“Aylin, what are you doing?” Isobel calls from the bed, bemused.
“Restoring your honour,” she says, reaching for the door handle. “Never fear, dear Isobel, it shall be done cleanly and quickly.”
“What?!” Isobel splutters. “Stop, Aylin please!”
Aylin’s hand lingers above the door handle, waiting.
“Aylin you are surely not talking about killing my father?!”
“Merely a duel,” Aylin says coolly. “In which one of us dies.”
“Aylin, you are immortal and cannot die, and he is still my father, whatever his faults,” Isobel exclaims. “And - Aylin – you’re not wearing any clothes!”
That is inconsequential of course, when her darling’s honour is called into question.
