The last one made me cry a bit

None of the people of color on glee got the praise, acknowledgement and storylines they deserved. I’m talking Black, Asian, Latinx etc… they were just used to be a prop for the white characters storylines. Santana had some moments but ultimately they made her be a mean girl aka bitch throughout the whole thing while Quinn got redemption from being the mean girl. Also Will Schuster always had a real predatory behavior problem but that’s a whole other thing.

Oh I did. And this is what i came up with:

Season 1- Mercedes fighting Rachel’s constant micro aggressions as she bonds with Kurt, Mike , Tina and Matt. Tina tells Mercedes about faking her stutter. Quinncedes still happens.

Season 2- Mercedes crushes on Sam. Assumed he won’t be interested in her being the fat, black girl. Watches him date Quinn and Santana. Then her bff Matt leaves in episode 1. She’s lonely and depressed, losing her only black friend. She notices Kurt is depressed as well, but before she can do anything he goes to Dalton. Her original songs are rejected by Shue. She still goes on the double date to prom.

Season3- focus on her relationship with Shane, who she met at church camp after Sam moved. Learn how church camp built her confidence, which is why she fights for herself in glee club and quits. The First Time, Kurt and Blaine still bang, but this is when we learn about Mercedes’ decision to wait till marriage and Shane is okay with it. She still starts the Troubletones, has a mutual respect with Santana. Is there for her when she comes out. When sam returns we get flashbacks of their short relationship, that’s why she is so torn between him and Shane. We see her fight with her father over her choice to pursue music.

Season 4- Mercedes goes to LA, gets the deal with the creepy producer. Kurt visits her after breaking up with Blaine. Comes home to regroup. Bonds with the newbies. Helps Marley find her voice. Bonds with Jake over being black at McKinley

Season 5- Mercedes new record deal. NY POV is the brownstone with her, Blaine, Sam and eventually Santana. That arc is the same.

Season 6: she comes back to Lima to for a break between recording, helps Kurt with New Directions.
