Yknow what, I remember everyone hating on Capone (2020) when it came out and I got some flack for defending it but I still think about it to this day. LIKE AM I THE ONLY PERSON WHO WATCHED IT AND ENJOYED IT. I think part of the problem at the time was that people wanted another big bad gangster film from Tom hardy and were caught off guard by the actual film. It’s a downward spiral. The “he had it all but now it’s being stripped from him” didn’t land well for a lot of people. But I’d argue that the film isn’t really a gangster film and leans itself towards a thriller (maybe even a horror). BECAUSE HOW SCARY IS IT TO WATCH SOMEONE PEOPLE FEARED BECOME TERRIFIED OF HIS OWN MIND. LIKE THINK ABOUT THE SCARIEST MOST TOUGH PERSON YOU KNOW AND HOW TERRIFYING IT IS THAT THE ONE BIG THING TAKING HIM OUT WAS HIS OWN FUCKING MIND.
