This is a nice sentiment but it's SO funny to me. It sounds like they've talked him into being nonbinary too
using my powers for good
This emmrich and neve banter man… very good
I cannot stop thinking about the banter between Lucanis and Emmrich where Lucanis says he tried flirting with who can only be assumed to be Viago (he says it eas a crow man Emmrich knows, it can only be him) by giving him a knife and Viago didn't know what he was doing.
First off, between Viago and Neve man definitely has a type. Second, incredibly bold to try to get involved in the Viago and Teia stuff. Third, everyone knows Viago is a poison freak. Fourth, that was never going to work Viago couldn't tell TEIA was into him.
Im so obsessed with Lucanis constantly fumbling everyone he tries to court it's so important to me
I am also obsessed that this man did this and HES the one Emmrich went to for date advice. Like out of EVERYONE you were talking through your romantic plans with LUCANIS?

Veilguard is a good game because there's actual old man yaoi
you know what. im just going to say it. taash and harding have like no chemistry. maybe its just me because i took them out with other people but i never even saw them interact before they started apparently liking each other
taash and harding feels like when people plan for their d&d characters to get together in dms then make them have a weird conversation out of nowhere in game to make it happen instead of basing their relationships off what actually happened to me

I'm not done so I'll save full judgemental for later but it's driving me crazy how much wild new lore is being casually dropped in one line then moved passed with no elaboration in favor of a coming out story I feel too.....old and disconnected to the process of coming out to be really invested in, beyond the ways it makes me thing of my friends. And even then I feel like there's too much focus on the coming outand this one single aspect and not enough on the other aspects of the story (being between cultures feels like it's taking a backseat too and that's frustrating)
Like. it feels like a YA story but I'm not playing an M rated game for a YA story you know
I will say one thing that HAS bothered me a little is the game making my elf say things related to elven gods that they wouldn't say, as in I have intentionlly ignored every daliah-sounding option and they're still saying "our gods" every so often. It's typically in context of talking to other elves (main one that stands out to me is Davrin) and could be interpreted as a "all elves are going to be blamed for this" kinda thing i guess. But also. I didn't make a daliah elf. I have not picked a single option that could be interpreted as dalish.
Absolutely obsessed with the Lord of Fortune background letter implying Varric originally tried to get Isabela to come help take down Solas. Literally would have been the funniest possible situation
No way people on twitter are upset dorian has aged 10 years in the past 10 years. Are you guys stupid or something
Watching the scene of Harding where she talks about Isatunoll, does anyone else get the sense that her role was initially written for Dagna?
Let me preface that Lace is lovely and I'm very happy her fans get so much more content and a full romance with her and I hope it's everything you dreamed. But I just get the strong sense that her role was initially planned for Dagna before they ever started writing for Veilguard.
Firstly, as others have commented, Harding was born and raised in Redcliffe, so it comes as quite a surprose that she's a follower of the Stone and concerned by What The Dwarves Have Lost. I mean sure, it doesn't necessarily contradict anything established about her, but it was certainly never set up in any previous games with even a single hint. Dagna was from Orzammar however, and it would have made perfect sense for her to cling onto her culture in some way even if she left her home to pursue her special interest.
Which brings me to dwarves with magic. Up until now, and them introducing Harding as caring about the Stone etc., it wouldn't have made that thematically impactful a narrative for the Scout from the Hinterlands who joined the Inquisition to have an adventure to be connected to Titan magic... I'd have expected her arc more to be about how adventures aren't always fun and you can actually get hurt pretty bad in the big bad world out there or something along those lines maybe. You know who was set up perfectly for it though and would have absolutely lost it if they got magic? Someone obsessed with magic all her life and actually getting to experience it for herself now. At the cost of learning some rough stuff about her culture.
I didnt't really get the sense in DAI that Harding was meant to be more than that plot device to introduce areas at the time they wrote DAI (again, no value attached here, I just don't think they planned for anything more at that point. The devs said themselves they were surprised by how strong the fan reaction was for her). But when they brought back Dagna no matter your choices in DAO and gave her all those mysterious lines about feeling mountain-tall and lyrium and tranquil... I very much did get the sense that they were leaving crumbs for her to come up again in a titan plotline.
(And least importantly, they even seem to have given Harding Dagna's signature absent-minded rambling? DAI Dagna always seemed way more confident and verbally sparring with you than what we've seen so far for Veilguard imo.)
Idk I just feel like maybe this was concepted for Dagna initially but was changed to Harding early on because of the popularity her character got.
Anyone else obsessed with Illaro's bun and undercut or are the rest of you normal?
Here's my thoughts on the world state discourse.
1. The Keep sucks and goes offline frequently and most of what you put into it didn't matter as it was and I do not understand why people are acting like they're being deprived of something by Veilguard not having it or whatever? If it makes the game playable offline then it's a net good to nix it imo
2. None of us have played the game. We do not know how much any of the choices left out would matter and have no way to know until the game comes out. There's a couple I do admittedly find a little strange to leave out based on what we DO know, and I share the same reservations over the idea that the romance one is going to essentially be treated as Solas or Not Solas that a lot of other people do, but people act like the game is ruined and worthless because stuff that (knowing who the characters are and their stated motivations from previous apperances) would have no reason to be discussed outside of providing hollow fanservice are definitely not coming up. You, the player, knowing who these characters are doesn't make it not wildly out of character and weird for them to divulge some of their secrets to a new guy because you are behing the controller.
3. It's baffling that people act like a lot of people in the fandom didn't start with Inquisition and seem to forget that yes, there are people who will start fresh with Veilguard. I can see why they would keep the decisions from the previous game limited with that in mind. Imagine if you bought a game then had to set up something like the Keep with zero idea of what any of it means to even start it, would you play that? Because most people wouldn't.
4. This one is more personal but I think it specifically is really annoying. All the complaints about the Well of Sorrows decision specifically not mattering are stupid I'm sorry there was no proof that Solas would be able to control anyone with it ever, that's always been 100% fan theory that, if we can all be honest for a second, did not hold up at all after Trespasser came out. That not coming up in the character creator just means other theories (Morrigan controls Mythal, she'a actually dead now) are more plausible and in either case no, for the sake of the game, it would not matter because your lavellan who drank is not getting controlled by anyone
NGL I don't get people being so upset about the Well of Sorrows decision specifically not being in the character creator. For all we know the other decisions could just be affirmed in dialouge later like the dalish/city elf thing but even if it's not, all that says is either Mythal is actually fully dead now or the theory that Flemeth sent the part of Mythal through the mirror is true and she's with Morrigan now, who would never use that power on anyone or like. Is serving herself now. There's no reason for it to come up in either case tbh
