i dont know much about star wars or the intense lore, but just as a causal viewer, i think the way the flashbacks kept aligning with the current scenes made it seem like he will always still be a padawan- no matter how powerful or advanced he is. i really like the line obi says “your need to prove yourself will be your downfall” or something like that.
because he still has the long hair and braid, its before revenge of the sith- which means obi wan was right. anakin always felt the need to prove he was this or prove he was that. even as darth vader and leader of the empire- he still feels the need to prove himself to obi wan.
so even as they grow older, they’re always master and padawan. and i liked they didn’t age him down (even though they totally could have) because i think it makes it even more apparent.
