I will tell you my sad story, after we were living a beautiful life full of fun and reassurance, as we had a special project for me (a dress shop), and my older brother owned a farm, and my younger brother owned a clothing store🥹🥹🥹, and I have a brother studying medicine abroad and we have our big house full of warmth and safety, and now we live a life worse than the pictures of a person, after we left our house, Compulsory from north to south, here the suffering has begun. To provide the basics of his life 😭😭and I have been infected with a moderate injury and so far I suffer from it and I want to be treated, 💔💔💔🥺my father is sick and suffers from hemiplegia due to stroke and now he suffers from malnutrition and lost more than two-thirds of his weight 😭😭😭and my mother suffers from chronic diseases. We cannot provide them with the medicine or healthy food that they need to recover. I have cats that I fear for death and I cannot provide their food. They do not accept anything. I want to provide food and a safe place for them. We all have higher degrees, but there is no job that we can participate in because of the lack of jobs and the inability to go out at any time. Please, I ask you not to stay away from our urgent appeal. A small donation of up to $ 20 or more of each person will make a difference and save our lives. please think of the disabled people of gaza. please think of the diabetic people of gaza. please think of the neurodivergent people of gaza. please think of those whose lives are relying on medicine that has either stopped coming in due to the blockade, or is available in such scarcity that its price has skyrocketed.

we're approaching winter. on top of the challenge of securing waterproof tents and sufficiently warm clothing, some diabetic people in gaza have stopped taking their insulin as they can no longer afford it. those who are able to acquire it for now know every shot may be their last.

his father is diabetic.

one of his younger siblings is blind, and another is autistic.

imagine that kind of pressure during a genocide.

Especially on (US) election Day remember the Palestinian cause. Both candidates participate in a genocide against Palestinians, either win is a loss. You can't celebrate or mourn the results without remembering over 43,000 innocents have been killed thus far as a result of the genocide. A vote for either candidate is a vote for the deaths of Palestinians. Neither one is a moral choice, there is no lesser of two evils. There are two fascists on the ballot and either way we are inherently complicit in this genocide as USAmericans.

I'm Myassar Ramadan from south Gaza, I am 33 years old, l have 3 daughter's

Kinan 11.5 years old, Seba 9 years old ,and Mariam 4 months.

I live every day war,with saying this the last day we live according to the amount of destruction and fear, a feeling that can only be described by those who live it.

War is very difficult, as I lost part of my family, my home and my kittens.

I return to study after 12 years and work hard to take high degree to be a dentist .l work in crochet field to collect money for paying fees for my university because it was my goal to continue my education.

After the dream become true ,the war came and I lost everything in a second.

Also, my mother has been suffering from kidney failure for years and needs dialysis 3 times a week.

Because of the war, she suffered from going to the hospital in danger and long distances.

I had many dreams that I wanted to achieve and succeed and become a dentist.

All we wanted was to survive the war. We were forced to be displaced more than 10 times at least.

We suffer a lot from the tent as we lived the summer with its extreme heat as it is made of poor quality nylon

And from insects and diseases

And now winter has come and we are drowning in the tents and the extreme cold

We fear death every day, we love life

so i didn't contribute monetarily outside esims, and general aid to pcrf and msf for almost 8 months into the genocide, partly bc giving to an individual gofundme seemed like making a choice between who deserved my sympathy but mostly because i felt really conflicted about giving money that would go towards lining the pockets of price gouging suppliers and egyptian border guards. the problem was that for the first 6 months i still saw something like the 2023 status quo possible wrt gaza, of international aid continuing to enter gaza but on a drip feed. but now i have conceded that the global left is not capable of helping palestine in any structured way and israel will let aid rot on the border and nobody will stop them. you might as well help the people you can.

i had an almost identical experience during the massive oxygen and bed shortages in new delhi during covid. initially, we donated to relief groups organising oxygen supplies, but then the infrastructure kept collapsing with no end in sight and the only thing you could do for people was help them pay the massive bribes being demanded to keep their families alive. we paid the bribe for my uncle and helped a school friend pay it for her father too.

I do think that for over a year the genocide that has been going, the people who are suffering under this should be listened to and not just when we are writing posts for their campaigns. This has been such a wonderful initiative by @schoolhater to listen to Siraj Abudayeh, a Palestinian journalist who has always thought of rebuilding his home and living on in Gaza. So please share

great question. while a lot of these gofundmes started to fund evacuations, since the border will not open they have shifted to covering the costs of daily survival in gaza

the cost of food alone in gaza right now has been reported by journalists on the ground (including @siraj2024) to be 20 times the normal price.

and it varies based on location. the north is currently being starved by the IOF so food prices are higher

and there is a lot of evidence on tumblr that proves that these fundraisers do help

@ma7moudgaza2 was able to buy a tent for his family and is currently trying to pay for a solar panel

@siraj2024 was able to secure rent for a (bombed out, but still) apartment for his family over the winter

@mohdiwais was able to fund medical care for his sister after she was shot by the IOF using funds he raised on tumblr

a gaza-based charity called care for gaza has also been directly assisting families with funds used from their gofundme. they even post videos of themselves giving out food

and those are just a few examples. hope this helped!
