Briar and Bramble

I love to spin whether it’s jumping on when my kids are contently playing, in the few extra minutes I have before leaving to an appointment, at night while I wait for my kids to go to sleep, etc. I most especially love to spin when I can create the environment to delve deeper into myself as I work. Tonight I’ve got a new to me salt lamp illuminated with a lavender infused tea light, French lavender essential oil dabbed behind my ears and on my wrists, black tourmaline (suggested by @oldeways on IG) to rest on my phone while it plays enchanting sounds, nag champa burning because it soothes me and herbs burning away in freshly cleaned out and anointed cauldrons. The picture isn’t much to look at but the energy that’s slowly weaving together as I set the scene to spin is creeping together like roots of a tree as I add layer by layer of intentionally chosen elements. I’m in love with it. 💜

Astrophyllite heart my partner gave me during our first year together. I hadn’t worked much with crystals and he was like a walking database on them. His work with crystals amazed me. I found myself going through crystals recently and subconsciously gave this heart a space front and center on my bedside altar. This was an unknowingly perfect choice during Neptune’s retrograde that I didn’t realize until today. This shift has greatly impacted me and this crystal was something I needed/need. It is a stone of illumination and light and this shift puts us in a place where our spiritual self takes a stronger hold and lifts the mask of our ego-self for a time. It can be really healing time as we are vulnerable without our camouflage. Astrophyllite works to help us love our true selves and come to terms with our past and present selves. It may not be suited to all during this time but I am finding it helpful and you may as well. 🖤
