When a new showrunner comes along, fans often wonder whether their favourite characters will be making a comeback. Sadly we never got to see Captain Jack during Moffat’s run, and it seems that some of our favourite characters created by the Moffat won’t be making any more appearances.
In an interview with The Times, Chris Chibnall has confirmed that we will not be seeing River Song, Missy, The Paternoster Gang or Weeping Angels in the show again - or at least during his run.
He also promised that there will be no Daleks or Cybermen for ‘a while’.
How will Doctor Who fair without two of its biggest villains? And any of Chibnall’s new foes become regulars in the same way the Weeping Angels did? As always, only time will tell.
