Ok so I want to say it for posterity in case I actually publish my work one day;

I did not take inspiration from mouthwashing for my book. I came up with the story several years before mouthwashing came out. I'm not accusing the developers of copying me, of course, as I've never shared my lore with anyone before. It would be unrealistic to claim that I've been "stolen" from. I find mouthwashing an incredibly well written game, and I wish its creators nothing but the best. Genuinely. I'm so happy it's getting the attention it's getting.

I'm writing this because, if my work becomes public, it will be several years in the future, and I don't want to get accused of copying something I didn't even know yet.

This is unfortunately the sole "proof" I can give of this. Me mentioning my character in a translated whatsapp message from 2022. It's not much to back up my claims. Hell, it's barely anything at all, I know.

Again, I have nothing against mouthwashing nor the team that worked on it.

1) Does your OC have a voice claim, if so who?

I haven't found a precise voice claim for Pripyat or Darien yet. I'd say that the closest one I could find would be Буерак, for Alexei, but it's not 100% accurate. (Take Спортивные очки as example)

For Darien, I'd say just a genetic 12 year old voice with a bit of an afro-american accent. Maybe a voice similar to Erica Sinclair from stranger things (I haven't seen that show though, so my memory from the vague clips I saw in 2021 could not be accurate) but a little bit more low and certainly more quiet.

20) If they fight, what's their weapon of choice?

The only character who'd fight is Emily, who'd fight with her purse for self defense since she's practically homeless for a good chunk of her story. Alexei was a bit aggressive too, especially when drunk, but I wouldn't say he's a fighter. Especially not anymore. (I have to say that I refer to Alexei as the who he was before the Chernobyl accident, and Pripyat the one he became afterwards.)

So far, the only one set in stone is Nikolai's as Will wood (see me/myself/i). I don't know about him too much but, from what I've seen, he has the absolute same energy and intonation of his voice as what I've imagined for Nikolai.

Isaiah and Emily are matching with the voices of the singers of the bring me to life song. I'm not able to elaborate though

3) What song describes your OC?

Oooh that's an interesting one!

Nikolai's is "Fish in a birdcage". I feel like it represents how she views himself and her intersexuality, especially when she was younger. Cause, you know, growing up intersex and visibly queer in 1970s USSR probably wasn't very fun.

Pripyat's "Судно". Like, the doomer-esque vibe and the lines about the hospital are accurate about his lore and his views on life and his recovery.

Emily's "Good luck, babe!" Because of course it is, she's a sex worker who's actually a lesbian.

Darien's "Everbody's Gotta Live" because I feel like it fits her and her newfound peace after years of troubled time in the foster system.

And, last but not least, Isaiah's song is "All around me". Again, because of course it is. As goth and alternative as he is, he's still a priest after all.

30) My OC and your OC are friends. This isn't a question. I'm not asking. (How do they respond?)

(I'm interpreting this as they've already been friends for some while, and not like they just met)

Pripyat would be really cold towards you, but he'd care a lot. He'd buy you trinkets or draw you sometimes, yet almost never let you see him smile.

Nikolai would be really hyped and talk to you nonstop. Bring you places, organize parties for you (if you're into this), etcetera.

Darien would build you bracelets and/or show you nice stuff she likes (like cool rocks or pretty flowers). She'd also ramble nonstop about frogs

Emily would lower her guard with you and be much less hostile. She'd be comfortable talking with you and acting less sexual around you. Overall, her relationship with you would be much more wholesome than what you'd have if you met her on the streets.

Isaiah would be really open with you, letting you vent and taking care of you when you're down. He'd share his music with you and listen to your recommendations, and even bring you to concerts with him if you want.

Nikolai's proportions are shit I know but my motivation went to Brazil halfway through the project
