in canon firestar is basically just like, a normal warriors dad ig - not overly involved but is accepted as being a good father to his daughters, but i do wish the erin’s had actually done more to develop his relationship w squirrelflight and leafpool, especially post-tnp. i especially think it’d be interesting if him and leafpool - who everyone acknowledges that they’re very similar in personality and probably get along well - had tension between them during omen of the stars bc firestar can’t help but wonder why leafpool never told him abt her kids and why she didn’t feel like she could confide in him, and for leafpool to feel frustrated because how COULD she have told him? he’s her father but he’s also firestar and she didn’t want to disappoint him, but she’s also angry that she had all the expectations of being his daughter while knowing that he was always so busy and didn’t even realize she’d fallen in love with crowfeather or that she was pregnant….sometimes she feels like he was so wrapped up in being leader he never saw Her

i’ll talk more abt him and squirrelflight probably in another post cus i’m very leafpool brain rn but i think abt how she went through an entire life experience of falling in love and getting pregnant AND having to give up her children and firestar wasn’t even slightly aware of any of it…..the books hint that sandstorm (along w daisy and ferncloud) did have an inkling that she was hiding smthn and i’m not implying like, Absent Father firestar but more like……firestar is, well, firestar. he’s leader of thunderclan and everything he does is criticized by not only cats in his clan but in the others, and he has to protect and watch over All of thunderclan…..but leafpool especially can’t help but feel a little sour about it, even though she has a better understanding of duty and sacrifices than any other cat in thunderclan, even squirrelflight.

like she KNOWS he has to watch all of thunderclan and be their leader, she gets that more than ANYONE, but after giving up her kits and being the sole medicine cat, she really just wishes he could’ve just been her dad and nothing else

Fire fam digital version.

Fire and Ice: Rise of Change edition (aka. my redraw of the Fire and Ice cover) is complete! 

This took me FOR EVER, the complete opposite of the Into the Wild cover, that one I completed in 1 night, this one has been a WIP for possibly a month??? Could be more and I wouldn’t be surprised. 

This is probably one of the most complicated covers in the first arc, there are so many characters and such a big background! I am not used to illustrating backgrounds like this so at least it was a good push to get me out of my comfort zone! 

Now info about my changes to the cover! The cats in the frame are Bracken(paw) and Cinder(paw), they are both important characters in this book and they are Fire and Gray’s first apprentices (Bracken is more Fire’s apprentice too honestly) so I thought they should get a spot light! Also I want to change a lot of the frames in future covers bec I like the idea of other important characters getting the cover spot light! 

The other characters in the scene behind the frame are Sedgecreek (upper right), Graystripe (upper left), Troutclaw aka. Whiteclaw (below Graystripe), Voleclaw (farthest bottom left), Leopardfur (Next to Voleclaw), Fireheart (bottom middle), and Sand(paw) (bottom right). All of these cats were in the border skirmish between River and Thunder when Fire and Gray were traveling back from bringing back Wind Order!
