no offense but make a wish when your childhood dies hear the knock knock knock when she cries we’re all alone tonight hold your breath when a blackbird flies count to seventeen and close your eyes i’ll keep you safe inside he burns my skin never mind about the shape i’m in i’ll keep you safe tonight if you even care
“make a wish when your childhood dies” is such a heavy lyric. like holy fuck dude so many people think danger days is mcr’s worst album because it’s not as gritty or grungey as the others just because the music is lighter in tone but this whole ass album is about finding out the world is going to shit both as you get older and in general and how you need to grow up real fuckin quick and just have faith in yourself to survive. u tellin me thats not hardcore as fuck?
also trans rights but people much smarter than me have made much better posts on that
In my head, I keep thinking of Parade as Millenial nihilsm and Danger Days as Gen Z nihilism. Because Danger Days, is deep and dark, and anti-capitalism, but the lyrics are hidden behind a tune you can dance to. And I think that’s what I love about that record.
The latter two albums are my favourite because of this perceived opposition. Black Parade is overt about death and self-hatred but Danger Days is covert. It draws you in with those catchy tunes and only when you listen to the lyrics do you realise how deep/hardcore/punk/(whatever anti-establishment adjective you want) the record really is.
This!!!
