Currently obsessed with american pop punk band The Wonder Years. This blog is mostly just a collection of things that I'm interested in at the moment, whether it's music or a new fandom or just queer memes in general. I'll probably appear once in a while to reblog a bunch of posts about a new obsession that you didn't follow me for and then vanish off into the unknown again. Current interests include: the wonder years, spanish love songs, hot mulligan, against me, doctor who, etc.

Dhawan!Master in S12 was trying to bring 13 back down to His level so they could be equal again, and 13 ruined it for him by accidentally scoring a KO hit verbally and also because she refused to kill them both.

So he goes away and licks his wounds while she’s in jail and Flux is happening, and he concocts a master plan B.

If the plot to bring 13 down to his level didn’t work, he’s gonna claw his way up there to her level if it kills them Both.

I actually have to congratulate him for managing to deteriorate in terms of mental health since the last time we saw him. It’s terrible but. Impressive in its own way.

Also, Very Doctor Frankenstein of you buddy.

Thinking about how the youngest person we’ve seen Thirteen interact with was an abandoned, vulnerable girl left to fend for herself at the portal to another universe, and how the Doctor actually tried to figure out what happened instead of just whisking Hanne away in the TARDIS and displacing her somewhere. Thinking about how, despite all of the external manipulation and abuse the Doctor has experienced, she is still intrinsically a construction of her own making.

nadjia asking if yaz and the doctor are seeing each other -> “i want more. more of the universe, more time with you” -> “can’t have a universe with no yaz!” -> “my person’s a bit different” -> “we’re not letting you go!” -> “i just missed her, that’s all” -> “i missed you” -> “i want to tell you everything”

-> I HAVEN’T EVEN TOLD MYSELF

Now that we are getting close to the end of Jodie Whittaker’s last Doctor Who series (there are still 3 specials though), I am starting to get really sad about her leaving. Jodie Whittaker is the reason I started watching Doctor Who (New Who) and the reason I’m in this fandom.

I know her run as the Doctor hasn’t always been the strongest. And I know a lot of people are more excited for Russell T Davies to return as showrunner than they are for what is currently airing, but I just hope people appreciate this era and the Thirteenth Doctor.

Jodie Whittaker has really given an incredible performance. She has excelled at both comedy and drama. She has done a great job honoring all the Doctors before her. She has done nothing but smile and appreciate all Doctor Who fans, despite all the criticism that has been directed at her.

For everyone that has stopped watching Doctor Who in recent years and for everyone that is excited for the future of Doctor Who (I know I am!!), hopefully you can give Jodie’s Doctor a chance… Yes, series 11 is a little rough but it does have good moments.

Both series 12 and 13 have been amazing. They have brought back great characters and used classic villains in exciting, new ways. And credit must be given to both Chris Chibnall and Jodie Whittaker for expanding the Doctor Who universe so well. When Russell T Davies comes back, he will have a whole new world with which to work.

Jodie deserves a lot of praise for her work as the Thirteenth Doctor. And hopefully more people give her Doctor a chance as we move into the next phase of Doctor Who!!

my favourite subset of dw fans  (the dw equivalent of the trek fans calling themselves trekkers instead of trekkies) are the ones who try and bullshit that tecteun is actually a nice person actually how do You know she killed the kid over and over it might have just been bad luck (hate to break it, but if ur kid dies multiple times in accidents, you’re still a terrible parent) to justify their angle of the timeless child story being a chosen one narrative and not just a tragedy.

if ur justification involves absolving the character who medically experiments on and tortures and Kills their own kid multiple times Maybe you Might just be on the bullshit.

Yaz: *uses her police knowledge to find and comfort a missing girl, acts like the Doctor in both taking charge and getting frustrated with questions, anger at Thirteen but also worried and still hopeful*

Reviewers like Den Of Geek: isn’t it a shame that there’s nothing to Yaz?

I really really am frustrated with this: “Yaz does nothing” take to her character when she’s been shining all season.

Or the take that “Yaz becoming the Doctor is out of nowhere” when Yaz in s12 was All About throwing herself into danger.

Or my favorite “they don’t do anything about Yaz being a cop” when she does things rookie police do: handling community disputes, talking to people, etc.

When evil baddie Swarm told 13 that she and him "danced across time and space" i was lowkey expecting the Master to show up and, in a jealous rage, sock Swarm in the face.

"She's my nemesis! And only I'm allowed to dance with her across time and space!"

Just putting tags out to see because they're so on point

Not to project all my whatevers onto this sexy alien with nimble fingers, but after all the setup Chibnall has done to implicitly & explicitly craft the Dr as an outsider exploited as a tool by an imperialist force, & allying her with humans & others in much the same boat over the course of series 11 & 12, it is extremely gratifying to see a series 13 plot that seems to involve a bunch of all-powerful beings telling the Dr they don't know enough, aren't strong enough, can't fight hard enough, are the root of the problem & won't win, & the Dr through all this trauma simply replying: "Disagree."

So Bel is going after Azure McCrystalSkull and clearly even prior to the Flux had a certain amount of just bopping around doing her thing. We can tell from her jacket style (even with that TARDIS blue) that she’s probably Division, and we can tell from Vinder’s past and his punishment that he’s probably Division too. Like Karvanista there’s nothing to suggest they’re in any way bad people but still, they almost certainly both are Division, and that’s what the Academy may well be turning out (or at least their best pupils).

Non-zero, quite high chance they’re the Timeless Child’s parents.

We’ve been talking about how whether the Time Lordy stuff going on with them and their planet is because they’re part of Gallifrey‘s Empire. That the Division, we know, is ruled by Time Lords.

But what if the Division isn’t from Time Lords at all?

What if we’re getting it the wrong way round.

The Division is what made the Time Lords.

They’re the ones responsible for the predestination paradox of the Time Lords with the Timeless Child. They’re the ones secretly in control. They’re not off-brand CIA, they’re effectively above and beyond them. That’s why they’re using so many different species, the Division is not really rooted in Gallifrey Over All supremacy, because these are the people behind Gallifrey, probably behind loads of important and useful empires. That’s why they already seemed to be around when the Timeless Child was still quite young. It’s why they’re still here after Gallifrey was burned and salted. Because not all their high ups are Time Lords, maybe most but not all. That’s just where one of their major seats of power is.

Ohhhhhhhhhshit

oh is that rogue angel in 13x4 angela??

In the Judoon prison?

That’s some big brain thinking right there. I was about to say you think the Division would use a P’Ting, but I think it’s clear they use everything, damn. And if it is a Division Prison it would explain why it would’ve taken Jack so long to work out how to get imprisoned there

do you think the time agency was the division by another name?

JACK: Woke up one day when I was still working for them, found they’d stolen two years of my memories. I’d like them back. ROSE: They stole your memories? JACK: Two years of my life. No idea what I did. Your friend over there doesn’t trust me, and for all I know he’s right not to.

did jack, like, turn himself in? i doubt it. but the time agency does sound a lot like the division

The Time Agency was a time-active organisation which operated from the 49th, 51st, and 52nd centuries. The Agency employed human Time Agents, (PROSE: Trading Futures, TV: Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, AUDIO: The Time Machine, et al.) often equipped with vortex manipulators. (TV: The Empty Child)
One account stated that, “The Agents’ purpose is to change without interfering, to leave an effect with no evidence of cause.
SOLPADO: The policy of the Time Lords is clear. strict non-intervention in other worlds and times. However, policy and reality sometimes diverge. There are times when it is necessary to intervene. That is the purpose of The Division. The tests we set you. These results are the best I’ve ever seen. SOLPADO: The Division does not exist. The Division does not have operatives. We are not even here. Do you understand? I propose…
To be untraceable, undetectable, invisible. To all intents and purposes, the Agents do not exist.” (PROSE: Sometime Never…)

the angel in 13x4: Division uses everything and everyone. Every species, every world, every moment. They are everywhere, present and unseen. Division is unstoppable.

The Time Agency originated in a version of reality lacking Time Lord supervision due to the outcome of a time war.
Another account indicated the Agency existed to fill the power vacuum left by the Gallifrey’s absence after the Last Great Time War, asserting itself as protector of the Web of Time after the position was fought over by other factions such as the Sontarans, Cybermen, and Unon.

we have a timelord vacuum again. you might be right that division isnt of the timelords but is from somewhere even higher up. timelords just rule this universe, division are maybe the timelords of the…. multiverse idk. the domain of eternals and gods and things that can move between dimensions.

“We’re really conscious of the fact that, because of COVID, we’re not making a ten-episode series,”adds Chris. “So I want each of the six episodes of Flux to feel like a double espresso shot of Doctor Who. Formatting this season as a serial has really helped to create that intensity.” With the Doctor confronted by many of her most dangerous enemies, the series draws to a shattering conclusion. It’s all part of the bold strategy that began with the casting of the first female Doctor. “We always knew where we were going with the end of Jodie’s second season, and that’s why Fugitive of the Judoon was slap-bang in the middle of her era,” says Chris. “Having set up that situation, Jodie’s third season was always going to be about playing in that sandbox.” Chris is staying tight-lipped about the momentous events that unfold in Chapter Six, but hints that he’s taken a typically fearless approach to the season finale. “This show has so much untapped potential,” he says. “There are so many things you can do with it. You have to take risks…”

I’ve been hearing people talk about 13 losing her mask in the scene where she’s pulled out of the memory and then regaining it when she says “does everything have to be a discussion” to Yaz later, and while that’s true in a sense, that mask she puts up isn’t her true mask. She lost her first mask a long time ago.

Originally, her mask was sunny and happy-go-lucky. She mostly lost it after the events of Spyfall, and it continued to drop away more and more during season 12. But the persona it revealed, cold and distant, the side she’s showed her enemies but not friends since since season 11, was another mask. We’re finally getting to see more of 13′s true self underneath, which is vulnerable and panicked and angry. So yes she is able to put back on her mask after breaking down in Once, Upon a Time, but she can’t repress enough to put back up her primary defense.

13 is the epitome of “they knocked the mask off my face, but luckily I was wearing a second, smaller mask underneath.” Now she’s losing that one too.

Oh fuck
