I can't wait to see Susan's line about the end of the world ("I fantasized about going crazy at the end of the world.") placed next to similar quotes from Ghost Quartet ("I want to take a picture at the end of the world."). It's gonna be great 🌟

Speaking of that line from Ghost Quartet, though, do you ever think about how Rose DOES wind up taking a picture at the end of the world, because Pearl's death is the end of her world? 🥺 The "man on the platform" really was "screaming about the apocalypse": the end of Rose and Pearl's world specifically 😭

a song cycle / cabaret style musical about a woman who wants to get back at her lover for falling in love with her sister and splinters her soul into four main timelines (snow-white and rose-red, the arabian nights, a new york city train platform, and the fall of the house of usher) to enact revenge on them in every iteration of their lives. it's told completely out of order and the four performers play four-to-six characters each. the album's bandcamp page describes the influences thusly:

I will admit the pitch sounds confusing as hell but I went into the proshot with no context and got along with it pretty well my first time through? if you know natasha, pierre, and the great comet of 1812, it's by the same composer who wrote that, and features some overlapping cast members.

for the low low time investment of about 90 minutes, you, too, can make posts that people mistake for being about steven universe because they involve characters called pearl and rose.

Death Battle Round 2

Pierre:

  • Big big hands
  • Is a rad man but also a sad man. My man went through 3 existential crises in the span of like, a week. If that doesn't show resillience idk what would. Solid dueling capabilities, even when drunk. Enjoys time to himself but can also enjoy company. Is tasked with fixing everyone's problems in the last quarter of the show and more or less pulls it off (Andrei's problems are his, not Pierre's) so both a good problem solver and an effective mediator (might involve paperweight related threats but hey he gets results). Has a mean grudge against Napoleon so don't get on his bad side. Cultured (Reads whenever he is not drinking). Has a lot of money too.
  • HE HAS BIG BIG HANDS. OUR MOST DEAR MOST KIND MOST SMART AND ECCENTRIC> i love this guy SO much

The Bear:

  • He’s. a bear… Is at least assumed to be able to change people into crows
  • if he’s in his incarnation as the bear then bears are pretty strong and they have teeth, as shah zaman he killed A Lot of people, and as the pusher he killed pearl
  • gaslight gatekeep girlboss dude literally spursa slew of whole multiple life cycles bc he sent someone on a quest who ruins multiple people's lives just so he could get money. sure. going to the grocery store would be faster...but where's the fun? where's the drama?? where's the mildly incestuous relationships???

Hero is a gorgeous and genuinely moving song and makes me tear up every time

That being said, "Guess I messed up/guess I made a bad call/but I have no idea/what I could've done different" is the funniest line in this whole musical. You didn't have to do any of that Rose. You could've done literally anything else
