Unpopular opinion: Ephemeral was a good episode.

I'm so gonna get hate for this one

I thought Ephemeral was okay but I love the development that happened, it's just the ending for me that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. But everything else is fantastic (love the reveal scene for both Adrien and Marinette! MY BABIES!) You can love it, and that is okay! No one should hate you for liking a specific episode just because they hate it. It is uncalled for. People can have their favorites :)

I am curious though, do you like Ephemeral or Chat Blanc better?

I think Chat Blanc hit harder because it happened before (Ephemeral is nothing new to us) and I loved Chat Blanc akuma design more, all that setting and ice and all, it was a LITERAL nightmare! Also the consequences, Marinette's trauma and all. That episode really left a bigger impact on me and the ending was better, yes. But Ephemeral was more romantic. Ephemeral nailed Adrienette the way Chat Blanc never could. Idk I love them both, of course Chat Blanc is better but Ephemeral really did Love Square reveal and post-reveal justice. And that cinema scene is scary af! Gabriel looked so scary, like he came from a horror movie... I think his throwing Adrien in Chat Blanc and him throwing Marinette in Ephemeral was 1:1, that was equally painful to watch. And Marinette processing her feelings for Adrien after the reveal was one of the best scenes in ML history. But Ephemeral felt more like a filler than Chat Blanc, that's true.

I did not realize how different Adrienette was executed in each episode, but Ephemeral did such a good job with Adrienette and Marinette's "crisis" with Adrien being Chat (I cackled SO HARD!). Chat Blanc had a better impact to plot, but Ephemeral's intention was to celebrate 100 episodes OF miraculous (it was meant to be filler) and therefore, was meant to give the audience what it wanted, pure Adrienette and the reveal from Marinette's perspective.

GUYS I JUST REALIZED THAT IN BOTH CHAT BLANC AND THE CURRENT TIMELINE MARINETTE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT CHAT NOIR'S PROBLEM IS! When she traveled to Chat Blanc timeline she got the information that she hurt him and it was actually Gabriel - Chat told her she did it and Bunnyx basically confirmed it - and here she thinks it's her rejecting him what's hurting him not her keeping secrets. And it all started with people misinforming her about Chat Blanc! Oh my... The misinformation really caused a huge butterfly effect didn't it?

No, but I have a feeling many people see that already but it really hit me just now how HARD misinformation is hitting them and it started back then and it keeps getting worse ever since

Oh god, I just had a horrible thought. if I’m right and Felix gets the dog and betrays the team while pretending to be Adrien. 

What if the monster that’s created isn’t Chat Blanc.

Akuma Marinette? That’s terrifying! 

Marinette getting akumatized would be the best possible cliffhanger ever!

Jumping in here! What I cannot stand is that people discredit Chat Blanc since it was a “what if” episode, but the lasting consequences are real and are effecting the characters day by day. Look at Sentibubbler and how Marinette reacts to that. Look at her behavior towards Chat Noir after Chat Blanc. That misinformation she has is dangerous and has led to what she wanted to avoid in the first place… ouch! I wonder how Strike Back is going to address the Ladynoir conflict since it’s still prevalent.

Also, I want to see Akumatized Marinette so bad! Imagine the possibilities?
