Some general headcanons:
She/her, 34 years old, Bisexual (I dont know a lot about different sexualities, but that seems fitting).
Loves fashion (along with Kwazii) and their styles are the most out there compared to everyone else's. They modify their uniforms the most out of the crew, and Dashi has a particularly love for a pink, tropic, and techy aesthetics.
This is how I imagine her general aesthetic and/or vibe looks (Absolutely drop dead gorgeous) :
AfroAmer + Samoan ( original idea from @animalsalvationassociation ) grew up in Australia with her mother, who was a wildlife photographer. They traveled often but always returned home eventually. --- mother is Samoan, and father was AfroAmer
Her middle name : "Masina," mean "moon" in Samoan. I think it's fitting because the moon affects the tides, and having the moon in your good graces would grant you safe passage on the sea.
Was a pilot before the Octonauts, where she continued to travel and took photos of all her destinations. Even now, she sends almost all of the pictures she takes back to her mother.
( @hers-underwraps ) said she would be into meteorology, and that sounds very fitting.
AU Lore/Headcanons :
Is the Black Ice's Navigatior (like a Skipper). She pilots the ship and is the best at it. She could dock even the biggest warship on a dabloon if she wanted.
Met the Gentleman Blue (+ crew, which was only Tweak and Kwazii at the time) after she tried to steal his ship. Barnacles was impressed by her skills and bravery and asked if she'd like to join them. She agreed.
She is closest with Shellington (the new guy) and occasionally helps him with his alchemy.
Primary weapons would be something focusing on distance. Poison darts, throwing knives, and the occasional flintlock shot. Knives and darts are quicker than guns to reload, so she sticks to that. She doesn't fight often though, as on the rare occasion an enemy managed to get on to the Black Ice, they are quickly removed or killed before they can reach the helm.
Master of seduction and trickery. She knows she's drop-dead gorgeous and will use that to her advantage. (Because she's hot like that, and a pirate. She's gotta be a least a little evil and sexy.)
Nicknamed : "The Black Ice Siren"
Extremely competitive at card games/fun stuff they do on board in their free time. She wins most of the time, and it infuriates Kwazii (who is twice as competitive)

Kwazii the Pirate in all his glory!
Hi! Sorry I haven't posted much, I'm not much of social creature myself, but I finally got motivation to draw something for the Httyd Au. Anyways sense I'm here, I've come to yap your heads off! >:)
Meet Kwazii! An energetic viking who loves dragons just as much as his fellow Octonauts! He can be stubborn, trying to take charge without help but he means well. He'd do anything for his friends and family and of course dragons! He's second in command to Cheif Barnacles, and is dang proud of it!
Here's some facts and a few relationships he has with a few of the others:
• He has a pet cat named Kwazii the 2th
• Hes really likes listening to the stories from Inkling, who is technically their retired chief.
• He likes to go out and collect shiny things in his spare time.
• He has a prosthetic arm, created by Tweak.
• He, as well as all the other Octonauts have Masks that look like their respective dragons but also in the shape of the animals they originally are in the actual show.
• As for some relationships I've come up with is that: He and the twins seen to get along, sense they believe all his crazy stories and they look up to him like a big brother. He thinks Snotlout is a bit annoying but his heart is in the right place, as long as he's not a jerk about it. He thinks Astrid is one off the coolest warriors and looks up to her like a big sister of sorts. He gets along well with Fishlegs, liking too listen to all the knowledge on dragons he has collected, and go collect shiny rocks together when needing to feed dragons (You and I both know Kwazii's hording those rocks). As for Hiccup, he thinks he's a fine leader, and finds his braver admirable.

Over the years, I've made quite literally hundreds of oc's, and randomly remembered one of my more recent ones from before Octonauts devoured my mind.
[17 years old, he/him/they/them]
SO, meet Corey Chicxulub!! He is a sci-fi character whose shtick is that he is of a human based people group (called the Tezcalli) born and bred to live on low oxygen, low atmosphere asteroids. His species/people are considered lowly and beneath them by the elite, other humanoids of the planet system that their asteroid belt surrounds, and the elites conquered his people a couple hundred years ago and now force them to mine the minerals and resources in their asteroids.
A Sanguine is a vampire-like parasitic alien species (they look like large humans with eels and leeches for heads) of unknown origin and is considered a plague on the Planet System (haven't thought of the name yet). They can morph their bodies very similar to the Venom symbiote, hence the goopy blood arm.
Corey's mother was a Sanguine, and his father was a Texcalli. His father is also the Tlatoani (ruler) of the Texcalli people, and while they all still listen and respect him, the elites have stripped his family of its former glorious temples and status other than his title.
His people and their culture are based on Mesoamerican cultures (mostly Aztec, from the names of things) □□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□

At 36, Calico Jack was the captain of the REVENGE (formerly Charles Vanes's ship, which he mutinied and took over).
At 37, he was captured by the Royal British Navy and thrown in "pirate prison" (idk what it was called irl). On his first day, he was whipped/beaten by the guards, something they did to every pirate on their first day.
[I imagine this part like a scene in a movie] As he lays there in the dirt, he's nearly unconscious, but feels someone grab him. They drag him over to their cell and get someone to help her clean his new wounds. It hurts, hence the drawing, and it depicts that scene.
[She is one of the big bosses of the pirate prisoners, so holds authority with them]
The person who helped him was Anne Bonny, whom he fell in love with. They are together in the prison for a few months before escaping and spending the rest of that year pirating on the high seas.
At 38, he's again caught and this time sentenced to death instead of imprisonment. Anne Bonny is able to convince the court to pardon her because she was pregnant (Calico Jack's son/Kwazii's father). Anne Bonny leaves him for Mary Read, who was also pardoned. (Irl, there was no evidence of them being in a relationship ship, but in Octo-universe, they are now. Lesbian cats.)
He's able to escape his hanging and flees, where he hides for two more years (until 40 years old, and authorities wound his left eye), then a storm shipwrecks him and he ends up in the Amazon for another 15 years.

How do they act/interact normally in your au?
Of course they're alive! I'd never get rid of the babies!! ( Thx for the ask :] )
I see them as funky little sirens (cuz sea monsters are cool) but look and act less like normal sirens because they were raised by shifters/people (Shellington + crew). So, they picked up on the mannerisms of people and don't feel the need to eat anyone because they can eat, like, fish and stuff :]
The siren thing came from them :
1. Being sea creatures already
2. They sing
I kinda forget about them tho, so that's why I don't post them a lot 😅 whoops
What's a scene/scenario that lives rent free inside your head whenever you think of your AU? Or just the Octonauts in general. Is there something that excites you? Or something fun that you'd like to share with the class? A hyperfixation of sorts?

Them getting into precarious situations... and Barnacles saving the day, it makes me so genuinely giddy :]
Octonauts overall (been consuming my brain for literal months, like half of the year probably), but a specific character changes every couple of days, OR each time I see something that reminds me of them and gives me ideas lol

• Hispanic -- American dub
• Lived in the Antarctic with his entire family -- big ass family ( idea came from @animalsalvationassociation ) before joining the Octonauts
• Met Barnacles after helping him when he was on a solo mission in Antarctica. I had an idea where Barnacles comes back to the Octopod, someone's says to him, "Oh hey captain, where have- who is that?? " and Peso is just there like, "hi. I saved his life."
