"Oh please, when has any of my requests gone wrong? Don't be a coward and join us."
Roevember 4: Ship
"Look, at that cloud, Merl! Don't you think it looks just like a chocobo?"
"I think you look like a chocobo's arse, Captain."
I hailed from the Azim Steppe, born into the Dotharl tribe. A tribe whose beliefs did not align with my own - whatever those may be. My father was a fierce but caring Xaela warrior - as am I - and my mother was a Sea Wolf who travelled the land and seas as a merchant - I'm no merchant, but I'm decent at bargaining with them. I know not how they met, nor how they loved, but they loved me. I recall a long journey with my parents to Thanalan, one to escape the life that the Dotharl expected me to live. Load of fuckin' horseshit, if you ask me. Who expects a CHILD to live up to that? Soul of a past warrior be damned! I enjoyed my sneaky visits to the Qestir significantly more, and some of their habits may have rubbed off on me too. I love the Steppe. I did not like the Dotharl's belief's. I make and live my own life, I am no one else but myself, and I no longer doubt this... I gotta thank a certain wonderful amaro in The First for helping me realize it. I forge my own path. Visits are usually bittersweet, especially when something compels me to check in on the tribe from afar. At the very least, I know Sadu sorely misses our spars after I had met her during my first return here.
roevember 2: roots
Bounding Frog accidentally sending the Botanist's Guild into a tailspin when she says she wants to see when a Caelumtree pops out of the ground and they're like what do you mean when a what whats? And she's like you know the trees in the chocobo forest in Dravania which are on stilts? There aren't any which are halfway out the ground and the rocks around them really suggest quite an explosive force of exit from the ground so they probably pop out all in one go and they're like Bounding Frog honoured member of our guild if you are not just making this all up, go document a baby Caelumtree popping out of the ground.
And that's how she spends a week asking around everywhere trying to find literally anyone to verify her theory until Vidofnir tells her the story of an elezen from a thousand years ago who never managed to prove they did this either, at which point she decides never go to back to the Botanist's Guild.
wishing a happy Roevember to all my fellow Roegadyn players! here is my special boy <3
"Don't be shy, now. Come, have a drink with me."
Styr in Tuliyollal setting up more business opportunities. Won't you share a drink and meat stick with him?
"Not often do I get to explore the same mountains I used to run around as a kid. Still as beautiful, and as cold as I remember them being. One of the perks of living in the middle of nowhere, Coerthas. A great view, and gaining a resistance to the frost."
Roevember 2024, Day 2: Roots
Ena doesn't really have a place she can call home since she travels a lot, being the Warrior of Light and all, but she enjoys visiting libraries. The books and the overall atmosphere are relatively similar and comforting, no matter the place.
Styr and his beloved wife, @the-white-snake's Lia Amelune, putting down new roots in his life. He's never been one to settle down anywhere or with anyone, but when Lia came into his life that all changed. There's nothing on this star that makes him as happy as Lia does!
(just married - teleport ring acquired)
(also be sure to bug @the-white-snake for the pics they took, they were really good)
The start of Roevember! Say hello to my darling pirate innocent merchant captain Styrdraga Rhetikympfsyn, or Styr for short, captain of the vessel the Enduring Deeds. He's a man who knows what he wants, and what he wants is to grow his merchant empire.
On a personal note, I'm excited for Roevember! I have been neglecting the poor captain long enough. Time to correct that.
Ryssrael Waenwyn - [Giant][Doe] [Wind][Daughter]
To the ears of other Roegadyns, "Waenwyn" would sound slightly wrong. It is missing something. After all, "Waen" is too short to be a father's name. Is it a shortened name, a fake name, an orphan's name perhaps? It is not the only name she used to hand out if asked, but it is the one that stuck. She quite likes it - fitting for an adventurer, if you asked her.
"The name's Coiled Cedar, but you can call me Cici."
Roevember, Day 1 - Name
Fornax Val'ethtue - or Fyrstyrn (Fire Star) Dotharl, if following the naming conventions of Roegadyn and Au Ra. “Fornax” is Latin for “furnace,” and is also a constellation. One might believe that they are a Hellsguard, but they’re a Sea Wolf! Curious.(I definitely did not originally look at Roe names when I first made her. shhh)The embodiment of an immovable object that harnesses and is driven by their strong emotions, their rage, their need to love and survive. One of two of Hydaelyn's fiercest champions, Fornax lives up to their title through and through. Despite intimidating appearances and all, she bears a deeply caring and loving, adventurous heart. One may find them being happily smothered by the stray cats of Limsa...
a little written intro to accompany the name prompt! say hi to my beloved butch au roe, fornax :)
Time to start doing these. Here's Iris sitting in a field of flowers.
