Felt like giving my human versions of Lapis and Peridot (Bobbie and Dottie) their own nightmare treatment
Human Gems
Since Steven Universe has ended I thought I’d finally get around to drawing more of the human gems I’d imagined besides just the Lapidot ones. From left to right they are Bobbie, Dottie, Amelie, Parla, Dia, and Kara. Probably need to tweak Kara a little but for now I’m good with them. Bobbie, Dottie, and Kara go to Reverie High while Amelie, Parla, and Dia go to Reverie Prep.

Trying to decide how to incorporate the new Lapidot looks into my seldom used human versions, I decided pajamas. Which only really works for Bobbie, but at least Dottie has her new glasses. Enjoy your slumber party girls.

Haven’t drawn my human Lapis and Peridot in a while, or Roberta “Bobbie” Blue and Dottie Zerno as I call them, but Reunion gave me a canonical dress to work off for the latter and now here we are.
The Blue family in public and private.
Elmas Blue is the founder and CEO of Blutrition, Reverie’s premier sports drink and health food empire. Her elder daughter, Roberta “Bobbi” Blue, is the star of Reverie High’s baseball team, while her younger daughter, Marin Blue, is top of her class in Reverie Prep’s middle school division. In public they seem like the perfect family, gifted in several ways, color-coordinated, and as healthy as their brand of food claims to be, but things are a little different behind closed doors.
Bobbi, much to her mother’s chagrin, has no interest in numbers or business of any kind. Elmas blames herself for not researching enough into the initial sperm donor she chose, a mistake she wouldn't repeat when she decided to try again.
Marin is basically a sociopath, able to make most adults think she’s an angel while simultaneously finding ways to put people under her thumb or at least use them to get something she wants. Mostly this means taking advantage of her classmates and sister, something Elmas is mildly aware of but lets slide since Marin is actively following the life plan towards inheriting the company that had originally been designed for Roberta.
Elmas built Blutrition from the ground up and ensuring it remained within the scope of her vision was the entire reason she decided to have a child in the first place, so that she would have a heir that would keep the “Blue” in Blutrition. She does love her daughters, but simply has more interest in making sure one of them can take over the company one day than what sports or activities they feel like pursuing.
Those of you who have seen my previous pieces with Bobbi may notice some tweaks have been made to her design. This is because of her mother more than anything, I just had ideas I thought would work best with her and that necessitated a change in design for her daughters. It’s not like I've used her for anything beside that beach comic so I’m not really worried about it.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the rambling.
Got a new drawing tablet and after seeing the SU volleyball flash game I thought I’d practice a bit with my human versions of Lapidot in a similar situation, just without all the volleyball. Plus a reaction shot from my attempt at @dement09 ‘s human AU, which is one of the reasons I’m even on tumblr.
My take on Lapis and Peridot are Roberta and Dottie respectively, or Robertie as it were, and eventually they’ll start popping up in the background of my web comic, www.ReignsReverie.com
