iu mentioned jonghyun in an interview that she held with jtbc news program, newsroom, late last night (january 17th). when discussing the speech that she made in acceptance of her daesang at the 32nd golden disc awards she was asked about how she mentioned jonghyun in it. iu: he was a colleague of mine who debuted in the same year as me and, as a colleague with the same dreams, similar worries and anxieties, as well as a similar development (as celebrities), i regret not being able to give him greater strength. not just me, but many other singers also had heavy emotions. that night at the award ceremony there were many year end performances and, compared to those watching the performances, those standing on stage who were the stars of the show had to receive congratulations from everyone, but put on their performances with heavy emotions. seeing that made me feel really worried for them. even for those who weren’t close to me i thought to myself that i sincerely wish that nobody falls ill. i hoped that their sincerity in putting on the performances, despite their heavy emotions, would be conveyed well to the audience. that we would give greater respect to their sincerity.
