Kaen and Iya somehow managed to get to Naomi’s house, now she needs to take care of both of them before it’s too late.

Naomi managed to catch Kaen’s shoulders before he could hit his head on the corner of the table, swearing under her breath, she let him lay down on his side, in recovery position, before checking his condition with her power, taking a small gaze at the wounds. 

He was just passed out with exhaustion, and had more time before the poison took effect seriously, unlike Iya. She could feel the pulses of danger from her even without touching. 

“I’m sorry Kaen” she whispered, rubbing Kaen’s cheek gently before getting to her feet, “Just as you said… Iya needs help first, I’ll make it quick alright?" 

Kaen groaned slightly, but didn’t open his eyes.

Part 1. 

Kaen managed to remove the poisoned bulled from Iya’s wound, but now, they need to get to the safety.

Just as he guessed, Kaen didn’t sleep. It was probably for best since he was still alert for any other attack. He couldn’t sleep with Iya’s struggling breathing keeping him up, and his worry for her. He didn’t know who fired those bullets at them, but Iya said they were shooting at him so he guessed it was something connected to the Hunters one way or another. 

He was sitting with Iya using his legs as a pillow, one arm wrapped around her protectively while the other one grabbed his phone, in case some miracle happened and they got a signal. 

“Time to leave…” Kaen thought, he gently put the back of his hand against Iya’s forehead to check for a fever. Iya’s fever has been rising all the two hours they’ve been here, forcing Kaen to control it with his power so it didn’t go too far. 

But she was still burning up, with her breathing shallow. Kaen could feel her rapid heartbeat from her temples while her face was covered in sweat.

This is honestly such a mess, I literally don’t have any place in the timeline so I’m just randomly posting it here!!! Enjoy XD

“KAEN!” Iya’s voice echoed in the small opening, between the abandoned buildings, almost at the brink of collapse. 

A weird whistling sound echoed in the walls, as Kaen felt himself stumbling back with Iya’s weight against him. She was walking next to him a moment ago, but now Kaen had to steady himself for both of them to not fall, wrapping his arm around Iya’s shoulders. 

“Iya, what’s suddenly…” his question was cut in half as Iya’s knees buckled under her and she just fell to the ground, gasping and pressing her hand against her side. Her hands trembled, with shock. 

Kaen immediately caught her, slowing down her fall and making her lean against him on the ground as he went to sit on his knees with her. “Iya, what’s wrong?” He asked, almost shouting with panic. “Iya?" 

Awwww Iya 🥺 ....and Kaen.... I want to hug them both

“KAEN!” Veir shouted and at the same moment Kaen felt a force pulling him to the side. Barely managing to throw him away from the force shield that was about to slam into him.

Without breaking his momentum, Veir turned and threw the attacker out of the reach.

“Thanks…” Kaen got back to his feet and quietly said. “Didn’t see that" 

"Kaen, Veir” Conrad’s voice came from the earpieces they were wearing, “You two need to go inside, Reyna and I will cover you from here" 

"Will you be alright?” Kaen sprinted towards the entrance with the command, seeing Veir do the same from the other side.

With the new developments of being able to walk again, getting stronger and more energetic, there were also a few hidden drawbacks. Milo’s joints and muscles protested the renewed movement, aching and locking up when he stood for too long.

Then came the spells.

They came with violent dizziness, disorientation and fainting that could take Milo from completely fine to on the ground without a moment’s notice, leaving him winded and confused, and in most cases scared when he came to. The rush from it was too similar to the constant feeling of weakness and vulnerability from before, a feeling Milo was reluctant to open up about even to Nick.
