Finally have a design for the sigils that I actually like. Like actually LIKE like. Only took me yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaars. They look random but believe it or not the designs have meaning behind them. I’d be here all afternoon but basically they kinda tell the story of them as Makers. There was a 4th Maker but they’re dead and their role isn’t as grandiose as the rest but I might get to it one of these days.

The sigils can be used as a way to buff spells and incantations making them extremely powerful. They can also be used as protection or to ward off enemies.

The thing is it's 50/50 on whether it'll work in your favor or against you. The use of them without permission is what can be considered "sacrilegious". Tattooing them, burning then, scribbling them or scarring them into one's own skin is about the single worst thing you can do to yourself. You're opening yourself up to every kind of attack and the Maker that the sigil belongs to will feel some type of way and to say the least will fuck you up in ways you cannot even imagine.

So like I said on my previous post I wanted to info dump about my good boi in his not so good boi form.

BUT before that I do wanna apologize about sounding like a self-entitled asshole but I say this because I'm hyper protective of my stuff. I've been working with this for 21 years so to say I'm protective is an understatement.

So...

  1. The info is in regards to the werewolves in MY setting. While I took a fuck ton of inspo from different folklore I kinda threw a wrench into the engine and put my own twist in it.
  2. This species like every other species and/or breed as well as EVERYTHING in Oracle Corp is closed. Meaning the only people that can insert a character or what have you into Oracle Corp if they so choose are long term mutuals of this site and this site alone.
  3. General info on my werewolves can be found over here. I should update this site more, the forum is priceless for world building info...

So with that bit outta the way...

Werewolves have a pretty bad rep but at the same time they are savage balls of uncontrollable rage that need to rip anything that moves into pieces so it's kinda well earned. But none of the five breeds have a worse rep than the Crossed Breed. Why? Rumors, misinformation and a lot of disinformation.

There was a lot of info about the Crossed Breed before the first Crossed Breed was ever even born. And yes, all that info was 100% wrong.

Why? Cuz whether they're werewolves or human people like to act as if they know everything and take everything they hear at face value. But in all seriousness for the longest time werewolves had been at each other's throats since their conception and at the beginning the four different breeds hated each other but the Howling Ghosts and Outsiders took it to a whole new level after the HGs drove out the Outsiders from their homes. Since then those two breeds have been out for blood with one another.

With time all four breeds mellowed out and began to heal as a community and extended their pack mentality beyond that of their breeds. Howling Ghosts mingled with Mist Walkers, Silver Sights lived with Howling Ghosts, Outsiders roamed with Mist Walkers, in short they all banded together as one big species instead of one big breed...except for Howling Ghosts and Outsiders! Those two breeds refused to get along.

But not everyone shared that same mentality and occasionally you'd find HG and Outsider couples meeting in secret or running away together. This obviously didn't sit well with a lot of the elders so couples were hunted down and killed.

Now, it's possible for werewolves of a different breed to have pups lol baby werewolves but this is super hard and takes a lot of trying which leads to a lot of financial strain and heartbreak. However, those lucky few who do have a pup will find that the breed the baby comes out as will be the breed of the person who birthed it. This is set in stone, it's been tested over and over again and the results are always and will always be the same.

Howling Ghosts and Outsiders though have an even lesser chance to produce a pup. Hate for each other has been so strong it probably wormed itself into their DNA or something. Who knows, I don't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As of this year 2024 (actually canon due to a story) the Crossed Breed was renamed to Moonborne.

Okay, so I'm gonna try and maybe clear up some questions that short I posted might've created. Hopefully I can cover everything but if not asking is totally fine, I have fun answering Oracle questions.

1. What are slayers and knights? What's their issue?

Slayers formed around the late 200s C.E., back then they were small and mostly just pissed off humans who were sick of being fed on by vampires and werewolves. Around the height of the Constantinian dynasty they gained more members only this time it wasn't exactly full of people just mad that non-humans fed on humans. It was christian fanatics taking shit to the extreme. Any non-human wasn't safe around them because as soon as a slayer learned that someone was non-human they'd slaughter them regardless of age, gender, social standing, threat level or any reason really.

Basically they justified their ethnic cleansing (let's be honest, that's what it is) on their religion thinking every non-human was the spawn of the devil or some such shit.

Then around the late 800s they formed into this group calling themselves the Council of the Knights, this was formed and led by exceptional slayers. Those that were better at hunting down non-humans were promoted to knights.

Now, knights and slayers have the same goals but their methods differ. Knights will use SOME arcane artifacts and they are also responsible for the extinction of species such as the original wulver. The modern wulver is a mix of werewolf but specifically Silver Sights force bred with the last remaining wulvers. Knights are the reason there are so few Silver Sights. The breed never fully recovered their numbers after that mess. To be perfectly honest there's also a bit of jealousy that none of them ever will admit to. They also hunt down and kill humans who associate with non-humans claiming that they're tainted in the eyes of their lord or whatever nonsense they wanna use as an excuse.

They're not a great bunch. They recruit ONLY humans and basically among their ranks are some of the worst kind of humans you can think of. Use your imagination.

2. Why were there slayers and knights in Norway?

They're like cockroaches. They're everywhere. Everywhere they hear there's non-humans they go.

Now, the village Loke and Jelani were born in was chuck full of Oracle familiars, Haakon and his father and his father's father had long been aware of Oracle and they helped in anyway possible and had become familiars. They were even approached to join but they preferred to stay as familiars.

*That's how you join Oracle. You're first made a familiar and after a while if Oracle sees potential in you they ask if you wanna join. There ARE exceptions to that rule like Angelus and Uthorim and others who skip the familiar stage and go straight to agents AFTER 2 years of training.

The village had become a sort of safe haven for non-humans and humans of all kinds. So naturally they set their sights on Norway. They didn't know which village was the one they were looking for so naturally they raided every village they could find. From 874 to about 890 it was a bloody time to be in that country but Oracle lent aid and Haakon, Ingvarr, Jørgen, Sanaa, and Loke as well as many others did what they could to drive them off as well as help each other and anyone that was affected. This was how Loke became a familiar.

3. Who was that woman that just suddenly appeared in the camp?

Short answer: slayers and knights hire women as scouts, they use them to sort of map out areas or get information from them. They cannot join but women who have the same mentality pretty much help out in other ways.

Long answer: that was Iain. No, she didn't know Jelani was even reborn to begin with or that he was even there, she knew he eventually would be. She just used slayers and knights to keep an eye on any potential sightings of him. She saw that slayers and knights had a huge interest in Norway at that time and proceeded to investigate.

4. Why did Haakon know about the feather? Aren't beserkers (excluding arcanist berserkers) not good at magic?

They are totally not magically inclined. Like, at all. Loke is a fluke. A once in a blue moon situation.

However, Haakon was a very sensitive man. He could feel things and even had a lot of dreams that most often either came true or warned him of things to come. The night before the boys took off he had weird dreams and he knew something bad was gonna happen to Loke but didn't know what and how.

5. Speaking of the feather. What happened to it afterwards?

Oh, Loke still has it. Like, now in 2023 he still has that feather. It hasn't broken or deteriorated at all. It is still in pristine condition and yes, it is still cold.

No, no one knows about that feather, not even Jelani. At least not yet. He keeps it safely hidden in a box in his closet.

Since that event he's been really fond of anything involving feathers and why I doodle him with something feather like on him or use anything that has feathers on him in games.

6. So Loke was resurrected?

Yes...plus something else. He won't age anymore. At all. He's kinda...stuck for lack of a better word. Yes, berserkers age but very slowly, in fact, they age slower than werewolves do and yes, they can be very, very long lived. Caveat is that they are a warrior species and most die by the blade. They can also die of diseases as well.

Now, Loke's not undead. He's very much alive and everything works as intended. It's just that he's...frozen in time?...holy shit, I don't really know how to explain this well. Point is he's not undead but he won't physically age.

He still has all of his conditions, you know, the allergies, hemophilia, asthma, then around the very early 1900s his eyesight was compromised and had to wear glasses, and whatever else happens to him. Then got hit with astigmatism in the early 2000s. So shit can still go wrong.

He can be injured, he's broken several bones, torn ligaments, muscle tissue, hammer to the right side of his face caused him to lose three lower molars and had to replace them. He's had plenty of asthma attacks and allergic reactions since then. But he won't grow old.

So what was that something else? Not only will he not grow old, he can't die. No matter what, he can't die. Well, not permanently at least. If mortally injured he'll die for a bit, how long depends on the severity of the injury and the damage done. He'll come back on his own. The only way he'll permanently die is if Jelani dies.

And no, no else knows that he can't die. Not even Jela. At least not until Jela gets his memories unlocked by Jericho and even then he won't reverse it.

Aside from not being able to die or physically age the only other change are his eyes in berserker mode. All berserkers tend to have their eyes faintly glow in whatever color their natural eye color is but from that point onward Loke's irises and sclera turn red. The same red that Jelani's eyes are in his form. If Lo only conjures a weapon his eyes only change color. If he goes full berserker his pupils change to look exactly like Jelani's in his other form.

Everyone questions it for a long ass time but eventually they chuck it up to an injury. Loke thinks it's a side effect of what Jelani did. He doesn't care, he's chill about it.

Technically Jelani did bring him back from the dead but it's more like he brought him back from the dead and now part of him is in him (yeah, I know how this sounds. Relax lol) and yes, because of the bloody shard. Also the crown is sort of part of Jela's physical form and once it was in Lo it dissolved into him.

7. Why was part of the crown broken?

Long ass story but it had to do with what Jelani did in his previous life. Concept of Existence broke it and embedded into the right side of his face.

8. Was Jelani allowed to do that?

Yeah.

But no but then again who cares? He doesn't. Thing is Makers are supposed to make sure existence continues and resurrection of a mortal is frowned upon. Why? If Jelani did it with one person then maybe another Maker will do it with another. Maybe a third Maker does it with several other people and before you know it shit's gone completely out of balance because then no one will die.

Also to other Makers attachment is fucking weird and the fact that Jelani gave part of himself to Loke is weird as fuck so when a Maker learns of what he did they're seriously weirded out.

9. Why did Jela bring back Lo but not Haakon?

Jelani can't just bring back people unless he switches to his other form or until he gets his memory unlocked. Even then he did it once and he can't risk doing it again. Would he do it again though? Yeah, he doesn't care.

Also Loke is Loke.

10. Why did he switch into his other form?

Being able to switch to his other form before he unlocks his memories is involuntary. It's sort of a last line of defense thing put in place to protect him. What activates it? Fear but off the charts levels of fear and anxiety. Like almost to the levels of a heart attack.

So yeah, 10-year-old Jelani seeing his older brother covered in his own blood telling him to leave him behind, run and not look back no matter what he hears freaked him the fuck out thus it counted as an emergency.

11. So what happened after they got back home?

Loke sat down with Haakon and asked him about the frozen feather and after a while of both kind of testing each other to see what the other knew Loke told him a little. He didn't say he had died as that would freak Haakon out, he just said he had been injured. Both kept what they knew to themselves to protect Jelani though Haakon always knew Jelani was something else, something otherworldly but he didn't care, he still loved him all the same and was always so proud of him. Throughout his life Haakon saw little clues and each one brought him lots of joy.

12. Why couldn't Jelani remember switching forms, fighting off the slayers and resurrecting Loke?

'Cause his memories weren't unlocked yet and he only switched to that form as an emergency.

Oracle Number Stations:

Messages are transmitted through existing stations. However, Oracle uses magic to transmit messages at the same time the original message is being played. It works by playing the message through another plane of existence (using the Pauli exclusion principle to justify this) and a translater is needed to translate the sounds that ONLY werewolves can hear.

Oracle number stations are referred to as "k9 clickers", some have taken to calling it "k9 radio" and they relay agent positions, enemy movements, information acquired at the last minute, safe house locations, abnormal occurrences, portal activity, deity anomalies, and so on.

The messages are played alongside a strange cacophany of static noises that are set in place as a type of security measurement. Anyone that is not meant to hear the message will fall victim to arcane attacks that target the mind. Symptoms include distortion, visual and auditory hallucinations, flashing lights and finally the victim blacks out for a period between 24 to 28 hours with no memory of what happened.

The messages are coded using a language that was discovered in a book belonging to an explorer back in the mid 300s CE. Supposedly the explorer had gained entry to the fabled land of Kironia (a land supposedly under Antarctica and reaching as far as Point Nemo) and the runes and language is Kironian. After 800 years the language was translated and Oracle was given the book and the translations as Scholars thought it was too dangerous to have it made public (most likely misplaced paranoia). Since the rise of radio communications Oracle has used the runes and language as a way to spread information among themselves.

Saw a post and was instantly inspired to do the same.

Little Oracle details:

  1. Duga 3 DOES exist. Oracle just hasn't found it yet.
  2. Oracle and Scholars are confused as to why people believe Atlantis USED to exist. It hasn't been founded yet.
  3. The Appalachian and Carpathian mountains are made of "dragon" bones.
  4. DO NOT TRAVEL THROUGH NORWEGIAN FJORDS. If you must travel through one never use your real name, never look behind you, travel through it as fast as you can. Once you enter a fjord you cannot go back the way you came. May Óðinn grant you the strength you need to make it to the other side.
  5. A colossal deity circles the Earth. If She was to stop for a single second something will find us.
  6. She's been forced to stop three times already. The thing is looking in our direction.
  7. There is no way to know when and where a portal entrance will activate. There is no way tell where it'll send you.
  8. A woman once stabbed and wounded a god of gods and imprisoned Them in a maze inside a cave inside a portal in Africa. If They ever regain Their strength and find a way out the sun will whither and the day will die.
  9. There's something hiding in El Yunque. Don't look for it.
  10. Deities live among you, they look just like everyone else.
  11. In 1921 the U.S. government lost a numbers station. Last time it was seen was in 2012 near Yellowstone. Only the leader and acting leader of Oracle know its location at all times.
  12. If you ever find yourself in the woods late at night and hear the sound of violins immediately make your way to the nearest shelter, do not look up at the trees. It is not a violin.
  13. The world ended once, it's just that no one remembers it.
  14. The Tunguska Event was not caused by a comet, nor an asteroid, nor a meteor air burst. It was [REDACTED] when he summoned [REDACTED].
  15. The Roswell Incident was a fabrication to distract the U.S. government. It worked.
  16. The Chelyabinsk meteor was actually the start of an invasion. It wasn't aliens.
  17. A worldwide pandemic, dubbed The Halo Virus, occurred not too long ago. Symptoms include hallucinations, derealization, fever, confusion, aggression, brain bleed, ocular trauma, and loss of free will. Among the infected were gods, goddesses, a Nordic berserker and the Arch-Maker.
  18. There is a city beneath the icy land mass of Antarctica. The only known point of entry is via a small island in 48°52.6′S 123°23.6′W.
  19. There is a black site in [REDACTED], Virginia. It's been housing the same prisoners since 1766 CE. It's been watched over by an entity and every 50 years the acting leader of Oracle meets with said entity to renew the contract.
  20. Something massive haunts the Barents and Norwegian Sea.
  21. There is a festival celebrated by berserkers all around the world. It takes place in the world's first underground colosseum built by berserkers for berserkers in Ethiopia. Many come to the festival to test their might against other berserkers.
  22. There is a grimoire that travel across time and space. There is no telling when or where it'll show up. It stays for a while and then disappears into the ether. It contains illegal, dangerous and blasphemous spells, runes, incantations and so on. No one really knows anything about it, the only things known is that it hasn't been written yet. [[[Angelus got his hands on it for a while and copied most of it and wrote some incantations into it to contribute but he ripped out six specific pages and has kept them in a secure area. The pages touched up on how to attack, disable, greatly hurt or manipulate Makers. He did it for more than obvious reasons.]]]
  23. There is a woman who learned of a secret that no one was supposed to know, upon learning of the secret her mind "broke" and she began to scream loudly and in agony though no one knows if she actually is in agony. She is currently in a sound proof room in a hospital hidden from the public. She just sits and continues to scream into the ether, she doesn't eat, drink or do anything else, she doesn't age or change at all. There is zero logical explanation as to how she's still alive. Scholars suspect that if/when she stops screaming whatever secret she learned will manifest. Given the agonizing screaming she emits it can't be any good. [[[Totally inspired by a really freaking weird dream I had.]]]

Hello!! <3333

I'm curious about Oracle (I'm writing a character for it :p)

When did it form and why?

Avatar

Oh lol I just rebloged a post sort of containing that info. Also omfg! <3

The exact year is kind of forgotten to time but it was formed during the Akkadian empire. Why? It was one of those events that wasn't actually planned.

Aleksey (Angelus's grandad and Jelani's father-in-law and mentor) who back then was known as Xisuthros-Sin-Razi and two of his dearest friends (a vampire and a human) had joined up and made a living as sell swords and they were good! Whatever the task was they were almost always successful, discrete and fast.

They were hired by many people but most notably people in higher circles and with time they were the most sought after sell swords. After the fall of the Akkadian empire they kept going until eventually only Aleksey was left. For some time he just kept to himself and just vibed. He was sort of near a village of vampires when they were being attacked by humans, this village was really small and mostly made up of artisans and merchants, he went over to help and for a long time he was the sole guardian and taught some of them to defend themselves. The itch to get back to civilization hit 'im again so he went off though a vampire joined him and in their travels they would often prevent humans from blindly killing non-humans and non-humans from blindly killing humans. With time more and more people would join him and even humans joined.

In the dumbest way possible they kind of acted as "referees" to the relationship between humans and non-humans. They all believed both parties could get along without the need to annihilate one or each other. Like I said before, 1 became 3, 3 became 6, 6 became 9, 9 became 12 and so on until it formed into the powerhouse that it is today with thousands of agents all over the world. Oracle deals with anything and everything paranormal and inter-dimensional and helping out everywhere whenever possible.

I hope that made sense.

You should talk about Berserkers more <333

Avatar

Aw, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ignore the ask. I was super fixated on finishing that thing I was working on and wanted to finish it first for two reasons. I was super fixated and that would answer part of this ask. Sorta. I'll post that later.

Also I'm sorry if I sound incoherent I took some Benadryl and everything's fuzzy right now.

So. Berserkers.

Okay so I basically love the idea of the berserker and all that but found it lacked a little...panache. At least to me anyway.

Berserkers are essentially a long lived type of humanoid warrior. While out of berserker mode they look identical to regular humans in every way. In fact, there is no way to tell if what you're looking at is a human or a berserker. However, when they shift into their berserker mode they turn into hulking, muscular humanoids that stand somewhere between 8 feet and 9.5 feet tall and weigh anywhere between 350 to 490 pounds. That's without armors and their weapons. Aside from getting really freaking big they conjure up armors and weapons, adults conjure up two weapons. The look and style of the armors and weapons differ from individual to individual but each armor and weapon depends solely on the culture of the berserker.

Let's use Loke for an example. He's Norwegian so his armor and weapons will reflect that. He's a Nordic or Norse whichever you wanna use berserker so that'll reflect on the style of his gear.

Aside from hulking out and conjuring weapons these fuckers are strong and I mean S T R O N G! They're one of the few non-humans that can and dare to go up against the divine in a head to head battle and make them sweat and work for their victory. They're not mindless in this state but they are super quick to start fighting and once a berserker picks a target there's not much that'll stand in the way of them defeating their target.

Also their armor can sustain damage and even break but the amount of force that has to be used in order to break their armor is fucking mental. Now, just because the armor breaks it doesn't mean it's permanent, if the armor breaks the berserker shifts back into their human form until it regenerates which can take a few hours depending on the severity of the damage. However, their weapons will never break or dull or rust. Speaking of, a berserker doesn't need to shift into berserker mode in order to conjure their weapons, they can do so at any time they need. Like so.

Another change I forgot to mention is that while in berserker mode their eyes tend to glow in whatever color their eyes are and that also happens when only conjuring a weapon. Yeah, Loke has green eyes but the red comes from when he was resurrected so Loke's kind of a special case. The electricity surging through the axe isn't normal either. We'll get to that.

Now, berserkers may have their roots and origins in magic but they cannot use magic, not in human form and much less in berserker mode. It's not that they aren't permitted, it's just that they cannot actually understand magic so they can't really learn it. I had to nerf them somewhere lol

Yeah, I know, the doodle is contradicting everything I'm saying but again, Loke's kind of a special case.

If a berserker should ever decide to try and learn magic it would be one hell of a gargantuan task as like I said, they don't actually understand it so they don't bother, besides, with their raw power they don't need magic. Hell, they don't need a rocket launcher either...

When they're young berserkers can conjure a range of weapons to try out and practice with them to sort of get a feeling as to which two they feel most comfortable with, then iirc by their late teens they've already made up their minds as to which two weapons they feel comfortable with and stick to those two only. Since they specialize in two weapons they become like an extension to them, they pretty much master that weapon and become devastating with them.

In the case of Loke he chose a two headed axe like his dad has and the bow and arrow like his mom has.

Like I said, these guys are long lived but they seldom get to fully enjoy that because they're a warrior species. Fighting is in their blood so most die in battle. And these fuckers are extremely tough to kill which means that they tend to die brutally and bloody.

They don't have some jacked up healing like other species have, they'll scar and aren't immune to diseases both inherited and catching.

Loke for example has asthma, hemophilia (which is crazy when you really think about it and what he is), astigmatism, can't see well up close I forgot what that one's called...you get the idea.

Now! Magic and Loke. Okay, so he's idolized his mom for as long as he can remember and always wanted to be like her. Since he was a little boy he asked his mom to teach him how to use magic and while Sanaa knew it was damn near impossible she humored. This took a very long time, we're talking 30+ years for him to get but Sanaa taught him a small trick she often used that can turn one arrow into thousands of arrows that rain on the enemy. She also taught him to conjure an element, in his case it's lightning, to wrap itself around his conjured weapon. These are things that would take a child a few months to get but since Loke's a berserker it took that long. This was kind of a pretty big deal as vommon berserkers just can't really do that but he persevered until he got it. Then it took him some 20 odd years or so to be able to consistently pull it off. Now he can do it in his sleep like it's nothing and it serves to intimidate others and impress others like his mom's side of the family. When they first saw it their minds were blown to hell and back and those people don't get surprised by anything.

So if the berserker is based on the person's culture, what about those who's parents are from two different cultures? Easy. The armor and weapons take aspects of both parents.

That pretty much cover the common berserker. Then there are arcane berserkers of which ONLY AND ONLY the Nyota people can be arcane berserkers. However, if a common berserker and an arcane berserker have a child that child will also be an arcane berserker and be considered a Nyota descendant.

More on arcane berserkers will be on another post I'll post later.

>> Nyota People:

The Nyota are a unique group of berserkers initially made up of different ethnicities, which include but are not limited to Kikuyu, Maasai, Turkana, Somali, and Bantu people. There are also people of present day Democratic Republic of Congo, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania that inhabit the Kakamega forest in Kenya. They’ve made their home in front of and inside a massive cave system unlike any found in all of Africa, though in truth only a portion of the population lives in that area as their real home is actually in what they call Star Rift (categorized by Oracle as EXO-R 6102)  which is only accessible through a stable portal that is highly guarded by the Nyota themselves. The Nyota speak the official languages of Kenya, Swahili and English.

Made some changes to some details that made a giant plot hole and so changes to the realm's name. Everything should be fine now.

I don't think I've ever spoken of this and I'm bored but don't know what to do to keep myself busy so I'm just gonna talk to myself.

Werewolf transformations!

In Oracle werewolves are cursed beings that have to hunt down humans and consume them, specifically their hearts, to keep their life essence intact. They'll consume flesh, bone, bone marrow and even blood but what they're really after is the heart, everything else is just some type of bonus.

Werewolf transformations are brutal and extremely painful. So painful that some werewolves black out during the transformation and regain consciousness as soon as it's over. They'll remain in pain for a few minutes and even while in pain they'll take off in search of prey.

The body is essentially destroying and repairing itself in the span of a few seconds, bones are breaking, skin is stretching beyond the limit and being torn off, fur is growing, fangs are forming (a far more intense form of teething) and on top of that the werewolf is bleeding. At the same time that all of that is happening bones are stretching and mending, skin is repairing itself, the heart and circulatory system is working overtime to replace the lost blood. Blood pressure is fluctuating at abnormal speeds and the werewolf's internal temperature can reach about 118 to 120 degrees due to the events and the rapid healing the body is going through in a matter of seconds which also means the body is also working on making sure the brain doesn't boil itself.

Transformations start as soon as the full moon starts rising and it lasts about 4 minutes. They turn back into their "human" form as soon as the sun starts rising and it's the same damn thing for the exact duration.

There is somewhat of a difference between a bitten werewolf and a werewolf that was born a werewolf.

Once a human has been bitten they're cursed to become a werewolf, the breed depends on the breed of the werewolf that bit the person (ie if a Howling Ghost bit a human then that human will become a Howling Ghost).

It's not a fun time though. You'll feel incredibly weak, you'll have a fever, body aches, you'll dehydrate, won't be able to keep anything you eat down and you'll mostly be bed ridden. On top of feeling all of that you'll get to experience your very first transformation while still feeling all of what comes with a transformation. You'll spend the first year in extreme agony as your body acclimates to the transformation and even after that year it'll be torment, it's just gonna be about 5% less intense.

Basically you'll feel like you wanna die if you don't pass out during the transformation.

Born werewolves's bodies are already acclimated to the transformation so they have that 5% from day one but it's just as agonizing.

All werewolves cry out in pain, some scream, some yell, most cry. It's agonizing and so much worse when you realize that not only can you see your skin stretch to the point of breaking or seeing your bones break under the skin, you'll actually hear it all.

In a more "biological" sense the werewolf's curse is actually a mutated form of rabies that only affect humans and is found in the saliva of the werewolf. There's a reason that I put the " " on the word biological, while yeah, it's actually a form of a disease it's far too steeped in the arcane to just dismiss it completely scientifically. There's a sort of ritual about it. Werewolves can only infect humans during full moons because that's when the bacteria activates and it's through a bite, a bite strong enough to break skin therefore causing the werewolf's saliva to mix with the human's blood infecting them and creating yet another werewolf.

And no, there is no cure. Once bitten there's no way to reverse it. No, it won't turn you into some sort of sex machine where everyone will be far too enamored and horny for you that they throw themselves at you. No, you won't suddenly turn hot. No, you won't lose that extra weight, your skin won't clear, your bald spot won't go away. No, you won't turn younger. Yes, life threatening diseases will go away. The body will try and repair itself though limbs lost before being bitten will not just magically grow back. You will get physically stronger and your senses will be 1,000 times better than they were before.

While a transformed werewolf is a powerhouse transforming as a way to defend themselves is downright stupid for all the reasons I mentioned above so they come equipped with ways to defend themselves in the form of physical strength, speed, boosted senses, they can grow out their teeth into their canine form, their claws too and yes, it hurts but not to the point of transforming. Come on, the teeth are basically growing and the nails are being pushed out of the fingers as the claws elongate, it's gonna hurt some. On top of that werewolves can manipulate their eyes to shine/glow which really helps to deter any would-be attacker and to add to that they very much can emit snarls and growls as well as howls that sound like a distorted version of a wolf's.

You should talk about Berserkers more <333

Been sitting on this all day and I wanna word vomit about it for a bit. Might put a read more if I think it gets too long.

I wanna move forward in Oracle. What do I mean by that? I mean, in a lot of posts you'll often read phrases like "when he (Jelani) finally gets his memory back" or "when Jericho unlocks his (again Jelani) memories" or when I phrase things that pertain to his "old self" in the future tense. I wanna get that part over with and carry it forward from now on.

EDIT: Yeah, this is long as fuck lol but there is/was a lot of information that goes into this and honestly I tend to overexplain stuff and suck at summarizing stuff. So if anyone actually bothers to read any of this, let alone the whole thing, just know that I love you and you now own my soul.

Oracle Uthorim is a bit more wild than his other counterparts. He is this ethereal godlike being who kept very much to himself. He has seen the way humanity deals with the unknown, the scary, the supernatural. He kept a small shop in a small town in Maine. Which is where he was captured in the first place. The day went on quietly as he tended to his customers, a cup of tea here, a small herbal remedy there. It was when a Stanger walked through his doors that his world flipped upside down. A man in plain winter clothing who asked one to many questions. Now Uthorim knew these government types most of them arnt as clever or covert as they'd like to think. In his mind he avoided suspicion. The front of his store becoming a fireball as he cleaned up showed how wrong he was. The element of surprise was the only way they could take Uthorim, although their losses were heavy.

I know this is a shitpost but this is legit a thing for the vampires in my setting. For example someone who's drunk af will give vampires a light drunken feeling. Someone's high? Vampires get high as well though for a lot shorter.

This goes for other creatures as well. Werewolf blood gets them in a feral state for a while. Berserker blood turns them into roided up tanks for a bit and so on.

Feeding on blood from a deity is not exactly a good idea cuz vampires will just pass out for a while. Think of it as a breaker shutting off to avoid the house from burning down. Same thing.

From a Maker? Also not a good idea. A lot of things can happen. Get a surge of power so big the vampire ends up in a coma for a while, completely shuts down till it's out of their system, lose control of themselves and there's a very slight chance they may go mad.
