You’ve probably seen this newspaper-style ad for Good Omens around! The Nice and Accurate News!

It features a series of headlines that tie in with the story from the book:
  • ANGELS AND DEMONS WALK THE EARTH!
  • Top Psychic Tells You How to Spot Them!
  • "I SURVIVED RAIN OF FISH!" -Trout tells of miracle getaway.

And just about everything else you can read.

Also a witty conundrum about its authors:

WORLD'S FUNNIEST BOOK WRITTEN BY TWO PEOPLE WITH ONE HEAD EACH!
Top scientists have declared themselves baffled by the astounding case of these two one-headed men. Not only do they not have any limbs or vital organs in common, but they have been separated since birth-which for Terry Pratchett occurred an amazing 12 years before the birth of Neil Gaiman! Even more astonish-ingly, they have written a book together.
"The Apocalypse has never been funnier," says Clive Barker, director, author, and famed celebrity of the Gaiman and Pratchett collaboration GOOD OMENS. "Their partnership has produced a riotous romp through Revelations, brimming with blissful daftness and wry one-liners." Incredibly, while they have between them two heads, four arms, four legs, and two torsos, these medical marvels don't look anything alike! (Full story and pictures inside.)

Someone who was selling their copy said this:

“I have never seen another of these, nor can I find any information on this very, very cool addition to the book. The book itself was given to me as a gift many year[s] ago and the paper was folded inside it. The paper is in perfect shape. As I said, this was given to me many years ago and I hate to part with it”.

This ad was apparently included during the first U.S. printing of Good Omens back in 1990 (by Workman Publishing Co.) as a promotional item!

I would love to know more about it. Perhaps someone here has more of these that they’d like to share!

@colleendoran shared these amazing closeups of the sheet with a fantastic signature there- Sir Terry Pratchett’s.

Just wanted to add this one sheet is in the office of special effects wizard Nick Nicolaou of MEG Studios who kindly allowed me to share these snaps with you here.

Thanks to Nick Nicolaou too! Really bonkers to see the sheet in its full glory!

This interview that goes back to the premiere of season 1 just details how even reporters feel the chemistry of Michael and David in the room.

This receptiveness is clear when we meet. Sounds of approval from one punctuate answers given by the other, and appreciative laughter meets every quip. Occasionally they bypass me altogether, directing their responses to each other. They re terrific actors, so you never know, but this closeness feels entirely genuine.

Jon Coffee is now Give me Coffee or give me Death- Good Omens

From Michael Ralph (season 1): “We called it 'Jon Coffee' after John Coffey in The Green Mile because I've always loved that. Don't wanna get sued for that, but I spelled it with a J-O-N, not a J-O-H-N.”

Coincidentally or not, the initials of John Coffey stand for Jesus Christ. He represents the new Messiah, someone sent to us two thousand years after by Mighty God. (Which, although the name of the shop was changed, it was very much in line with The Second Coming).

Now we know the coffee shop as Give Me coffee or give me Death, a reference to Patrick Henry.

If you have Twitter, this nice person did a recap of my IneffableCon Zoom appearance.

One small caveat is I've done the majority of the color on the GN, but did hire help on the latter portions of the book. I do color design on those pages, hand it over to a colorist, then when it comes back - if I'm lucky - I don't have to do more than tweak it. If not lucky, 1-3 hours of repaints. So thanks to Sean Lee, Logan and Lisa Lubrera, and Daniel Junior, co-colorists.

Also, amazing lettering by Lois Buhalis. I'm doing the hand lettering and some of the medieval lettering, Lois is doing the heavy lifting. Looks AMAZEBALLS.

Omg! Thank you for that! It is also here if you don’t have Twitter or X or whatever it is these days.

About a month left to go.

Thank you so much to Dunmanifestin for their kind patience while I recovered from cancer. And thank you to all the fans for your patience as well.

While I intended to color the entire project myself and did a good chunk of the book already, I'm very grateful to the colorist team who is helping me bring this project home. If I finish it all myself it would take another three months and it takes at least two months simply to run the printing press for a print run this large. And you don't want that.

Thank you to Sean Lee, Logan and Lisa Lubrera, and Daniel Junior.

Thank you also to Lois Buhalis whose lettering is fantastic.

For obvious reasons, I am focusing entirely on this and not getting into anything else online. So don't drag me into anything, don't even try. Because my assistant is screening everything, and I need that shield.

As you all know, times have been difficult beyond belief, but I owe it to the fans and the family of Terry Pratchett to do right by this project.

Thirty days from now I'll be walking away, with gratitude, with sadness, and with hope.

That's all.

Good Omens Graphic Novel: a summary of some details from the Ineffable Con.

I took so long to post this, but this are some of the key-points that @colleendoran mentioned during the last Ineffable Con! I had done another recap here as well from the previous one.

  • She also showed us a sneak peek of Atlantis and some images from Shadwell!
  • Showed us some original sketches. (Probably will be put up for auction next year)
  • There will be some big frames of Adam (2 pages) and of Aziraphale thinking about the people on magic mushrooms. On 11x 14 paper.

Again, cannot mention how much of a warrior, badass Colleen has been for bringing this graphic novel to life.

A couple of points Colleen added to this!

A Matter of Life and Death- is Good Omens

According to Douglas Mackinnon: “Michael's character's voice [Aziraphale] is based on David Niven in A Matter of Life and Death. I think he'd say that himself, that it's a huge influence at least, if not based on.”

“There's one particular scene where he definitely went all the way into David Niven, in the pub scene. You know, that's there.”

What’s particularly interesting is that Powell and Pressburger were not that visibly apparent until season 2 of Good Omens, yet there were bits already intermingled in season 1.

“A matter of life and Death”happens to be Michael Sheen’s favorite film,

In which his favorite romantic scene happens to be one where mostly talking is involved:

And knowing that his speech was greatly influenced by David Niven and thus part of it incorporated into Aziraphale, what can we say about Crowley, whose hairstyle when they first ever meet is inspired on Kim Hunter?

In a way, they have always been embodying this love story from A Matter of Life and Death. Perhaps not exactly the characters, but indeed the love between them. Not to mention the countless references to the film that seeped into Good Omens 2.

There is no doubt as to the ending of these two. “Nothing is stronger than the law in the universe, but on Earth, nothing is stronger than love." Ultimately, it is love that ties Good Omens together.
