You were allowed to walk about in some parts of the asylum unaccompanied during free time. You didn’t need permission to go down this corridor.

But it still made you uneasy when you were on your own. 

Russell, one of the newer orderlies, was watching you from the end. Seemingly waiting for you to walk past him. You swallow.

Steven looked what he'd created. His assistant, Jake Igor Lockley stood at his right, hands still dirty from all the time he'd spent digging graves for the doctor's...projects.

"Isn't he simply brilliant?" The doctor asked, mouth slightly gaping at the sight before him.

"Mm, not too bad Doc, though I have to say, I think you can do better." Jake said with a half-hearted chuckle.

"Yeah? Better than making an entire man from flesh and bone?" He looked at his assistant incredulously.

Jake nodded, pursing his lips with a cocky smirk, looking at the creature the doctor had made.

"Oh yeah, we could do much better..."
