Hi! I'm an indie author - I've published Kindle editions of my whump/hurt-comfort centric story, "The Case of Kindall, K.", on Kindle ~

The main characters, Kyle Kindall and Yuuki Takahashi, are queerplatonic. Kyle is canonically aromantic asexual.

The rest of the Kindall K series are also on there (I can't remember if it's specifically Kindle Unlimited, but they're definitely there on Kindle!)

An Exciting Announcement!

The whump community is one of the kindest, friendliest, and most supportive communities on the internet. Without the support I’ve gotten through this community, I don’t think I would have ever developed confidence in my writing abilities and pursued my dream of becoming a published author. It is not an exaggeration that this community has been truly life-changing for me, and I’ve finally figured out how to give back.

I  @whumpy-writings and my co-editor @thecyrulik are starting The Whumpy Printing Press to help whump writers fulfill their dreams of seeing their words in print.

Starting May 1, we will be collecting stories for Hurt and Comfort: A Whump Anthology. This book will be self-published in ebook, hardcover, and paperback. 

Theme: This anthology is a celebration of the whump community. We take a broad view of whump- it can be physical or emotional. Your stories can be hurt no comfort or comfort no hurt, just as long as they touch on whump in some way.

Submissions open: May 1, 2022

Open for submissions until: August 1, 2022

Tentative Publication Date: September 27, 2022

My writing WIP is my original novel series "Kindall K", a mystery/thriller, action & adventure story with found family and hurt comfort! You can read about it here.

(I also draw a lot of art of parts of the story / my OCS on my blog, if you're interested!)

It currently has a prequel and a trilogy. The first book is "The Case of Kindall, K." (KK1).

My current WIP is the fourth book (KK4).

The story genre is generally thriller, action & adventure - but there's a mystery element to the story in The Case of Kindall, K. (KK1), and also in KK4 ✨

Local Bookstores Have A New Weapon In The Fight With Amazon

In the book industry, Amazon is Goliath, the giant who overshadows everyone else. But there’s a new David on the scene, Bookshop.org.

It doesn’t expect to topple the giant, but it has launched a weapon that could make Amazon’s shadow a little smaller, and help local bookstores fight back.

Bookshop.org, a website that went live at the end of January and is still in beta mode, is designed to be an alternative to Amazon, and to generate income for independent bookstores. And, perhaps more importantly, it seeks to give book reviewers, bloggers and publications who rely on affiliate income from “Buy now” links to Amazon a different option.

Profit from books sold through Bookshop will be split three ways, with 10% of the sale price going into a pool that will be divided among participating bookstores, 10% going to the publication that triggered the sale by linking to Bookshop.org, and 10% going to Bookshop.org to support its operations.

with every purchase, they tell you how much you’re putting toward independent booksellers, which is fun and cute:

it’s also amazing for authors! i’ve been asked a couple times about the best way to support my books. this site is now the answer. it reports sales figures to the NYT and Bookscan, a type of tracking that helps authors hit bestseller lists. and even better, authors can set up affiliate pages, and if you buy through those pages, we get an additional 10 percent of each sale on top of royalties. this is a massive deal!!!

for reference, many royalty rates are in the 6-8 percent range. so if you buy through Bookshop author affiliate pages, authors get more than twice as much from sales of their books, with no additional cost to you.

the site is still in beta, but it also has a fun interface where you can make book lists for favorites or recommendations, sort of like goodreads (except better, because goodreads is owned by amazon).

Hey there, all, real quick announcement. Due to difficulty with Paypal-linking in the past, I have kinda let my ko-fi account fall into dust, but recent events have left me kinda short on cash as of late, so I’m trying to get it up and running again. Hopefully my ko-fi is now accepting payments.

To give you a quick rundown for why I’m in a bit of a financial bind right now: coronavirus. Basically, the city I live in got its first confirmed coronavirus case, and now the health advisory warnings have been issued to stay at home and avoid places where you’ll be interacting a lot with strangers. Which is all reasonable and good… except I work at an escape room facility, and my wages depend on how many bookings there are. So, my hours of work have dropped from ~30 hours a week to ~10 hours a week.

Additionally, I’ve had some unexpected vet bills for my dog (tracheitis, not coronavirus), which is cutting that much more into my budget.

As always, of course, no one is under any obligation to donate anything, but if you have some funds to spare, and you like what I do and would like to help me find some stress-free time to continue doing it, a ko-fi donation would really be amazing.

The situation is - I’ve been wanting to buy a new drawing tablet for almost a year, but I’d like to spend my money wisely, so I’ve been carefully researching about the best option for me. 

The drawing tablet I own currently is very small and relatively cheap - it was amazing and served its purpose for the five years I’ve owned it, but as I’m using it more and more, it’s very worn, and, due to its small size, not too great for my tendinitis and nerve injury.

That being said - I’ve decided on a tablet I’d like to buy, but it’s much more expensive than the one I currently own, so I thought I’d start making some comissions! 

As for the commissions:

The standard will be - something like the image above (sketchy lineart, flat colors, shadows and light) for 2 coffees (6€)

If you’d like something more or less complex, send me a message, and we’ll work out the price!

Also, if you’re not familiar or don’t use Ko-fi, I accept Paypal, so again, send me a message and we’ll work it out.

I may not accept certain themes or characters if I’m not comfortable drawing them, but if you’re following me, you probably have a rough idea of the stuff I draw. Anything other than that will depend, but feel free to discuss it with me!
