Let Us Cross Over the River, WIP Big Bang Submission

Story Title: Let Us Cross Over the River Fandom: MCU, Captain America Link: AO3 Summary: California promised riches and gold. It delivered that and so much more. Warnings: No archive warnings apply. Characters: Bucky Barnes, Steve Rogers, Darcy Lewis (mentioned) Pairings: Bucky Barnes/Steve Rogers When I Started: Although this part of the series is new, the entire saga began back in May 2021. What started as a story about the Civil War with Bucky’s dreams of going west after the war ended has evolved into a five part series that follows Steve and Bucky from the battlefields of Virginia to northern California. Parts 1 through 3 were written for bingos, a historical fic event, and an event celebrating those with disabilities, as well as the WIP Big Bang in previous years. Parts 4 and 5 were completed for this year’s WIP Big Bang and current Bingo events. How I Lost My Shit: After finishing part 3, I knew that I had two more sections to write, but I didn’t have any specific event that provided motivation. How I Finished My Shit: Thankfully, this year’s bang coincided with two bingo events that provided a framework and inspired me to finish. I posted Part 4 last month and was able to finish the series with this fifth installment.
