the aNon! I'm sorry, I didn't know 😌 A prompt with a letter after P? What about "Vine"? I'm still not over it!
Thank you so much for the prompt!!!! I just spent WAY too much time on Youtube watching old vines!! haha!! This was really fun write and I hope you enjoy it! ;)
Dean’s phone chirps with a new text. He opens it without looking to see who it’s from and is surprised when the link for a vine pops up. Dean clicks the link and watches a pug walk up to a butterfly and hears a girls voice say, ‘look at the butterfly Bentley.’ The pug then proceeds to eat the butterfly and run away as the girl screams at the dog. Dean laughs even harder when another text pops up saying, My day. I’m the butterfly in this scenario lol.
Dean has no idea who’s texting him but he decides not to worry about it. What’s the harm in sending vines to a random stranger? So he finds the link to a different funny vine. This one has a guy running up a ramp, like the kind obstacle courses have. The guy almost gets to the top before he face plants and slowly slides back down. You’re day must be going better than this dude’s right?
Dean sits down on his couch and waits to see if this random person will respond. A small smile plays on his lips as his phone dings again. This time the vine is two people walking down the street. The person behind the camera runs up behind one of them and jumpscares him. The guy screams and slowly merges his scream into the song ‘I’m gonna swing from the chandelier’. Dean giggles at the dude’s smooth thinking and smiles at the text that follows. I wish I was as smooth as this guy but since I’m not I’ll just rightout admit that my day’s a lot better since I met you ;)
Shoot. Dean knows he didn’t give his number to anyone new today. He feels really bad but he can’t string this person along. He’s gotta tell the truth. He sends a vine of a group of women sitting on the floor doing yoga along with the grinch. The leading woman takes a deep breath and says, ‘Release all of the sounds trapped in your mind.’ The grinch breathes out and lets out a high and super long scream. This one always cracks Dean up. He adds, Don’t be mad and feel free to release all your trapped anger on me but I’m not the person you met today. I’m pretty sure you have the wrong number :/
It doesn’t take long for another text to come through. You’re not the cute guy from the coffee shop?
Well, I am a very handsome man but sadly I’m not the one you met at the coffee shop. Just got home from work. Sorry!
Dean’s pleasantly surprised to get another vine. He opens it and starts to outright laugh. It’s the vine where Ronald McDonald goes a bit crazy and jumps up onto the counter and starts screaming ‘let’s get outa your mind’ and dumping drinks on his head. Well, looks like I’m drinking until I’m ‘outa my mind’
13.14 coda
Welcome back to our regularly scheduled programming! Ya girl is on time for once and I actually really enjoyed this episode.
If you’d like to be added to or removed from the taglist, please send me a message! <3
In hindsight, it seems obvious. But then, most big things usually do. Never noticed until impossible to ignore.
“How are you holding up, Cas?” he had asked.
“I’m fine,” Castiel replied.
And Dean hadn’t believed him. At least he can say that his instincts are still intact. “I just mean, with everything you’ve been through. I know you really want to find Lucifer.”
“No, it’s not that, it’s – well, it is that,” Castiel admitted. “But it’s also… Dean, I was dead.”
“Temporarily,” Dean allowed.
“And I have to believe that I was brought back for a reason.”
“You were,” Dean insisted, feeling his heart throb in its cage. “Kay? Jack brought you back because we needed you back.”
I need you. He’s said it so many times by now that it was just easy to remind him again.
But Castiel’s shoulders had sagged. Dean barely noted it at the time, but –
“Right,” he said, sounding almost disappointed. Weary, if anything.
“And how have I repaid him?” Castiel asked, suddenly narrowing his eyes. “I promised his mother that I would protect him, but now he’s trapped in that place while Lucifer is here, who’s – ”
He even paused to laugh.
“I mean, he’s getting stronger, more powerful by the day. And if Michael really is coming… maybe I was brought back to help prepare,” Castiel mused.
Dean had frowned. “Prepare for what?”
“War,” Castiel told him simply. Gravely. “War is what Michael does.”
Dean shrugged it off. “Well, then we do what we do. Whatever it takes.”
And he slapped Castiel on the shoulder, set off on their mission, and didn’t look back. He’s made it a habit of his to never look back.
He’s paying for that now.
So I made this game for my narratives class where we had to build a story and make it a text adventure, right.
Therefore naturally I draw inspiration from some of our favorite characters this side of the supernatural fandom and just replace their names with other spn characters. Basically, I made a destiel game just using different names.
Let’s see how long it takes for my professor to figure out I was inspired by Regarding Dean and then took a ride down the ship rabbit hole.
Update:
GUESS WHO ACED IT
Sure! TFW have different names of course, but anyone that plays will easily figure out who is based off who ;)
Let me know what you think!
