oh wow, just started series 7 and watched "merrily, merrily" 🤧

i think the sort of bittersweet, more poignant ones like this, "12 days of christine" and "bernie clifton's dressing room" are definitely always my favs 🥹

incrediblyyy good, probably up there among the most disturbing episodes along w/ "the devil of christmas" and "to have and to hold"

..altho both of those were a lot more harrowing, whereas this was a lot funnier in a way, like u could tell the kids were having a blast w/ it at the end 😆

been a run of a few episodes ranging from "really didn't enjoy" to "decent enough, but nothing spectacular" since abt the middle of series 5, but Oof, "lip service" was a properly fucking good one 😳

aww “love’s great adventure” was a rly gr8 inside no. 9 ep!! i was sooo scared something Awful was going to happen throughout the 2nd half of it, but i actually really appreciated how subtle the “twist” was in it 🥹

..ofc, after a nice episode like that, i wasn’t surprised to see the next episode (“misdirection”) has a warning abt containing “upsetting scenes” so um. on to that one i guess 🫣

very quick ranking i just slapped together of the first 3 series of inside no. 9 👍 some of these might move around a bit if i thought abt it more, but this was my gut feeling 😁

only started series 4 tonight, but i think "bernie clifton's dressing room" would probably be after "the riddle of the sphinx" in S tier, and "zanzibar" maybe after "diddle diddle dumpling" in A?? 🤔

discovering inside no. 9 is fun to watch cos one episode will be like a silly little ~strangers on a train~ story w/ a dark but funny twist, and then the next will be like, the most poignantly beautiful thing you've ever seen 🥲
