3 transphobic arguments to be aware of (so you don't go down the alt right pipeline)
Easily one of the most important videos I've seen since the election.
(There is a lot more. Rather than give you all the images, I've copied the full text below.)
- This is actually the most hopeful thing I've read since the election. It's hard to believe we'll all be okay just because we're full of spite or we're on the right side of history. It's easy to believe Trump and his administration is a pile of venomous bucket crabs in clownshoes.
- Take that part about grifters and amateur analysts on the left seriously. Scam artists take advantage of panic and desperation, and a lot of us are feeling panicked and desperate. Also, when people are panicked and desperate, their critical thinking skills suck and they don't necessarily come to logical conclusions even when doing their best. God knows I've fallen for scams and dramatic worst case scenarios. The most important thing is to check your sources and be suspicious of dramatic appeals to emotion (though dramatic appeals to emotion don't mean something is false, either).
- Isolation fries your brain. I know there are lots of ways to wind up trapped in an isolating situation, but reach out to other people- preferably multiple groups of other people- any way you can. Volunteering is a good way to do this.

UPDATE 4/11/2023:
I swapped out the colloidal silver nasal spray info for xylitol nasal spray info. I originally included colloidal silver spray because of the linked study and recommendation from RTHM, but I don't want to be pointing people toward something with notable health risks. Xylitol spray (Xlear) is also cheaper and more widely available!
This is such a concise and informative resource! PLEASE boost this and keep each other safe! The pandemic is NOT OVER.

Another AO3 thing I’m curious about, how do yall decide if something is good enough to read? Usually I follow a rule of 1 kudos for every 10 hits. One because it’s easy math and two it’s yet to fail me. Thoughts? Do you just go for it and pray it’s good?
At this point I can cross my eyes and just kind of Feel the shape of the description as I scroll by and that alone is enough for me to know what I'm going to click on
why is this one broken?
from a tumblr site perspective, because i did not add a title to it, so it didn’t fully register. from a supernatural perspective? because you can’t save him. because it’s always too late. because you always made that choice and said what you said and he never gets to hear anything different. because this is how the story ends. because this is how it started.
Attention Pennsylvania voters!
Senator Bob Casey’s race is now at a margin of 0.53%.
An automatic recount in PA is triggered with a margin of 0.5%. That’s a difference of 0.03% or a little over 2,000 votes. We need to make sure every ballot is counted here, and there’s thousands of uncounted ballots right now due to voter error.
Did you mail in a ballot? Check to see it was accepted here:
If it says anything other than accepted/counted/etc, your ballot needs your attention. A mistake in filling it out means that your ballot will not count unless you “cure” it. Check your county’s curing policies:
See full instructions for curing by county here.
You have until November 12 to cure your ballot in PA.
Do you know someone who mailed in a PA ballot? Please pass these links on to them. You may be the difference between their vote counting or not in a super close race.
Everyone else, you can help PA voters cure their ballots. If you live in Pennsylvania, you can help canvass in your county (see links in this thread). If you are in another state, you can sign up to call voters and help them cure by phone.
Want to help another state? Sign up for a shift through November 19.
A quote from the article:
"Seeing that there were four open board seats but only two progressive candidates running, they organized a write-in campaign...It worked: Shipps was elected by a margin of just 67 votes, defeating a candidate who had tried to get the book Gender Queer banned from local schools."
It is so rare that a write-in campaign works, I am so impressed with the level on which these kids organized! I'm so proud!
oh but if you're in the USA and Fucking Upset about the election and looking to Show Solidarity And Improve Conditions, may i recommend: wearing a mask! 1) demonstrates care for the well-being of those around you 2) pisses off conservatives for some reason 3) getting and/or being sick is about to get WAY more expensive; make it as difficult for germs as possible
This morning I sat down to organize my thoughts on the next four years, because I am a person who feels better when I have some sense of being prepared or in control. However, after a brief self-evaluation, I realized I don't know nearly enough to come to any immediate conclusions there on my own, so instead of answers, I've made a list of questions. I am sharing those in case you also need a place to start. (These are all big picture questions, BTW; the next step after coming up with some answers to these is to ask "and then what the hell am I personally able and going to do".)
- What are the biggest & most immediate dangers?
- What tactics are likeliest to work to prevent or mitigate those dangers?
- What previous tactics should be discarded for being ineffectual?
- What efforts/tactics most require money?
- What can be done by untrained individuals, aside from fundraising/donation?
- What are specially trained/educated people needed for, and is training something that can be done in time? Or should focus be on connecting or supporting people who are already trained/educated?
- Who knows enough about this (US government, authoritarianism, organization) to provide answers? And who does not know enough to provide answers?
If you have any good questions I forgot, or recommendations on where to start answering any of these, let me know...!
