Trying to think of any reason AT ALL for Morro to come back like it’s not that I don’t want him to return but I am also SO confused.
The only way I can imagine it is if we’re FINALLY getting the cursed (and departed) realm post-merge exploration that Doc Wyatt once hinted at. They could be looking for Wu there, maybe? Considering that Cole also asked Wu whether he was departed and there wasn’t really an answer?
If they *are* going into the cursed realm that would honestly make more sense to me than Morro getting out or being released somehow, since I don’t really see a reason for it except if you I guess want to find a ghost that would be against the ninja? Even though he probably wouldn’t really be anymore? It’d make sense to me if he were to meet the ninja there instead, then.
Because the thing is I feel like the departed realm would still be in tact in terms of keeping the cursed souls in there. Otherwise we would have probably seen ghosts running all over the place and plaguing the merged lands. It has become the Cursed Land, probably, and just consists of a section where all the cursed souls are bound to and cannot leave.
Not sure what would have happened to the departed realm, since we have never seen it and it is unclear whether there was actually a physical space that was occupied within the universe— I suppose there would have been, but I’m not sure if the rules of the merge apply to it, too, considering I feel like it should be on an entirely new plane of existence, even. I’m also unsure what it would look like when merged, but that’s kinda besides the point right now.
The main point is that due to the set that we saw— which, the previews are not really that reliable in terms of what minifigs are in which referenced scene, I think we can assume that it won’t just be the ninja going to the departed realm, but that there’s maybe also something that the villain figures of the season may want from there.
Unlike the framing of the set, however, Morro would be unlikely to be on their side (or at least, I am hoping so)
