It has been 15 years since you are gone Baby Girl and each and every year is as hard as previous one. We still catch ourselves on wondering what if? This day proves to be the hardest one, but we swore to ourselves to not cry, but to cherish your life. Rest in peace, we love you and miss you... Always.
Damon posted this on his Instagram today ♥
@duskopoppington "You will always be with me and I feel you protect me every day...I know I'm the coolest because your the one that told I was... I miss my best friend every day not just today I love you."
We haven't lost anyone. We've only gained an angel...
On this special day all we want to say is that we miss you dearly Baby Girl and we thank you for everything you did to us. Thank you for each song, and for each smile, thank you for giving us faith that if we really want something, there's nothing that can stop us, thank you for teaching us that nothing comes easy and we have to work our hardest to be our best, you're the best teacher...
Having you in our lives is truly a blessing, and we will keep you in our hearts forever...This day is never easy, but we're not going to cry, instead we are going to celebrate your beautiful life and legacy like we do it every single day...
Rest in Paradise our sweet Angel... ♥
The boat had a room and Aaliyah was in this one room, she was sleeping. And I remember like, "wow...she looks so beautiful", so I went up I got really close, and took a picture of her, she never woke up or anything. The picture is beautiful...of her just lying there, sleeping.

Damn babygirl, it’s been 12 years huh? And it’s still weird, it’s 2013 and your Presence can still be felt everywhere, those so called Artists these days got nothing on you babygirl, never. Your Legacy will live on forever, legends never fully leave this place. You truly were one in a billion.
I Love You, Rest in Peace
(Also Rest in Peace to everyone that passed with her in that fateful accident, and thanks to maximum-aaliyah for that beautiful picture of Babygirl. Edit is by me)
The most amazing Aaliyah Tribute we have ever seen...
Sabrina Riboulin from France shares her beautiful Aaliyah Story..
August 25th, 2013: 12 years without You..
In the relatively short time this talented musical artist and budding film star spent with us, she made more than a mere impact. "I want people to remember me as a full-on entertainer, and a good person," Aaliyah once said - and admirers regarded her as much, much more. With her passion for show business and her amazing level of maturity, she lived her life to the fullest and loved every minute of it. "To get what you want out of life...it's important to have self confidence. My mom and dad always told me, 'the room should light up (when you enter) or you won't make any sparks at all,' " Aaliyah once told SBH. Determined to be the best, the star never failed to light up every room she walked into, whether she was with friends, family or a sea of fans.

Came To Give Love would like to share thoughts and feelings about Baby Girl…
Katty: 12 years have passed since Aaliyah left this world physically. Every single day I am trying to focus on all of the amazing things that she left us here, on Earth. When I watch her videos, interviews or anything related to her, I smile and take a journey to former years.
She was truly that somebody, somebody who was so special, so talented, but still remained the same sweet person. She always had a big smile on her face, which could light up the darkest room.
She always appreciated her fans, she always appreciated everything which surrounded her. You could tell, just by looking at her, that she loves life, that she values every second of it. She always pushed herself hard, because she was determined to achieve her dreams. Everything she did, was preceded by hard work. Everything she did came from her heart. Everything she touched turned into gold. She was so true as an artist, also as a person. She was shining bright from the very beginning.
She's not really gone. She lives in her music, in her family's and friend's hearts and of course in fan's hearts. She's present, although she cannot be seen.
I truly believe that she's somewhere out there, looking down on us and giving us one of her most beautiful smiles.
I am grateful for her. Grateful for her music, for everything that she gave me through it. Everything that she taught me. She proved that no matter who you are, you can always achieve your goals. Still, she remained the same sweetheart. She truly was. Aaliyah was not only beautiful outside but what's more important, she had a beautiful soul.
Aaliyah will always be my idol. She'll always have a special place in my heart. She is a true role model. Every year without her is harder than previous one. Every day without her is harder. Today, we have one of the most sorrowful days.
Thank you Aaliyah for everything. I won’t ever forget you.
Marta: It's been 12 years...12 years since you passed away Baby Girl. Words can't describe how I feel about you Aaliyah, how much I owe you & how much I love you.
I think what makes Aaliyah so special is not only her great, timeless music and unique style, but simply a great & beautiful woman she was...So sweet, so humble, honest, she was just a good person. I always admired how beautiful and full of love relationship she had with her parents and her brother...they were always there for her & she was always there for them, and that is not so common when it comes to show business families, actually it's kind of a rare thing. No matter how big she was, she never forget where she is coming from & family values were her priority. Her speech at VMA 2000 was so smart- best, out of all the winners- that was her evening, out of three nominees she won 2 awards! She took her brother on stage and said: "My brother Rashad I love you, you're my everything." Every success she achieved, she shared with her family, and always thank them for all of the support she received.
There is truly no one like Aaliyah and never will be. The woman "who never let the trappings of celebrity go to her head." She never complained about anything, she knew what comes within fame, it's not always glamour & fun, but most of the time it's hard work, and a lot of sleepless nights. Still Aaliyah was so happy about her career, she was that true artist with a big purpose, she wanted to make things that mean something, and obviously she did. She wanted people to know real Aaliyah, music for money was something she was never interested in. It was something she loved with all of her heart, that's why she was so good in it... It was obvious she is going to follow the path of artists like Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston or Barbra Streisand.
Aaliyah taught me that life is not going to be easy, and that I should work my hardest to be the best, and if I won't believe in myself, no ones gonna do that for me. She's not only my of all time favorite artist, she's someone way more, my role model, my idol. I can't imagine my life without her in it. I'll never accept the fact she had to leave, but no days go by I'm not thinking of her, how her life would be now, in what movies she would starred in or how many albums she would released, if she had kids & being a happy wife..one thing is sure, she's very much alive in my heart, and always will be.
Legends never die, and Aaliyah is one of them...
Everything is worth it. The hard work, the times when you're tired, the times where you're a bit sad... In the end, it's all worth it because it really makes me happy. There's nothing better than loving what you do.
I want people to remember me as a full on entertainer, someone who can do it all & a good person.
