it's late and this is kind of out of the blue but my little brother sent me a picture the other day of him posing in the mirror wearing a dress and it made me so happy because when he was little he was always interested in "girly" things (meanwhile i was a Huge Tomboy lmao) and our dad was always really shitty about it so idk not only does it make me happy he feels comfortable exploring his gender expression, but that he knows he can share it with me

“the devs said zagreus and thanatos were childhood friends” and why this makes no sense actually
let me tell you why this is just greg kasavin FURIOUSLY covering his ass:
- thanatos met persephone before zagreus was even conceived. he talks to zagreus about her. “ah” you say “but maybe thanatos was a kid back then.” and i say okay. but when zagreus was born dead, nyx says it took a long, long time to bring him back to life. thanatos would’ve likely grown up over what even a titan thinks is a long time.
- thanatos was already a grown man and attenting to his duties long before zagreus was born. how do i know this? sisyphus. sisyphus has been at his torture for a long fucking time. enough to change him from a bad man to the adorable guy zagreus meets in the game, and it seems zagreus never met him when he was a bad man.
- so we just got these writers contradicting their own writing to refuse to accept that they made a big doo doo poopy mistake all over their game and yall as fans need to open up your eyes about it
and now, this is just me griping over the writing decisions of making than and meg apparently zag’s age and thus his love interests: they shouldn’t be. they should be around hades’s age at LEAST, and thanatos could honestly be as old as Demeter (or! older!).
thanatos is death itself. he was born of one of THE most primordial titans. there’s even a fucking greek play that discusses the status of primordial entities like the Furies versus the newer generation of gods like Athena and Apollo (look up the Oresteia). Zagreus is even younger than his Olympian cousins. The family tree and the ages in this game make 0 sense and, like, yeah artistic liberties or whatever, but the fact that family is THE point of this game, and then the writers talk out their ass to pretend they didn’t make an incestuous mess, just makes these writing decisions so absurd.
there was no reason not to just make Zagreus the baby brother of a bunch of primordial forces. none. him being a newcomer to what is a horrid family dynamic would’ve still been an amazing plot. but they wanted that romance fanservice so badly they ignored everything they’d already written and made zagreus date his siblings and by god they were not above contradicting their own writing even further to convince people they didn’t.

theres vampires in fallout
there is at least one active malevolent divine entity in fallout and probably more
the mysterious stranger canonically fucks and is responsible for bringing a fatherless child into the wasteland
in north arizona theres a crater thats just lousy with giant robotic scorpions and animated skeletons and experimental brainless dogs at all hours of every day
in the fallout setting, in denver, people just live in skyscrapers and make bridges to get around because the streets are a constant swarm of snapping, howling feral dogs and thats just how it is there

BECAUSE IF SO
the Biserii’s Cradle region is a series of island countries of varying sizes, so most of the trade/travel between them goes overseas. it’s mostly ports, and so, because this region is home to several distinct cultures, there are many different bridges and styles of bridges.
Emoryii and Paryii, for instance, are in the northwest of Biserii’s Cradle. and the cultures most prevalent in that region are goblins and dwarves. goblins have a very distinct focus on efficiency and functionality, so their architecture tends to be incredibly pragmatic, if a bit chaotic to look at. they build as-needed, so their bridges are usually very simple metal catwalks. especially considering their city Wesslezznil, as well as the dwarven city of Gabbruk (which are actually connected) both extend above and belowground. Dwarves, on the other hand, are very much form AND function together, so their bridges tend to be functional, safe, and very intricately designed! sort of a mix of romanesque revival with some art deco and eclecticist leanings?
as for Tyr’Cero, the elven sister kingdoms (of Tybrisa, Gildea, and Shiasme) their bridges are very similar, but with some very distinct differences. Tybrisa likes a very clean, crisp design that incorporates a lot of white marble and crystalline accents. Gildea is very fond of intricate lacy metalwork and floral/natural designs. Shiasme gets a little more avante-garde with their designs, because of their focus on the arts.
Motinya is such a huge melting pot of cultures, being the largest landmass in Biserii’s Cradle, and so much of it is still fairly wild, the bridges are usually hastily constructed by whatever settlement happens to be closest to the area that needs a bridge!
there’s a lot of variation in this region alone! :V
