The Dark Crystal always depicted dark and tragic things, that's why its a very impactful series for some. I dont know why people come at you for SkekAth's story when a lot of skek ocs have some form of tragic story. The skeksis and urru are both ancient species, of course it would be harder to have viable pregnancies. Im very sorry for how you've been treated
Yes! I totally agree! That’s the beauty of TDC for me. It’s able handle darker subject material in a very mature and special way that even little kids can understand. And it does so without talking down to its audience or trivializing things. I try to do the same when it comes to the darker aspects of my own stories and characters. Finely tuning things so they make sense, and most importantly, are meaningful.
Thank you so much for your kind words and this little conversation. It really means a lot to me. Hopefully as more people are talking about this treatment some people are getting, drama will die down and we can all just enjoy our funny fantasy puppets again.

The WIP comes from a refsheet I’m working on for Adult SkekAth, aka “The Linguist.” I only get about two hours to draw each day at the moment due to work, but I’ve been focusing the hardest on this, a child ref sheet of him, my DTIYS, and my Ath character interactions at the moment.

To celebrate a whole year of being in the Dark Crystal fandom, I’m gonna be hosting my own themed month for this little Crawlie! As a sign of appreciation, and a celebration of a whole year of improvement with you wonderful people!

SkekAth’s birthday is February 29th. (Which will be the 28th for 2021 since it’s not a leap year.) I choose this date because that’s the day I made him up! But the event will extend into early March.
The gist of this event is that we’re gonna get a lot of stuff coming out about him! From Ref Sheets, Lore, to a Full fledged DTIYS on my instagram! (More details will come out once the piece is done.)

There will also be fun QnA’s throughout the month about my experiences with the Dark Crystal. Where you can ask me anything! And later down the line, I will have input from YOU on how my art for the rest of the month should go! Yes! You specifically! This will be during a period of time where I will be drawing him with canon characters. And explaining his views or relationship with said canon character. There are no limits to characters once these are available. From Mother Augrah, to the one-eyed Stonewood guard from episode 6. As long as they’re in the main canon + Creation Myths, anything goes!
