This lovely single weave Viking Knit necklace was woven by hand using 24 gauge wire in Purple finished copper wire with handmade silver finished copper wire findings. With this bracelet I used the single weave technique of Viking Knit. Then at the end I made the spiral bead cones myself and added the charm. The charm included in this piece is a SPINNING WHEEL. The spinning wheel shows up in many myths and fairy tales from India to Germany and anywhere a spinning wheel of any sort may be found. From the story of Sleeping Beauty to tales of Frigga and Frau Holda. It is a source of livelihood for many people (mostly women) throughout history and has a great history all over the world outside of old stories. It's a symbol connected to witches (probably because women used it most often. That's not to say men can't be witches though) and as seen in some movies such as "Mists of Avalon" it's rhythmic workings can induce trance like states.
