He’s incredible, honestly. I aspire to be as brave as him one day lmao. I think you’re right and that it says a lot about him that he still wears the necklace at all, let alone wear it out. I don’t even know what else to say, he’s just an amazing human being.
I love his boldness too. One of my favorite things about him is that he is so irreverent and defiant in how he approaches the entitled attitudes of others. The more people seem to want to control or influence his behavior the more he seems to want to show he’s not their puppet.
And if GG gave it to him, that’s all the more reason he’d be, “Fuck y’all you’re not going to stop me from wearing this.”
Whatever the true origin of the necklace, I love that he’s wearing it openly again. He can wear what he wants. I love that he knows that and isn’t allowing himself to be bullied into dropping it. I love that he clearly doesn’t GAF about others seeing him as gay. It’s tougher as an actual gay to do that.

I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel like both of them are giving off more and more “idgaf what you think” attitude. Like a year ago, I would say gg is still trying to be more hidden in some ways. But his recent interview where he was like “Good luck” to someone being single….LOL Maybe after seeing all the nasty things in the industry, the just decide to be more bold and stop caring what others think of them.

XZ really threw me for a loop with that response this week. He’s still careful, but he’s learned a lot too.
It’s not surprising that he used to be very lenient towards his fans; his journey into the industry makes it that way. I’m sure he was shocked at the number of fans he’d gained at the start of his career, and I’m sure it was even more jarring when the number skyrocketed after staying stable for the first couple of years.
It makes sense that he’d want to protect his success. His success in his previous career is so different from his success as a celebrity. Fame is easy to lose, and when that pays the bills, keeping up the success is a necessity. And, in the beginning, success is very much tied to the number of fans someone has, especially because that someone will have less experience and less say in the industry.
His kindness and gratefulness for his fans has never been and will never be an act, but he has most definitely suppressed a lot of anger (and other emotions) at some of the things some fans have done, specifically after CQL (i.e. making him miss a flight and having to stay in the airport overnight). I highly doubt he’ll show anger outright or even slyly, but I definitely expect him/ his studio to act harsher when dealing with fans who cross the line. (They’re already starting to.)
The last couple of months were the breaking point. Now that he’s back for good AND has a very stable platform, he can let himself be a bit more free in terms of fans and fan interactions. He has good merit backing him up now.

Lan Xichen and Wei Wuxian are the only two people who can really read Lan Wangji’s face (and Lan Sizhui to a lesser extent). Being able to tell his brother’s moods had always been a good thing for Lan Xichen. That was, until Wei Wuxian came to stay at the Cloud Recesses. Because he can’t not see it. He can’t not see the exorbitant, excessive, and frankly unfair number of times his baby brother (and chief cultivator but that’s less important) walks in and he can just tell. five minutes before this, they were fucking. Not only does he not need or want detailed information on when, where, and how often his baby brother is getting laid, but no one else around him has any clue, and no one is left alive who would believe him if he told them (who he is on speaking terms with). And Lan Xichen always. knows.
There has even been a time or two where it was just him, or just him and Lan Jingyi, when Lan Wangji walked in and Lan Xichen just looked at him. Disgusted. and said “seriously? it’s 10 am! you were gone for less than fifteen minutes!”
