Just One Day (F - Taehyung)
*My heart and soul went into this..*
Request: Just One Day or I Like it with Tae? You can choose (Happy Ending pls ^^)
He sat upside down, wiggling his toes and swaying his head while he played a game on his phone. He was close to beating this certain level when his phone glitches and made him fall short of beating it.
“Are you still playing that game?”
“What do you want, Jimin?”
“You’re not going to support your best friend.”
“Namjoon hyung isn’t in the showcase.”
“You always do great and it’s going to be on snapchat anyways.”
“I’ll help you hit a higher score.”
“Fine, can I go like this?”
“Taehyung, you’re not wearing pants?” He looked at his striped boxers and giggled; Jimin rolled his eyes and pulled him off the couch.
“When are you performing?”
“I need to get backstage for roll call, sit in the third row okay?” He scurried before Taehyung could hit him and he entered the auditorium, finding a seat in the middle of the third row. The showcase started with the dance professor, addressing the crowd and the curtain raised as she walked off.
The first acts were a bore, one guy played on the saxophone (poorly in his opinion), one kid tried to breakdance, and another tried to play the flute with his nose. Maybe the flute playing was that bad but he has heard better.
“When is the Swan coming on stage?”
“There is this girl and she’s amazing. The only thing about her is nobody knows what she looks like.”
“She dances in a mask and she never gave her name, it’s always “The Swan”.”
“Is she Superman or something? How could nobody find out who she is?”
“The beauty is in the mystery, my friend.”
“Now, let’s hear it for Snapdragon, now let’s hear it for The Swan.” He shuffled in his seat a bit and saw bright red hair. She was beautiful, her movements eloquent and graceful, better than Jimin in his opinion. Her body never miss a beat, he found himself unable to keep his eyes off her. She ended, the curtain dropping once again and the crowd erupted in cheers.
“That’s all, folks! See you at next year’s showcase.” He stood outside, waiting for Jimin to come out and he felt his elbow being bumped.
“You need to go outside sometimes; you can make friends that way.”
“I’m friends with you, aren’t I?”
“That's cold.” He got in the car, Jimin driving them home and he sat on the couch.
“This year's show was kinda of a bomb, right?”
“What about that girl, The Swan?”
“Oh, Miss Masked Superhero.”
“How could nobody know who she is? She clearly is a performing arts major like you.”
“There's not girls that have red hair in my class, Taehyung. Plus I know all the girls and I’ve seen them all dance. None of them dance like she does, I envy her.”
“I know, she dances better than you.”
“You said you envied her.”
“That doesn't mean you can join in.” He pulled out his phone, picking up where he left off.
“Keep your promise, Jiminie.”
“Fine, you're supposed to use the power up at the beginning of the fight and then the booster in the middle.”
“It can't be that easy.” He tried it, easily beating the boss of that level and looking at Jimin’s smirking face.
“You could search that online, stupid?”
“I love when you say that.” He threw a couch cushion at Jimin who laughed at his disgust before going to bed.
“Don't dream about her too much.” His words didn't stop her from dancing through his dreams. He watched her again, her hair shining in the golden light that shine upon her. It was if the iridescent light was not from a light but radiates from her own body.
She stopped to look at him, blank irises and her mouth moved.
“Sweet baby Jesus- Jimin, what the fuck?”
“You have class in 30 minutes and you're mad at me? Next time, I’ll let you sleep in, asshole.”
“Sorry, sorry. Let's go.”
“Taehyung, you're in your boxers again.”
He wished Jimin let him sleep instead. At least he would have been in the comforts of his bed, not the hot room of while he could hear the projection of his professor’s voice.
“Hey..” He grunted to the voice, snuggling his face deeper into his arm.
“Just leave me alone, girl. Geez.”
“Hey, wait–” He only caught a glimpse of the body of the retreating girl, feeling sorry for snapping at her unnecessarily and he left the room as well.
“Hey, Tae. I’m over here?”
“Did you see the girl that left the room?”
“What did she look like?”
“You hop from crush to crush so quickly.”
“Nice eyes, cute lips, brown hair. Looked like she had tears in her eyes– you fucked up, didn't you?”
“Shut up.” He put his arm around Jimin, walking along with him for lunch and going to his car. They went to a café for lunch, Taehyung eating to his heart’s content.
“Does your stomach ever get full?”
“You eat like a dumpster, I pray for the girl that marries you.”
“By what means? At an eating contest?”
“Yeah, what's wrong with that?”
“If you can't see what's wrong with that, I can't help you.”
“Did you find anything out about The Swan?”
“I wasn't crushing on the other girl from my class.”
“Did you find anything or not?”
“Nothing. She's like a ghost.”
“Why her? You saw her dance once?”
“It's the mystery around her. How could someone so graceful and beautiful want to remain hidden? Did she not want the popularity that came with her dancing? Or maybe she loved to keep everyone wondering and created this identity for herself where no one knows?”
“You're a total lit major.”
“I want answers from her. Maybe she has a story she doesn't want to tell. Who knows?”
“Alright, you can stop nerding out on me. You don't have classes after this?”
“We’ve lived together for 2 years, and you don't know my schedule?”
“Well, you're not the centre of my life.”
“Rude. I don't but I need to help my professor after school.”
It's as if Jimin had the power of jinxing everything. He had to pack boxes and carry them to various rooms, one of which being the dance room. He heaved in the box, tired, burdened its weight, and dropped it down.
He was about to leave when he heard music playing. A girl tied her hair and he hid, he didn't know why he was compelled to watch but he continued anyways.
It hadn't taken him long to realize how talented she was, her body moving along to the beat. Her flowing movements like water, taking shape of the music she danced to.
“Ow.” She tripped off over her own feet, Taehyung’s feet rushing to her aid and she looked at him in shock. He had blown his cover and realized it when she hit him. Hard.
“First of all, are you alright? Second, I think you gave me a bruise.”
“It's just a little tumble and you deserved it, spying on me like a pervert.”
“In my defence, I was in here before you came in. Lifting in boxes.”
“Taehyung, what is the hold– Oh, Y/N, my I didn't know you danced. Not that you spoke to Taehyung.”
“I don't dance and I don't–”
“Isn't she modest? She dances pretty well and she wanted my opinion like she always does.”
“Oh, so you two don't talk in class but outside of it.”
“This was a spur of the moment. She usually would have ignored me.”
“You two should talk more often, then. Oh, Taehyung I’ll relieve you of carrying more boxes. You can help me some other time.”
“Thank you, Professor.” She left and he felt a hard punch to his chest.
“Okay, I deserved that one.”
“What the fuck, Taehyung?”
“You learned my name quickly. Y/M, was it?”
“No one is supposed to know about this.”
“Oh, so I know a secret about you already? This is the start of a beautiful friendship, Y/N.”
“I want to cut off your tongue.”
“I’d bet you would like to see mine. I’m afraid we're not that close yet.”
“I can already tell I’m going to hate you.”
“Aw, I thought we could be the best of friends.”
“Are you always like this? So–”
“Hot? I know; it's so hard.”
“I was going to say ‘A narcissistic asshole’ but I have my answer already.”
“Cool. You don't mind if I tell everyone you dance?”
“They won't believe you.”
“What if I say I have a video of it?”
“You're a pervert. You videotaped it too?”
“You're decent looking, could lose the attitude though,” she scoffed, adjusting her ponytail and tempting him to set her hair free.
“Considering I just filmed you, do you really want to test that theory?”
“Your precious secret is the latest gossip.”
“Or I can break your phone.”
“Sent to my friend. How stupid do I look?”
“Do you want an answer to that question?”
“Well, what's your answer, Y/N?”
“You tricked a girl into going out with you? And she said yes?”
“Well, with my looks and wit. How could she say no?”
“No, I am. I'm smart enough to con her into a date with me.”
“Blackmail. You blackmailed her.”
“I didn't. I didn't even take a video of her.”
“She didn't ask for proof.”
“So, you're taking her out tonight?”
“Yup. I even got her number.”
“Poor girl, conned by a simple fool.”
“I really hate you, I’m not a fool.”
“You're holding your phone upside down.”
“I can't believe I trust you with my car. Bella, my baby.”
“This is why you're single, you named your car?”
“Don't judge me and Bella. She's a beauty.”
“Just don't scratch her, Taehyung.”
“I won't, now gimme gimme.” He dropped the keys into his open hands and Taehyung went to the car. Driving to the address you gave him, he got out to ring the doorbell.
“Oh, hello. I'm Taehyung, is Y/N home?”
“Oh, Y/N. You didn't tell me you had such a handsome boyfriend–”
“He's not my boyfriend. We're just going out for a date.”
“Oh, well he’s like a lovely young man.”
“Taehyung!” He ran off, going to his car and you giving it a look before sitting in the passenger seat.
“He has nice taste; I wish I was with him instead.”
“You'll settle for someone less attractive than me?” He started the car, driving to the movies and talking with you along the way.
“He won't need to blackmail me into going out.”
“He's a troll with black hair and pale skin. He's like a ghost in my warm honey complexion and sweet chocolate brown hair. You won't do better than me, Y/N.”
“Is that the only word you know?”
“Is it wrong to know that you're good looking?”
“Not to the lengths that you go to.”
“Maybe it's because I’m just that good looking.” You rolled your eyes, getting out the car after he parked and speeding into the theatre. He put his arm around your shoulder, trying to keep you from running off.
“Tickets for two, The Chilling.” He paid, seeing you were ready to pay for the tickets and being quicker than you.
“Here you go, enjoy your date.”
“I thought with your dancing reflexes, you would be faster.”
“You can shut up me, just bring your lips here.”
“No fucking way, you pervert.”
“The truth hurts, Princess.”
“That’s King to you.” You scoffed at him, taking your ticket from his hand and he entered the screen room with you.
“I’m buying food, do you want anything?”
“Popcorn, skittles and oh, for you to go to hell.”
“As long as you meet me there, Y/N.” He winked at you to which you fake gagged in disgust.
“You like it, don't hide it.”
“I’d like to never see your face again.”
“I can't do that, Princess.”
“God, I hate you so much.”
“Love you too, Y/N.” He left with that, getting food before the movie begins. He simply wanted a drink and candy, bringing your order and his along with him.
“You don't want popcorn?”
“Why, you aren't willing to share?”
“I don't want your greasy hands near my popcorn.”
“They're not greasy, I washed them last week..”
“Thank you, I take pride in that.” You ignored him, your eyes turned to the movie. It was horror, he knew you were different from the way you spoke to the way you looked at him in pure dislike. You didn't quake in fear, like most girls would. You rather watched with content, and ate your popcorn fruitfully. He reached for some, you looking at him with a frown.
“You said you didn't want some.”
“Seeing the way you happily munch on the kernels, I wanted some.”
“I licked some and put it back.”
“Good, we’re sharing an indirect kiss then.”
“Hey, my nose doesn't look like that.” He pouted and you laughed at him, your giggles making him confused.
“What are you laughing at? I'm insecure about my nose, you know.”
“You know, for a moment there, you almost looked cute.”
“Are you saying I’m cute?”
“You think I'm cute, eh?”
“I rather choke to death.”
“Little, I’m twice your height. You're little.”
“The only thing little here is your friend in your pants.”
“You want to verify that?”
“My eyes don't need to see how little you are, it's only going to make them fall out from the ugly sight.”
“You're all bark, no bite.”
“I just want this ‘date’ to be over and for you to delete the video.”
“We still have somewhere to go.”
“No, I brought you to Buckingham Palace.”
“No, idiot. This is the best you can do?”
“I doubt anyone would ask you out with that attitude.”
“I'm nicer than you think, I just don't like you.”
“I wonder why..” You got out the car, taking off your heels and holding them in your hands. He took off his shoes as well, not wanting sand in them and holding them like you.
“Let's walk the shore and talk.”
“I have nothing to say to you.”
“You're a jerk, you tricked me in this.”
“Well, how else could I get you to come here?”
“I don't know, befriend me and then ask me out.”
“I wanted to say I’m sorry for last time. When I snapped at you. And when I peeped on you.”
“It's just when I saw you dance, I felt like I was in a trance. You were so eloquent and hell, you were even better than my best friend. I wanted to know you.”
“How could you make me almost smudge my mascara?”
“That was so sweet, Taehyung.”
“Of course. Hi, I'm Y/N.”
“Hey, Y/N. I'm Taehyung, nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too, Taehyung.”
He walked out of class with you, you shyly looking down and he looking at you with a smile.
“Baby, won't you look at me?”
“Just one look?” You looked at him and pecked your lips, getting hit by you but it was worth it.
“I couldn't help it, baby.”
“Call me baby!” He felt Jimin’s hand on his shoulder and he shook his head.
“You're head over heels for her, huh?”
“She's beautiful and sweet and–”
“I got the message, lover boy.” They walked to his car again, this time Taehyung catching a glimpse of you walking up to a guy that hugs you.
“Tae? Dude, what's..” He cuts himself short, looking in the direction he was and seeing the guy slip something into your pocket and whispering in your ear.
“Is this why she's always busy after school?”
“Maybe it's not what it looks like.”
“To hell with what it looks like. She's cheating on me.”
“Tae, you don't know that.” He slammed his door shut, waiting for Jimin to drive them home and going straight to his bed.
“She has an apartment but she won’t tell me where it is, always making me pick her up from her mom’ house.”
“I saw what I saw, Jimin.”
“Give her the benefit of the doubt.” He huffed; it's been like this for weeks. You would always be too busy for him, only going out with him the mornings or on the weekends. He hadn't minded it before but it all clicked now.
How was he so blinded by you not to see that as strange? Therefore, he turned to The Swan, the only girl who hasn't hurt him.
Her grace and beauty calls to him again and your face slips his mind. If he could meet her for just one day, he would jump at the chance.
“What do you want?” He gave her a hard stare, he's been avoiding her all week but she only noticed now? Maybe she was too busy with the other guy to remember his existence.
“Why have you been avoiding me all week?”
“Why do you, all of a sudden, care?”
“Because my stubborn boyfriend won't even dare to look my direction and I would like to know why.”
“Why don't you ask your other boyfriend?”
“Other boyfriend? Tae, what are you talking about?”
“The other day, you were hugging and giggling with some other guy. Did you think I won't find out about him?”
“Tae, it's not like that. He's just–”
“He's just another guy like me who was stupid enough to fall in love with you. I pity us both.”
“Just be happy with him.”
I will explain everything
Just please don’t let us end it like this
I love you, Kim Taehyung.
His phone kept buzzing as he tried to sleep and he felt a pillow hit his head,
“I'm not in the mood, Jiminie.”
“Go to the studio, stupid.”
“Get your moping ass to the studio. I'm sick of hearing you pretend that you're fine when you cry at the sound of her name.”
“I think you rather fuck Y/N.”
“Don't talk about her like that. She's the type of girl that deserves to get love made to her. She's not some slut that just fuck and forget about the next morning. She's someone that you could never forget.”
“Then, why are you trying so hard to forget her?”
“Because I'm stupid. What if I'm wrong about her?”
“Get on your knees and beg forgiveness.”
“I don't deserve her, Jimin. She doesn't need someone who can't even trust her. Someone who's quick to judge. She deserves more than someone like me.”
“You're a fucking dumbass. It's not even funny. She loves you, stupid. She always loved you. That's why she tell you to show up becoming she doesn't want to lose the one she loves.”
“Yes, now go to her before she really does get another man in her life.”
“Still the same ass I met before.”
“What did you want to explain to me?”
“Close your eyes.” He followed what you said, feeling you wave your hand over his eyes and walking off.
“You're not going to kill me, are you?”
“Good god, Taehyung. Why would you think that?”
“Well, you walked off quickly.”
“Okay, just open your eyes.” He did as you told him, seeing red hair and the very mask that he looked upon weeks ago. The Swan.
“I should have known by the way you danced.”
“I'm surprised you didn't catch on.”
“There's a beauty in the mystery. I like knowing that I won't have people like me because of my dancing but, because of me.”
“I'm sorry, Y/N. I was just so–”
“Don't worry, Tae. I’m all yours.”
“But while we're revealing things, I should probably tell you the truth.”
“I didn't record you that day.”
“Hey, hey shouldn't we be happy to rekindle our love?”
“It's a shame I’ll have to kill you.”
“Y/N, you don't have to do this.”
“Kim Taehyung.” He ran out at the sound of your voice, fearing for his life. He was still glad, that just one day was how this beautiful relationship blossomed.
