New in my shop! As of 2 February 2019. 🍄

Stitched together using a bright and beautiful cushy yarn with a Spring vibe. I was inspired by the seasons change coming soon and the brightness of Ostara. The pictures don’t do the color justice! The yarn is a 70% Superwash wool and 30% nylon blend which gives it a more natural texture with a little stretch. I made it to fit runes along with a cloth for readings, a small cake of yarn, a tarot deck and light cloth, etc. It’s nearly double the size of any rune bag I use to allow any extras to be stored along with it.

The bag measures approximately nearly 6.5 inches long and around 3.5 inches wide. When laid flat it measures 6 inches across. It’s a soft round textured bag so measurements may vary somewhat.

This update is a lot smaller than I anticipated but that’s okay! I have a few partially finished items that can be completed soon too! I will likely do another mini shop update sometime this month if life mellows a bit. If not, then March for sure! January was crammed with birthdays, finishing up the Yule season festivities, getting back into a routine after my partner’s homecoming, appointments/assessments & meetings galore, daily therapies, mystery body pains that still aren’t diagnosed yet, a lovely week long visit from my sister, etc. Phew! I’m tired just thinking about it all! I hope you grab something you’ve been looking at and thank you all for your love and support! I will be updating with embroideries, etc as soon as I can! 🍄

In this piece I stitched the outline of the Norse thunder god Thor’s magical hammer. It is one of the most powerful weapons recorded in lore. It’s worn by people as a common symbol of Heathens and Norse Pagans. Some consider it a protective symbol. I highly encourage those interested to look more into the history, depictions and uses if interested.

I also included Thor’s rune Thurisaz. The name means “Thorn” or “Giant” and is typically seen to mean change, cleansing, defense, fertility and masculine energy among other things.

I spent a small bit of time each day the last few evenings painting this terra cotta pot for Midsummer. It took a few layers of both paint and protective sealant so most of my time was spent waiting for layers to dry. I painted the Elder Futhark rune "sowilo" on it as I felt it was fitting for the occasion. Sowilo means "Sun" and symbolizes goals, success, positive life changes, health, victory, power, elemental force, connecting the the higher self and the unconscious self, cleansing and more. I will be keeping this inside (because of the baby Fern) to bring these qualities into my home. I also added a little Lemurian seed quartz crystal for more great energy. Reading this again. We can only unleash a few dozen books into the house at a time due to a toddler who thinks all books are hers and general lack of space. So I keep out more reference books and my husband's running and fitness books. I dug this out of our wall of boxes filled with books (we literally have a wall of boxes filled with books. Yes, an entire wall.) for something to read. Most people groan when they see a Llewellyn book but I adore Edred Thorsson. He was one of the founding members of "The Troth" (an organization my family is a part of) and has written some of my favorite books on Heathenry. This book is a great primer for further study if you find it interests you. Generally precise and to the point. I love it!
