So many times, you tried to play it cool.

Creating and rehearsing witty zingers.

Positively elated whenever you got to use one, only to scowl seconds after when you inevitably thought of something better.

Then, you tried to keep your distance.

Talking up random guys at the bar and laughing way too loud.

But it all reached a head.

He found you outside the bar, seated atop one of the tables, head in your hand and pouting.

Not as oblivious to your feelings as you believed him to be, he smiled and offered you his hand.

“C’mon, let’s go home.”
