“I guess…I’m just scared of ending up like my dad, someone who doesn’t really care about anyone else. And I feel like if I don’t reblog all those posts about important issues, it’ll make me a bad person”
“I don’t think that makes you a bad person. But um having me locked inside your basement kind of does.”
“…ok well that’s different, it’s self care.”
Chris Samnee for Batober day 30 “Relief”

Terrible Tudor
Whumpee who's been on the run from some sort of organization/the government/whatever for a long time, finally getting captured.
Waking up in a facility in the middle of nowhere. Knowing that no one is coming to rescue them.
Whumper leaning over to whisper, "It's all going to be alright, we're going to take care of you now," before tenderly stroking whumpee's hair.
Maybe brainwashing is involved? Will whumpee ever be rescued/ever escape? What are whumper's plans?
non-human character: *moves their ears/wings/tail to indicate their emotional state and for emphasis when communicating*
me:
You know what I love? When a whumpee is hurt/sick/in trouble and ends up getting rescued... by an enemy. There's so many possible outcomes! It's a great trope.
- The moment of relief at being rescued being replaced by fear as whumpee realizes that they've instead been found by an enemy.
- Does their enemy hurt whumpee even worse?
- Does their enemy surprise them by being gentle and kind (perfect if you want to write enemies to friends, enemies to lovers, enemies to friends to lovers, etc)
- Has whumpee been mistaken (or deliberately misled!) about who the enemy is all along?
- Whumpee waking up in an enemy hospital, or an enemy prison... the fear upon waking up and realizing that they're not safe at all, that their fate entirely rests in the hands of their enemies...
- Carewhumper situation where whumpee's enemies keep them alive for some (possibly nefarious) purpose. Whumpee isn't tortured and they're fed and their injury/illness is treated, but there's a looming dread of what might become of them now. Carewhumper makes sure that whumpee is alright, but must have some sinister purpose in mind...
im only a level three imagination haver sorry i wouldnt get it
as a level five imagination haver i can only imagine how hard that is for you
rub it in why don't you
When Whumpee got out, they thought everything would be okay again. Whumper was in prison, Caretaker was around, and Whumpee was safe.
That was until they woke up with the news right outside their house, pointing cameras at them. Caretaker closed the windows and took Whumpee back to their bedroom.
“What’s going on?” Whumpee asked, so desperately confused and a more than a little scared.
Caretaker hesitated “Whumpee… the videos…”
The blood drained from Whumpee’s face. The videos. Someone had released Whumper’s videos of Whumpee’s torture. And now the public knew what Whumpee did to stop the agony.
Smol Whumpee who loves loves loves Tol Caretaker's big breathless pressure stim hugs that squeeze the stuffing out of them and fill it all with warmth and love. Smol Whumpee who's now been found so beaten and broken that Tol Caretaker has to handle them like glass, no matter how desperately they want to hold them tight and never let go again. It won't really feel like a reunion until they're healed enough to do so, if they can heal
digitized and cleaned up a sketchbook piece from last night :)
can I share a trope I really like. defiant whumpee x caretaker who's used to it whumpee being upset and embarrassed over being weak and fragile and needing care so they keep trying to push caretaker away. they hide in blankets, in corners, in closets - they hate being seen in such a state. despite this, they still secretly wish caretaker would reassure them and tend to them and nurse them because they feel valued for the first time and just don't know how to react to it caretaker who's dealt with them before and is overall unfazed. they poke fun at whumpee sometimes too, just because it stuns them into not complaining. being gentle with whumpee who's hissing and kicking and complaining and holding them down to spoon-feed them soup until they're too weak to resist also bonus points when whumpee hates being seen as helpless or being babied paired with caretaker who's mostly used to tending to children and uses those habits to also tend to them
You had me at the first sentence, dear anon. "Defiant whumpee with a caretaker who's used to it."
I just picture a whumpee throwing a ragefit over needing help, medical attention, rules that keep them safe, ect.
Meanwhile our unbothered caretaker knows in about three minutes, whumpee will be exhausted from their fit and will accidently sit still huffing and puffing long enough to change that bandage...
Anyway, thanks for sharing!
