You really are actually fat though. Call it curvy and be all "Body positivity!" all you want but nah, you're straight up overweight. It is what is, fatty.
Blah blah blah, you’re fat, blah blah blah
Oooh. Burn. Somebody get me some ice for this burn.
Okay, so I actually would like to talk about this for a minute.
First off my dude, for my height and weight ratios, medically speaking I could stand to lose about 5 lbs, that’s it. Personally I would like to lose around 60 as that would put me back at my pre pregnancy weight, but (and here’s the kicker), I’m not overly concerned about it because I’m actually pretty confident about how I look. I work out and eat healthy, but I do it to be healthy and fit, not skinny. Maybe I’m not your type, but that’s okay. You’re definitely not mine.
But I digress, this is not actually what I want to address here. What I want to talk about is this:
While I am perfectly happy with how I look and feel, I know that there are lots of girls and boys out there who are not.
And I see asks this all the time. I see so many mutuals and blogs I follow, fucking gorgeous girls like: @prettymasochistx @littlewolf-x @sunkissednaiad @deardess @iaimtoplease24 @alwaysinherhead @fluffy- pink-tail (and so many others, these are just ones I’ve seen really recently)
And I see them getting messages from (cowardly) anons telling them they’re fat and to lose weight. I also know that regardles of how beautiful they are, some of these ladies struggle with body image issues. Not only that, but we all have fairly big blogs, so there is a good chance we have a fair amount of followers who also struggle with them.
Diseases like body dysmorphia, anorexia, and bulemia have been steadily on the rise in North America for the past decade or so. They are more common than you think, and sometimes harder to spot.
So while your comments don’t bother me, my concern is this:
Maybe someone who follows me who has a similar body type and struggles with feelings of inadequacy or depression because of her weight sees you call me fat. Maybe that makes things worse for her. Maybe she starts cutting or doesn’t eat for the rest of the day.
Maybe you send a message to someone who is having a really hard body image day, and that’s the day they decide they can’t take it anymore and they commit suicide, because these diseases are correlated to self harm.
Maybe that’s what makes them decide losing weight the healthy way is taking too long, and they start throwing up, or stop eating. Maybe they waste away, maybe their mother cries every night because they’re at a loss of how to help, maybe their best friend is the one who has to call the ambulance when they collapse at the mall, maybe they get into treatment, but maybe they don’t.
Just because you can hide behind your computer and your anon button, does not mean that what you’re doing isn’t wrong. It is. Cyber bullying is cowardly, and dangerous.
Please, consider this:
* At least 30 million people of all ages and genders suffer from an eating disorder in the U.S.
* Every 62 minutes at least one person dies as a direct result from an eating disorder.
* Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness.
* 1 in 5 anorexia deaths is by suicide
* 33-50% of anorexia patients have a comorbid mood disorder, such as depression. (Mood disorders are more common in the binge/purge subtype)
The people you send your little comments to are real. They have real lives, families, feelings and issues. So whether you are lashing out because you yourself have self confidence troubles (this does not excuse you by the way, please seek help), you are a sad little boy rejected and trying to make someone feel bad, or because you’re just a straight up asshole, please keep this in mind.
Find a better use of your time. Find a shelter, volunteer. Take up knitting. Whatever.
Just stop being mean to other people.

hi everyone!! my name is grainne but i go by grace! i’m from scotland in the uk and i have cerebral palsy, this year i’ve been offered a place at university!! but my university is built on a lot of hills and i would struggle to get to classes on my own. i really really value my independence so i am looking to buy an electric wheelchair attachment to help me get around - a SMARTDriveMX2!! it’s a wheel that attaches to the back of your wheelchair to give you more power going up hills.
i can’t stress how much this would improve my life, not only for university, but just in general as getting around on my own can be really difficult. if i was to get this it would be like a weight off my shoulders, i could go to university, i could go travelling, go shopping ect just normal things without having to worry about being tired or sore!! the freedom that abled bodied people get doesn’t seem so far away!
the only problem is that the SMARTDriveMX2 is £5750 and i start university in september!! i really hate to ask anyone for money but there’s no way i can afford this on my own - so if you can please please donate!!
my justgiving (my mum made this page so it’s in her name)
if you aren’t able to donate i totally understand - but please share this page and message far and wide!! thank you so so much!! xx
