As much as people like to poke fun at phantom blood for the art, it’s shown how since day one Araki clearly depicts the influence of Italian Renaissance art and sculpture he had researched so much on Erina’s exposed body shapes

And for a more modern, yet true-to-the-time PB was happening reference is the girls of Charles Dana Gibson.

The idolized idea of American women of the end of 19th and start of 20th century were a big inspiration to Araki, considering the hatching style,

and the way Erina’s face is similar to the doe-eyed yet uninterested expression of the women

What I love about Erina and Lisa Lisa is that both are so much influenced by the best of both words and that makes them to be gorgeous.
