Started the drying process for the more natural decor aspect in our home! I’m trying something new to me with the cranberries this year. You pour boiling water over them, wait until they are done popping, drain and then freeze for several hours before drying in the oven. The orange slices I just put in the dehydrator. 😅 I’m going to try a pomander again this year but I haven’t had much luck in the PNW. 🎄
My new plant babies and cuttings ready to greet the sun…if it shows up today. 🌵🌞🌵#pnwlife
It’s sunny but simultaneously randomly raining with ridiculously loud thunder. The weather here is so weird compared to back where I am from and I love it. One round was so loud it felt like someone was behind me at the back door and I jumped and grabbed my toddler. She looked at me like: “Geezuz mom it’s just Thor calm your tits.”
Ok kid. ⚡️⚒⚡️
A PNW Witch
I love how the land here erupts in various flora and when their life ends they are replaced by others. Foxglove covered everything and I was sad to see them start to die. Now yellow yarrow is popping up everywhere along with daisies. Blackberry bushes can be found on almost every street. With me eagerly awaiting their season to come. It's an herbalists and wildcrafters dreamland.
Book Suggestions
Looking for book suggestions on herbalism, lore, native practices, etc in the PNW. NW Washington would be best. Kitsap County and surrounding areas would be even more amazing. I have foraging books but looking more towards magically based texts if possible.
