This time of year can be such an odd transition period. We had the build up to the holidays for many, celebrations or lack thereof that can bring up a vast array of different emotions, the weird liminal space for some that is the last week of December before the New Year, the start of a New Year with pressures to be and do better (which usually involves an relentless onslaught of weight loss posts that can be triggering) and then throughout this…we are already seeing the next holiday on the horizon. Valentines Day. We may likely be already exhausted but have new pressures coming up for us. I tend to find myself seeking emotional healing, self love and calm during this time. Trying to soothe myself during the slow living Winter demands while also looking forward. As a small business owner, I don’t have the luxury of waiting until closer to a holiday to think about what to do about it. I’m making Halloween things in Summer and Christmas in Fall. Always a bit ahead unless I don’t plan in participating in creating holiday themed items. This year, I decided not to stress about Valentines Day. Working instead with things that my whole being craves to be around and work with. This found me with a pile of Rose Quartz at the end of December. I grew fond of this stone when I was pregnant with my first child. I was an “ew I hate pink” type of person before then. Now, I’m still drawn to this beautiful stone and what it has to offer. I’m instantly soothed by its presence and am always happy to work with it again. I made 5 pieces to share in my latest shop update in the hopes that it reaches the right people who may need it’s loving energy. If you decide this is the stone for you, I hope that you find just as many blessings (or more!) with it that I have. 💖 Love you all! ✨

🌞Art Vs Artist 🌝
I am spending the last few days of 2022 making gifts for my kids upcoming birthdays. So I figured it is safe to choose a few favorite pieces that I made this year! 😅
Earlier this year, I decided to pause on making fiber arts goods for the shop. So it has been mostly jewelry and soap (except for that clearance section 👀) coming out! I am really proud of these pieces and want to thank everyone who has supported me and my shop! You are the best. 😩🥹
I can’t wait to show you what I have planned for 2023!
Tonight, Yule starts for our family and many others. While we participate in other Winter themed celebrations before tonight, Mothers Night is when Yule really begins for us. Mothers Night is the start of the New Year and is focused on the ancestral mothers and female spirits that are a part of one’s family or community, etc. These are called the Disir and our hope is that they watch over and protect us. Our family celebrated them by baking cookies from places our ancestors hailed, spending time in the snow together and shoveling sidewalks, etc to help our neighbors, finishing crafts before sundown and enjoying a hearty meal together inspired by a favorite meal my Mom (my kids Omi) made growing up.
Do you celebrate Mothers Night? What do you do to participate?
The prayer here was created by “Wyrd Dottir” and this blog has a lot of great information about Mothers Night, etc. I just created this pretty graphic.

Folktale week!! Rebels - with witches !!! Costume - which is actually based on my village’s folk clothing. Sadly there weren’t much resources about it. That was all for me this year. Hopefully next time I’ll be able to properly plan ahead :’) Tree and Star
