How old is Marley? Do you have more pictures of her?
Marley is somewhere around 4.5 years old. We adopted her through our area’s parrot rescue organization where she was living with a foster family. At the time of adoption, she was estimated to be about 2. We don’t have her hatch date, so we celebrate her ‘gotcha day’-the anniversary of her adoption!
She’s fully grown but her species has been recorded to live up to about 30 years! Sadly, conures in captivity often live to about 1/3 of that, due to owner neglect, which is why I highly recommend a TON of research to anyone who sees Marley and is interested in getting a bird. They’re essentially forever toddlers-they throw tantrums, require lots of supervision, and are attention seekers. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t a ton of fun and love in small packages!
Here’s Marley posing in front of our Christmas tree this year!
Here she is with her neck stretched out all the way (probably because she saw a bug). We call her HeiHei sometimes, after the chicken from Moana, because her eyes stick out the sides of her head!
This is her getting some well-deserves head pets and scritches.
This is another picture of her sleeping.
Aaaaand here she is three seconds prior to typing this sentence.
Marley hopes everyone has a wonderful weekend and a fun filled new year!
