Interesting note: It definitely uses whoever you're following now, not at that date. Even the 2020 one includes a lot of people I was absolutely not following yet in Feb 2020, which is actually kind of cool, I can see what they were reblogging from this fandom before I got into it.

I saw a post saying something like "here's 6 things cis men can say to patriarchal (Bad) men to be an ally" and 4 of those would get me laughed at and called slurs without changing anyone's mind, the other two are as likely as not to cause a physical fight.

And like, beating the shit out of homophobes and misogynists (frequently both!) sounds pretty cathartic but even if I was confident I could win, it's quite a leap from "being an ally in small ways".

What do these kind of posts even mean? People are trying to discuss how current events might impact their life, and someone lectures them about how similar things have been impacting peoples' lives since time immemorial. How is that actionable? What's the implication? Should we just not prepare? Or was opposing Trump a waste of time because all politicians serve capital? It's obnoxiously smug and has totally opaque implications.

Kamala Harris would have had a lot more votes if she had actually tried to stop the genocide & didn't promise to "secure the border" but people are blaming each other for not "voting the correct way" instead of blaming those in power for failing us. Why wouldn't you be more angry about the fact that Harris didn't try to run on a platform that people actually wanted? How are regular ass people more at fault than someone who deliberately removed herself away from voters' wishes? Do you know how convenient it is for them that you're blaming your fellow citizens instead of those in power?

Everyone I know is strongly against the genocide, actually. "The American people" have been protesting against her & Biden's actions all year. People showed up at every one of her appearances to demand an end to the genocide. We had one of the biggest protest movements in the history of this country. How the hell does that translate to "USAmericans (as a whole) prefer genocide?" Everyone saw her shut down voters every chance she got. THAT is what caused her to lose. "The American people" repeatedly demanded that she do better, and she ignored us. Not sure why anyone would imply that the millions of people who were against her actions aren't part of "the American people."

Everyone's BIGGEST demand was "stop the genocide." Just about everyone I know who voted Biden in 2020 specifically didn't vote for Harris BECAUSE of the genocide. How about we talk about reality instead of throwing around baseless theories.
