me watching the projared drama despite not knowing who anyone involved actually is:
chris evans is in the ffh cast bc peter parker is going to stumble on bucky and young steve having coffee at a cafe in Venice & steve’s gonna be like “u better keep ur mouth shut about this or I’ll kick you back to queens”
I'm thinking about moving blogs bc I hate the fact that this isn't my main
at this point, i can't be bothered with the directors and writers, but i'd like to see people who's been validating Steve's choice say something about Bucky being a damaged character who can always be corrupted. then again i guess they don't care because who the hell is Bucky?
I don’t understand how the directors and writers (who i thought respected and understood the characters enough considering they were the ones responsible for all the cap movies) keep contradicting themselves in the worst ways.
steve and bucky are healthy enough to “move on” from each other, but bucky is damaged and shouldn’t be given another weapon? (a shield that is mostly a defensive tool)(btw I’m glad sam got the shield but saying bucky is damaged isn’t the way to do it)
2012 steve stopped fighting who he thought was loki at the mere mention of bucky, but 2024 steve decided to live 80 years without his best friend?
one pair of them sayin steve stayed in the og timeline, the other saying he just went off into a new timeline? like come on. pls have enough respect for the characters that You developed to get your stories straight.
anyway no matter what the actual plot is of Falcon and Winter Soldier there simply must be a scene where Sam and Buck go to some important event, possibly in an undercover situation, and that trope happens. checking weapons at the door.
Sam maybe leaves a couple things, then waits while Bucky produces weapon after weapon until Sam just eyerolls, shakes his head, and walks off to do whatever. The rest of the scene has Sam carrying on whatever mission and occasionally it cuts back to Bucky still discarding weapons, or you’ll get a glimpse of him in the background still at it. It gets absurd. There’s just an ungodly amount of weapons and it’s to the point where the audience has to wonder where he’s even taking them from.
Sam gets almost finished with whatever he’s doing and is about to have to go tell Bucky to pick everything back up so they can leave but then a (possibly even unrelated to either of them) fight breaks out and Bucky looks vaguely annoyed, glancing over the massive pile of weapons and deliberately selecting something before jumping into the fray. the ensuing scuffle is ridiculous and beautifully choreographed and is amazing and tense and just. fantastic.
Fight ends, they’re both very much ready to go home (or move on whatever plot-important thing has developed because of the fight) and then there’s a moment where they’re both left standing in silence just kind of staring at the weapon pile before Sam goes “man we’ve talked about this”

tom hiddleston really got to set. sat in his trailer for 4 hours for hair and makeup. got ready to do one scene in avengers endgame for what would amount to like 45 combined seconds of screentime. and he looked at himself in the mirror. and he said Thomas. You go out there. And you do your gay best. You go out there and you use the 1/3 of your face that they’ve allowed you to emote with and you communicate as much campy, homosexual contempt for your surroundings as possible. you do it because this is the hollywood dream, babey. and he did it. that wild son of a bitch did it.
