i'm not certain if it applies to all fandoms, but it is a recurring pattern to those that i personally looked up

sorting by Hits gives you mostly the explicit, smut works at the top (or those multifandom oneshot collections) and;

sorting by Kudos gives you mostly the plot-driven ones

Loki is a character that I've loved when I was in highschool. Watching the first Thor movie, I liked Thor but I adored Loki. I even went through the (a bit embarrassing) stan phase where I was all King Loki uwu <3 Back then, I was always sort of dissatisfied and I wanted the movies to explore his character further. Years later, now he has his own show and I couldn't be happier. Now we get to truly see his story.
