Ahhhhhh I love this

By far the hottest part of the hottest scene in 5x06 was this:

Tom Ellis did a MARVELOUS job with it. It’s so simple, but the direct eye contact here, coupled with offering his hand is just so tender, so sweet. Though Chloe spends some time this season afraid of why Lucifer might not have said those three words back to her, Lucifer’s eyes right here are unabashedly filled with love. Of course he loves her–probably more than he loves himself, if we’re being honest. 

He looks… small, like he worships this woman, can’t believe he’s this lucky. My dudes, Lucifer ADORES Chloe, he doesn’t just want to sleep with her. But that carries over into sex for both of them, and it’s what makes this scene come alive. That direct eye contact is soul-revealing, and damn, it says way more than any words possibly could.

Season five is possibly the best season of television I have EVER watched—a reminder of the kind of meticulous storytelling that made me want to write. It’s obvious that SO much love went into crafting these episodes, and I can’t help but be in absolute awe of everything I’ve seen these past eight hours. I don’t think I’ve ever given something a perfect 10/10, but Lucifer 5A earned it. I’m still just so FLOORED.

s5a of lucifer blew me away. i don’t think i’ve ever seen a show handle an ensemble cast this well like the emotional depth of all of them? stunning. the noir episode i’d been excited about but i could never have conceived of how well they pulled it off. the whole season was so good it made me like Dan fucking Espinoza. props to the whole crew because Gods what a show.

I love that as much as she is super skeptical, as soon as he says those things she’s like “oh shit, that really is the pretentious idiot i feel for isn’t it?”

Because I have to get this out, and I need to cool off before I write any rants.

Loved:

- Chloe figuring out Michael quite fast

- Deckerstar finally doing THE DEVIL’S TANGO™

- ReFeReNcEs/tHrOwBaCkS (hell freezing over, wrong conclusions from Linda’s advice, shooting Lucifer in the leg, etc.)

- Was worried for s5/Deckerstar quality after get together - they’re still them, but they’re learning and saving each other while being their funny and wacky selves. Can I love them even more?

- Dad! Amenadiel

- New Age Dan + Douchifer friendship - I hope Dan recovers soon, I know deep down he and Lucifer enjoy each other’s company

- Captain of the Deckerstar ship, Ella

Worries:

- Can Lucifer finally notice Maze? She’s been on an emotional roller coaster for some time now, please appreciate her and fix your friendship! ASAP!

- Ella. My poor child. PLEASE DO NOT SPIRAL OUT OF CONTROL. Also, maybe do not throw the truth/angelic stuff at her while she’s recovering?

- Lucifer’s “I love you”. Dude, you went to hell for Chloe. Twice. You got this.

- Do not go back on Deckerstar/break them again. Pls. *slides 20 bucks*

- Dad Mug. Just… Hold your horses? Lucifer and Chloe need to work out and settle in their relationship.

- Like… if we’re talking Charlie’s mortality…. what about Chloe’s mortality? OH SHIT WHAT IF MICHAEL GOES TO HELL AND LUCI TO HEAVEN AND HE WILL NEED TO “WAIT FOR HER”.

Bullocks, I’ll see myself out and rewatch the tango 100000x times.

I almost wish Lucifer had stayed in Hell for a couple more episodes, just so we could see him continue to send Chloe messages via demons possessing the murder victims of her cases; particularly when he inevitably starts getting mournful and sending spiels about how much he misses her. 

Much to the mortification of both Chloe and the demons who have to relay his declarations of love and agony.

‘Lucifer. Stoppit. There isn’t going to be any long distance flirting via cadaver and demon messenger. There just isn’t. This is a crime scene. This is all kinds of inappropriate.’

Chloe: *has given into the madness by this point and has cleared everyone out of the crime scene for a few minutes so she can ‘assess’*

Corpse: *sits up*

Corpse/demon:  Methought I saw my late espoused saint       Brought to me, like Alcestis, from the grave,       Whom Jove’s great son to her glad husband gave,       Rescu’d from death by force, though pale and faint. not to be corny and embarrassing but i remember how during s2 i watched lucifer every monday and would beg people to give it a shot cause we were a relatively small fandom. then when we got cancelled to see how much love there is for this show was shocking and spending a whole month tweeting to get it saved by any network was so hard but i knew we could do it cause i believed in it even after it's worst during s3. now we're one of the most popular shows on the largest streaming network! i feel so lucky with all my friends that i tweeted with in 2018 and the ones i met after we saved the show. like this is what all of that hard work was for and it's finally here 😭🙏🏼

* Lucifer season 5 spoilers *

It was a good move from the writers to make Dan break down in front of Charlotte's grave. After finding out that heaven and hell are real, he probably understood why she was trying so hard to be a better person. At that moment, he's desperate and he's craving for a sign because he wants to be good too.

Dan has a dirty past and he's done many mistakes but I've always admired how he ends up realizing that he was wrong. However, I've also noticed that he can't let go whether it's a tiny little mistake or grieving someone he lost like Charlotte. Part 2 might be him learning to forgive himself. I hope so at least, I can't imagine how it can get worse than the state he's in. Some people think Dan might die, and even if I don't want it to happen, it's a high possibility. I don't see the writers making Dan go to Hell, they'll probably give him a " happy " ending similar to Charlotte's, maybe even them reuniting? They deserve to be together.

maze wants to find a connection and someone to love and ella is drawn to “bad guys” but want someone who appreciates her and is good deep inside. so why not just two-birds-one-stone-this thing and get the maze/ella pairing we deserve?

Lucifer s5 spoilers

Okay, does anyone else think that the reason why Lucifer was physically vulnerable around Chloe in the first place was to show he was willing to be vulnerable around her but didn’t really know how to so his subconscious decided to forgo his invulnerability? But now that he’s choosing to be emotionally vulnerable around Chloe, he doesn’t need to be physically vulnerable anymore bc he’s now actively choosing to be vulnerable around her in another way? Does that make any sense?

Ok, so they REALLLLY stepped up their game for this season. I lost count of the number of times I burst out laughing, but the TENSION of the chase when they were searching for Chloe shows the balance they were able to make between the funny and the serious. Dan's breakdown was done so well in that regard, with desperation he showed begging on his knees, transitioning to the Michael entrance that I personally found hilarious, with the foreboding of the manipulation.

I was somewhat expecting the twist of Pete actually being the killer fairly early on, but was really hoping that wouldn't happen because ELLA HAS BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH!! How about some good old fashioned peace and not constant struggle? Just let her be happy. Although, was Pete already a Star Trek fan, or did he learn Klingon specifically for Ella? Also, the whole "Just to be clear, this is you breaking up with me, right?" was pretty funny despite the general atmosphere at that point in time.

The nuns with Amenadiel was hilarious, as was the devil face being the only thing to calm down Charlie, and Chloe thinking Amenadiel was her father, and the demons ("Take the rest of the day off", "Hey, is that Mazikeen?", "Should we get back to work?"), Lucifer and his jealousy (I went to hell and back for you twice, but whose counting?), Linda and Ella being hard-core Deckerstar fans, I mean the list goes on, but for the sake of time I think I've made my point.

Also back to Dan, I really enjoyed his dynamic with Lucifer this season, with them actually working together and having a good relationship (bracelet bros for life!).

And yes, of course Chloe and Lucifer together was great, despite all the wrenches thrown their way, Michael shaped or otherwise. Was it the time freeze confusing him, or could he really not say it? Please no more trouble.

And the time freeze, yikes Amenadiel, way to be an overachiever. Though that broken glass scene was epic.

And speaking of epic, THANKS FOR THE CLIFFHANGER! They really went out on a high note, didn't they. Can't wait for the second half.
